They push products on you and tell you your condition is worse than it is. At my first appointment, Dr. Chien said I had plantar fasciitis. At my second appointment, he said I have achilles tendonitis. Okay... He said I would have to wear a cast on each foot for three weeks each or six weeks total. My feet were in pain so I went ahead and bought the foot splints and plastic-shower-contraption-slippers to cover my feet so that they don't get wet (see pictures attached). My pain temporarily felt better for a day but then they felt worse and then my entire body ached from this "treatment". It was incredibly uncomfortable and annoying to shower with that weird plastic slipper. It was difficult to walk at all. The cast wrappings on my feet were so itchy so that I ended up cutting it off myself. I have been seeing another podiatrist and feel much better. I also ordered a foot massager on Amazon which I use every day and bought new running sneakers and my feet feel great. Bottom line: pushy, shady cash-only, the receptionist is not friendly. P.S. read the other low-rated Yelp reviews and see how they attack customers. That's not how you do business. I brought up the low-rated Yelp reviews in person and the doctor went into a long tirade about how they are written by fake trolls. Sure... because I checked their profiles and it checks out. Another con: I disliked how much the doctor talks. I want to be in-and-out of my appointments. That's not the case here.

Clean and utilitarian office space. No frills - save for a few ornamental decor and a goldfish tank.

Dr. Louis Howard is versatile fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin and English as most of his patients are elderly. He exhibits genuine concern with compassion including empathy and the waiting room already have three patients during the beginning of opening hour on a Friday November morning. The world excessively lacks genuine compassion and empathy, but Dr. Louis Howard made my family member's foot health tolerable. He offered the most effective treatment for my family member with three (3) cortisone injections to treat foot pain from a fatal fall. My family member physically notice a difference when walking and sitting especially lying in bed at ease sustaining comfort for a good night's sleep. He also advised that placing ice is only effective to numb pain and reduce swelling, but it is not a permanent resolution for foot pain management. Dr. Louis Howard, rebuked my family member for the very delayed doctor visit which was the immediate aftermath after the fall. He takes his time explaining and advising medical treatments for the best care. Pain management is treatable with mindfulness. Appointments are highly recommended and walk-ins are first come, first served. Business cards are available upon request.

Dr. Wong is an amazing and attentive doctor with a kind, caring demeanor and excellent bedside…read moremanner. I came to him with some foot pain that I have been dealing with for 2-3 years. I have something called PTTD (posterior tibialis tendonitis disorder) which is basically a tearing/weakening of the tendon on the inner part of my foot/ankle. Another podiatrist I was seeing prescribed me orthotics and physical therapy. Did both, but my symptoms and pain weren't changing (and on some days, even got worse). I did something called PRP injection which didn't have any effect. I also got an MRI which confirmed what we knew - tendon tearing in the area I was describing. The pain continued and I was ready to throw in the towel and started looking into invasive flat foot reconstruction surgery which I didn't want to do given the post-surgery downtime (also the cost!) When I first visited Dr. Wong, I explained my issue, the things I already tried, and how I've had flat feet and a certain 'duck footed' gait all my life. He took time to understand my issue and where the pain was and asked relevant questions to figure out the root cause - which is so important for a foot doctor to do. He explained that the foot is interconnected with other body systems and my issue was likely stemming from somewhere else - tight calves/hamstrings and poor walking mechanics. Instead of only focusing on the foot, he explained how my walking was affecting my hips, knees, back, and eventually, the foot. He was able to tell all this from some subtle but important clues - shoe wear patterns, where callouses were forming on my feet, and testing my ankle mobility to tell that my calves/legs were tight. This led me down the rabbit hole of internet research which supported his conclusion that my foot problems were caused by something bigger up the chain. He helped me to develop a plan to fix my leg and gait issues which will lessen the harmful forces on my feet and recommended an even stronger orthotic than the one I had to help with the pain and pressure on that inner tendon. It will take months for me to change the way I've been walking for 36 years but I already see the improvement and progress. I wish I visited Dr. Wong years ago for this, but I feel like I am on a better path to recovery. I'm looking forward to updating him on my progress and referring all my friends and family to him.
