We never had a problem with them. They are honest and don't add issues like other auto service does. Save Your Car - Avoid Murray's Tire & Automotive My husband's family has used Murray's, a small auto shop, for several years. They have purchased tires, gotten cars inspected, had oil changed, and some other work, as well. Recently, I brought my Jeep Wrangler to Murray's for a state inspection in March. The inspection revealed that I needed new brakes, so our bill was over $600 for the inspection and new brakes. A few weeks later, in April, I noticed that the "check engine" light was illuminated when I started up the car. Once we started moving, the car was sputtering, as well, so we took it back to Murray's. The verdict: only 5 of the 6 cylinders were firing. They notified me that they were replacing the spark plugs, starter and putting in a new engine coil. We paid over $500 on April 17th for all this additional work. Two weeks later May 2nd, we took the Jeep out for a drive, since it was such a nice day. About 10 miles from home, the car broke down and just stopped working as we were rolling up to a traffic light. Luckily, we were able to push it to the side of the road. AAA arrived and jumped the car. The AAA technician stated that said my starter "looked really old." My starter should have looked brand new, as Murray's supposedly replaced it just two weeks prior. We got the Jeep to Murrays, and on the morning of May 4th (two days later), the owner Mike Murray told me that I needed a new engine, as there was no oil in the jeep. I told him what AAA told me about the starter, and he said "those guys are always wrong," referring to AAA. I then proceeded to ask about why there wasn't any oil in the jeep, as the Jeep had been in the shop multiple times in the month and a half leading up to the current issue. Mike Murray told me that "it's not [his] job to check the oil unless [he is] doing an oil change." I was not due for an oil change for another 1,000 miles. I also hadn't driven more than 50 miles since I had gotten it out of the shop, so where did the oil go? It does not add up. My husband got on the phone with Mike to ask more questions, and Mike said he would get back to us with an estimate. This was on Monday, May 4th. Because we still had not heard from him, my husband went to Murray's to check in on Thursday, May 7th. When my husband got there, Mike Murray said he was waiting to hear from us about what he wanted to do. I am not sure why he would be sitting around waiting for us to call him when we were told he would call us with an estimate a few days prior. My husband asked more questions about why the oil wasn't checked, and how it couldn't have been gone or leaking since there are no oil leak spots in our parking lot. How could all the oil disappear when we have barely driven the car. Mike Murray then says, "You teach right? Your wife is like a high school student, they don't listen well." My husband says, "Are you saying my wife can't listen, because I was actually on the phone when you spoke with her." Mike Murray says, "Well then, you both can't listen." We subsequently took the car to another mechanic, who miraculously found oil in the Jeep. He thinks this shop added oil after to the fact to cover up their mistakes. Our new mechanic, also let us know that this isn't the first time, he's seen cars messed up by Murrays Automotive. They've had several new customers due to the mistakes Murrays makes, and will never own up to. Overall, this experience with Murray's Automotive and especially with owner Mike Murray has been wholly negative, frustrating, and overly expensive. The repair history that he claims to have provided does not add up given the current issues. Moreover, his lack of professionalism was exhausting to deal with and is just unacceptable. He attacked my husband and I's intelligence and listening skills, which is obviously no way to speak to a customer. Our interactions have been honestly ridiculou. We will never use Murray's Automotive again. read more

I took my 2011 Range Rover Sport to this garage last week, after another garage told me that they could not patch a tire on a 20" wheel. So luckily I stumbled upon these guys, and they were more than willing to help me out. Not only did they do an amazing job, but I was on my way in less than 30 min. Today I went to the shop again, to get another tire patched, and same result, I was greeted politely, and they had me back on the road in less than 30min. I take my car to Murray's to get my oil changed while I'm at work, it's a couple blocks away I can take it pay for it and pick it up after they close and they're always very good about it, they also charge less than anywhere else for an oil change and my car is never a mess when I get it back. Today I took my car there for a different problem, on my way to work I discovered that my headlight had blown out. Not having enough time to do it on my own in the next few days I took it to Murrays. My car is a pain in the neck to do the bulb replacements on having done it myself and based on what every auto mechanic has told me since I got it. The going rate most places is about $100-$130 dollars depending on whether you bring the bulb or they get it for you but 2hrs of labor isn't unheard of. When I went to pick the car up they had charged me less than 25 dollars to do it because someone there new a faster way to do it and they didn't rip me off on the labor. It's always so nice dealing with the people here, all the mechanics are incredibly personable as is the woman who runs the office. I have never in a couple years had an experience there that would make me think they deserve anything less than 5 stars. read more

Took my car to get 2 new tires. They put the new ones in the front and rotated the old ones to the back. Job was done quickly and for a good price . Got a flat on the highway (one of the old tires) and AAA, a mechanic couldn't get the tire off. Finally a tire specialist got it off with difficulty. A few weeks later the ford dealer serviced the car and they said the lugs were torqued down so hard they had to cut off three of the nuts... I went back to Murray's to talk to the owner about it and he in a round about way called me a liar and said he didn't tighten them down too hard and blew me off . Needless to say , I will never go back there again , nor would I recommend anyone else to either . Poor customer relations, below par work. Go anywhere else , but avoid Murray's . Sad to say , since I typically support small shops , but avoid this one . read more

Got a flat tire from the day before that I needed patched, so I took it to Murray's. He asked if I wanted to wait or come back, I had a couple things to do so I opted for swinging back in after an hour (I'm sure if I had waited it would have been quicker). I stopped back in after an hour and the wheel was waiting for me, patched, and ready to go. He even offered to switch out my spare, which I took him up on and I was back off and running 5 minutes after I had pulled in. Top notch service and greatly appreciated! read more

While driving through Lansdale, PA on a business trip I hit a curb hard and ruined both the right front passenger side tire on our 2012 Volvo wagon and the wheel. According to Volvo a replacement wheel would be $700. We Yelped and found Murray's Tire & Auto was the closest garage. They quickly arranged a tow, located a very reasonably priced preowned replacement wheel, installed a new tire, and aligned the front end. I have 5 cars in my household and this business has kept them on the road in the best possible condition for years. They have taken care of our 2006 Honda Pilot that now has 230,000 miles on it. We also have a new Honda Civic and I will trust them, not the dealership, with all the maintenance and tires from here on out. Last we have 3 used cars for our young adult drivers. You name it we and Murray's garage has seen and fixed it. They are not only professional in their dealings, but they also honest and reasonable in their pricing. I went to this place for inspection and to install a muffler. When I picked up car and drove home there was a loud noise. Took car back and these idiots there said no worries it's just a heat shield making that noise and nothing to worry about. They installed and knew it would make,this sound. They did not offer to fix and was rude to me when I asked them to fix it. They would not fix it for me !!!!! Never take your car there. read more
