Paid nearly £700 for cheap looking, flimsy curtains! I waited nearly 2 months for these curtains…read more As you can see from the pictures they look awful and make my living room look like a slum. Here are the issues: 1. When I asked for a replacement or refund, they made me send in pictures which I did after hours of being told they couldn't open the email or the pictures. When this problem was eventually rectified (after 4 phonically speaking to 4 different people), I was told they would not offer me a replacement or a refund as I had agreed to have these curtains at the point of sale, and there was no manufacturing fault. I told them that their swatches are not reflective of their finished product, to which they just disagreed. Therefore, they basically put the blame on the customer and advisor. 2. Obstructive, blocking customer service tactics. When I asked them to put me through to a manager, they refused stating that they had spoken to a manager. I have never heard of a customer services department blocking a customer from speaking to a manager in person. 3. I told them that most other reputable companies give customers at least a few days grace to be able to return products they are not happy with, within the first few days of purchase, regardless of whether there was a manufacturing fault or not. Again, Hillarys were not interested. I am so embarrassed to have these curtains hanging in my window that I have taken them down and put the old ones up. This is disgusting treatment from a company towards a customer and I strongly advise anybody to steer well clear from Hillarys as their customer aftercare is absolutely shocking. Giving this company 1 star is far too generous.

We made it clear we were not ready to purchase as we were having building work done. The sales rep/fitter came and measured up, he suggested that we purchase now as they were in a sale. He said that they would be delivered to him and he would keep them for as long as it took and he would fit them when we were ready. So we agreed and went ahead with the purchase. When we were ready I telephoned and left a message for the fitter to arrange for the blinds to be fitted, I got no reply. I then rang Hillary's themselves. I was told that the rep had returned the voiles to them 12 months after the purchase date and we would have to choose a different set as our original choice had been discontinued. I asked the following questions Why had the voiles ect been returned to the warehouse Why hadn't the rep contacted us, he had our phone number When the voiles ect were returned to Hillary's why hadn't they contacted us Where are the voiles ect now. Nobody has or is prepared to answer these questions. It's disgusting and poor business practice. Surely a company like this should have a stock trail and should know we're stock is or has been moved to or SOLD. So why will they not answer our questions. We have now been offered our money back. I pointed out that the voiles were purchased 2 years ago and would be a lot more expensive now. it would be a gesture of good faith to compensate us, the difference in price from 2 years ago to now, bearing in mind that none of this is our fault. Hillary's are ignoring this. So to summarise Hillary's have had our money and the voiles for 2 years and if they have been resold they have been paid twice for the same item. I would think very seriously before doing business with this company. They think they are autonomous, and there business practices are unethical.

Well where do I start! First of all the 1st time I was booked in for the blinds to be fitted, the…read moreliving room had been made with the measurements the opposite way around. Then 4 weeks later I had a problem with the blinds fraying. I messaged them with photos and a message explaining exactly which room and slats where at fault, I have proof of these messages, but apparently I said they where all faulty! I was told I could either keep the same fabric then if I had any more problems that I could choose a different frabic as it would be a faulty batch. They choose to replace all my blind which I was grzatful for but it was the same material as I loved the colour and pattern. When they were changing them the living room didn't fit again as they cut it to the 1st measurements. Low a behold I've had problems again and they won't let me change the fabric as they first said they would if problems continued, they will only replace the faulty slats. What about being told of 2 different members of staff members about the faulty material? This is now being dismissed. I've had nothing but problems and the manager has told me 'it's down to the usage of the blinds'. So I said basically your blaming me on how I use them and his answer was yes! How on earth is it possible to use them incorrectly? I have 10 plus years experience in customer service and I would never put the phone down on a customer like he did to me. Not even a apology when I called back up. If it was me I would have said sorry I've said all I have to say, I'm going to end the call. Nope nothing he (Derek) put the phone down while I was taking. This is so unprofessional and rude. Please be very cautious if buying from this company. You get what you pay for! Cheap cheaper cheap! I will stick to Hillarys in the future. If I could have I wouldn't have even left one star.

Unfortunately this 'business' is a con, a scam - they supply you with boxed products that look…read morecomplete but when you open them up, there are parts missing. If you contact them to ask for the missing parts, they ignore you. They may be cheap, but that's because they don't care about their customers or their families. Avoid this so-called business like the plague.
