I never waited more than about 15 minutes to see the doctor, and they have late appointments at about 6:30, which was convenient. I needed to have a procedure that would otherwise have been pretty expensive--and Dr. Guarino wasn't on my original insurance network, only the extended network or something. I had a pretty high deductible, so what they did was have me pay for only the first procedure, and they put it toward my deductible. After that, I think that they paid for the rest of my deductible themselves and then continued to bill my insurance for the rest, since it netted out better for them if they just paid it so that they could bill. It was really great. Once, I saw another doctor filling in for Dr. Guarino and I didn't really like him. And once or twice I saw Dr. Guarino's wife, Dr. Bennett, I believe. She seems nice, too, but I really am a fan of Dr. Guarino.

Dr. Tabari looked at the x-ray but was unable to identify that toe was broken so determined that he needed to take an x-ray of the OTHER foot to see if our son was just "born this way"... Upon seeing that of course the other foot did not have a broken toe, the Dr. recommended that we use ice and have our son wear a tennis shoe at home for a month -- sounds pretty good, thankfully we sought a second opinion. We were extremely fortunate to get an appointment at HSS where the great doctors there immediately diagnosed the broken toe by it's technical name and began the path to recovery that unfortunately included surgery. In addition, they did not need to expose our son to a second x-ray to confirm that a broken toe was, in fact, a broken toe - they just knew how to read x-rays and understand how feet work. I am sure the Dr. is good for some things, but would not use him for any serious issues requiring potential surgery or broken feet. In addition, this is the only doctor's practice I have ever been to that charged my credit card for a deductible a month later without the courtesy of a phone call or sending an invoice ahead of time... we all understand how deductibles work but this was very unprofessional. And I am sure the charge for the extra, unnecessary radiation is a part of this charge. Biggest lesson - get a second opinion.

He performed a major reconstruction of both my feet in 2020. Since then, I've had a new type of pain that isn't going away, and completely deformed, crooked toes. I went to multiple post op opinions, last being with an orthopedic surgeon from HSS and everyone was horrified with my scars, surgery, and before/after photos. Everyone is asking 'why?' In retrospect, my biggest mistake was not getting a second opinion after seeing Dr Voloshin. I blindly trusted in what Dr Voloshin told me (he is a 'doctor' after all!) . I had no concept of understanding of how surgery should be done and what are the risks associated with it. Dr Voloshin didn't explain the risks to me of the procedures he was going to do, like toe shortening, ironically, he assured me, that I won't even notice, that anything was performed on my toes,that flexibility will back 100% in a few months, that I'm going to thank him forever,"I guess won't forget him now forever". If he would have told me that the toes may not heal properly because of how RISKY the surgery was, that the toes are going to be stiff forever - I would have never agreed to the surgery. My toes and feet were healthier before, I didn't have a hammer toe, but now, only God knows how I can find a specialist who can fix the awful, botched job that Dr Voloshin performed on me. I'm only 37.On top of it all, I am not able to do any sports or physical activity because of the amount of pain I'm in and stiffness of my toes.I'm destroyed. By the time I saw the doctor, it was almost 12:30PM and I was irritated. What is the point of making an appointment if I have to wait that long? When I finally met the doctor, I realized why he was delayed. He's super friendly and accommodating. He made me feel very comfortable from the beginning by engaging in small talk. He also seemed to know all of his patients. "Hey how was your vacation? I hope you had good beer!" The doctor took some xrays and gave a diagnosis. There's a reason why this place has so many good reviews. Dr Belli is extremely thorough. He asked numerous questions and did multiple tests. He spent close to an hour explaining my symptoms and showed how to relieve/stretch the areas of pain. Dr Belli might be one of the nicest doctors in New York. He loves what he does and he's very good at what he does but I wouldn't mind if he kept the small talk to a minimum. The wait was super long and I left his office close to 1:30pm.
