But a friend who likes to walk there too, offered me the option to do it today. She used to live nearby Viele Lake but now has moved to my neighborhood. We headed out mid-morning and though it was a cool, slightly wet start, it warmed up quite quickly when the sun was fully out. My friend had heard that there was a heron in residence this year and we found it on our first turn. We also saw a tree near the bridge that had snagged some debris from fishing supplies. I was unaware that fishing is allowed there. The view of the Flatirons backdrop of Boulder is fully complete from this lakeside path. It's especially beautiful at sunrise and sunset. Unfortunately, like most summers, there were a lot of droppings from the resident geese. Beware, even on paved surfaces.

I love the location, alongside a marshy area with lots of light, fresh plants and shade. There's a nice short loop to walk, and some facilities around as well. The other dogs were friendly and my dog had fun walking around the path. There was a bit of water around but that's usually normal after snow. Great stop for a quick break or play time!

We've visited this park a few times and unfortunately this most recent experience was less than…read moreideal. We brought our kids who are young but capable at throwing discs. They are learning the rules of disc golf and getting quite good. We typically skip hole 5 due to the extreme blind throw over the creek and the kids just can't quite throw that hard yet. This particular day was quite busy and we were doing our best to ensure we weren't holding up the people behind us. We skipped hole 5 again and waited behind a couple of people at hole 6. A group came up after us and when it was our turn, they stepped up in front of us as if take their turn. I was confused but tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and said it's ok if you go ahead of us. The man immediately and argumentatively harassed us for having cut the line. My husband stepped in and tried to diffuse the situation, while trying to understand how he came to accuse us of cutting when that was precisely what he'd just done. Apparently he saw us skip hole 5 and didn't understand why and thought we just didn't want to wait. I completely under this point of view but unfortunately he wouldn't let us explain and essentially screamed at us until we decided to walk away. It was a truly unpleasant experience and I feel as though we could have discussed it more civilly but were never given the chance. I haven't ever encountered anyone that passionate about playing every hole, but with kids that's just not possible. I hope we are able to visit again and put this behind us but I suppose I just want others to be aware that there are players who feel strongly about certain aspects of this course. Overall it's a decent course with lots walking which is the part we previously enjoyed.

This park has a great view of some mountains in the distant background and multiple physical activity opportunities for people of abilities the path is wheelchair accessible bicycle welcome and dog friendly. The path is mostly Gravel with no major impossible rats and looks very well maintained there are benches throughout. Just not the initial part where my mom needed one so she turned around and went back. A time was had by all.

Aside from the 18 long holes of the Badlands, and near holes 12 and 13 is the start of the hidden Blair Witch Project disc golf course. Aptly named after its environment of thick trees and pathless route, the holes are almost always impossible to see from the tee pads. Nevertheless a ride and full of challenges and good fun this course is all its own. Combined with the Badlands 18, you're in for a treat and a long day. I shamelessly recommend running this course first with someone who knows it. Otherwise, like me, you have to walk the entirety of each hole before driving.

They also routinely have disk golf tournaments on TV but will put on big baseball, football, or hockey games on as necessary too. A large amount of disks are available as well as a large number of disk bags. Plenty of shirts, hats, and assorted disk golf accessories. Even some discontinued or older miscellaneous disks you can grab for $5-10 if you don't want to venture into $25-40 territory. Not to mention the Another Round staff on hand that can give you game tips as well as point you to other nearby disk golf courses. A nearby course? Johnny Roberts / Wolf Creek is right around the corner. Grab a beer. Play some golf. Not a bad location for both. Even if you just want to hang out and talk shop. You'll find a few other disk golf stores in the local area but it really seems that Another Round is doing it best. They also have small buy in tournaments or challenges as well as larger events here. Be sure to peep their social media or stop into either location for specifics on that. Not a bad spot to pick up a few new disks or try your hand at frisbee golf. They also have a rewards program that works between stores to save you some coin.

The bartenders and patrons were all very friendly. We came at 6pm in June and the dog park section was nicely shaded. Such a relief after a very warm day in the front range. In the dog park there are water bowls available to keep your dog hydrated while they're playing with all of their newly made friends! I particularly loved how laid back this dog park/bar is. Will definitely be back when I'm in the area!

Specifically the fact it was open and not a lot of places to lose a disc / easy to find your disc. In North Carolina and Florida the underbrush was very thick and full of animals! Said we needed pants because of the wild grass on the course. Dads perspective - also liked you couldn't really lose a disc for both he and I! From a course perspective it was great. Great course map and tee maps Elevation changes Blind approaches Shots between trees (the few there are in Colorado) Scenic overlooks Baskets had arrows pointing to the next hole Handicap accessible port-o-pottie

Not sure how this title got awarded to me by a bunch of strangers in my class, but somehow Buzz (one of the teachers) thinks that Kyla and I strip. Kyla and I are the youngest students in the class by about 30 years, and, well, how can I say this nicely, this isn't the classiest of courses to take... but for $80 what can you expect? Bring your humor and your creativity and you can get a lot out of a class like this. I scored high on my mom's "Who is my favorite child this holiday list" because I made her a turquoise pendent for Mother's day/her 60th birthday. The same group of teachers have been putting on the class for the past 30 years, and although some of them seem a bit grouchy, tired and pissed that we are all there... I think they have fun teaching us. $80 is the cost of the course, and it buys you 10 different days of two-hour classes and you get to make three different projects: a pendent, a lightning bolt bracelet, and a box ring. This class takes a lot of patience and attention to detail... You will especially fit in nicely if you wear overalls and bring your toolbox full of jewelry making tools.... Kyla instead found me a purple caboodle that is in great condition, and this has worked just great... Except nobody seems to know what a caboodle is in the class. This class is not acceptable for people who get very competitive because there will always be that person who has worked on the sawing of their silver while they were home watching "Dancing with the Stars" this past week, and you will always be behind them, so don't even try. Overall, this is a great way to awaken on your creative side and do something different. And men, don't be shy, there are tons of gents in the class... And a guy that knows how to make jewelry will always get you extra brownie points. Hyland Hills also offers other exciting creative adventures such as: Skydiving simulator, tap dance, or disc golf... among other goodies and adventures. * Star one is for offering a creative outlet to the public that is affordable, accessible and instructive ** Meet star number two, he is presented to the sliversmithing class for allowing me to become an amateur stripper... Hey, where are the tips anyway? *** Star three is for the opportunity to make jewelry on equipment that is hard to have access to otherwise Star four was stolen due to the lack of sexiness in the class...
