I've had mixed experiences at both fo their locations.
Most of the time it was oil changes. But recently, I had to have an alignment done at their S Valley Forge Rd location. The alignment seemed fine, but I also specifically asked them through their online appointment system to check for a rattle I was hearing in my car while driving. When I went to pick up the car, I asked about the rattle and I was told they didn't check for it. I asked if they checked my notes on my appointment and they said no. I thought, ok, not a big deal as it could have been easy to miss and didn't seem detrimental to the drivability of the car. Checked the invoice and saw that they replaced a bulb in the car. The price was negligible, but kind of weird they didn't mention this at all, nor did I request this to be changed. Bulbs are an easy fix so I could have simple replaced it. The workers also did not wear masks nor did they enforced anyone coming in and out to wear masks.
More recently, I had to replace a damaged wheel and made an appointment at their Allentown Rd location. Went here thinking maybe they would be better with the mask requirement, and while I did see a couple of the workers wearing masks when facing customers inside, the guy at the counter did not have a mask on, which didn't really make sense but fine, I'll stay outside to wait for my car. Brought a new wheel for them to mount and balance and to transfer the existing tire pressure monitor sensor. After getting the car back and driving away, I noticed the tire pressure light was one. I thought maybe it would go away after driving a bit in hopes the sensor would relearn but after running a few errands, noticed the light was still on. I called the shop about it and they said to bring it back and they would take a look. After taking the car back, one of the mechanics came out and checked the sensor on the replacement and said it seemed like the sensor wasn't working right. He went back in to talk to his boss, then took the car into the shop bay. After a few minutes, he came back out and said the car was all ready. When I went to the counter, only then was I told they had replaced the sensor "out of the goodness of their heart" even though the sensor was fine before I went in. All 4 tire sensors were bought and installed within the last few weeks elsewhere and were all working fine until I had the new wheel mounted at theri shop. While the new sensor seems to work, my original brand new sensor was a metal valve sensor and they had replaced it with a cheaper rubber one. I found it odd that they thought they were doing me a favor to fix the issue that seems to have occurred when they did work on my car, and on top of that, they wouldn't give me my sensor back. Furthermore, the fact that they didn't bother to tell me they were going to replace a sensor was a bit disappointing. While I appreciate them fixing the issues of the TPMS light being on, to replace a part with another cheaper part without getting approval from the owner even if it wasn't charged (as it shouldn't have been) and "out of the goodness of their heart" seems a bit odd.
Ultimately, these guys seem to want to work on your car and assume they know best without touching base with the owner. While both instances are for smaller issues, its just weird that they would go ahead and just change things out without letting the owner know.
I might be hesitant to book another appointment at these spots in the future. I moved to the area only a few years ago and was really hoping these guys would be a permanent staple in our household, but sadly, these experiences makes me second guess my decision. read more
