I bought an induction hob from Gotchs in Selby and had it fitted by them in October this year…read more within two months the hob made a loud banging noise, caused a fuse to go and broke. Whilst outside the 30 day right to refund and return stipulated under the 2015 Consumer Act this is well within the six month period in which it is the retailers responsibility, not the manufacturers, to either fix or replace the item. Gotchs failed to recognize this and told us we had to go to the manufacturer. This is very unhelpful and I'll-informed customer service. This really does need rectifying as Gotchs will lose customers.

Gotch's of Selby ltd, is situated on the corner of Micklegate and finkle street. There is no…read morecustomer car park but there are a few pick up spaces outside the store and a fair sized pay-and-display car park opposite. Gotch's is an electrical store selling very much what you would expect in the likes of Curry's on Gowthorpe. Gotch's is a family run business that has built up a good reputation amongst the locals not only for its goods but also for it excellent sales and after sales service. The Interior is larger than you would think with a range of house hold appliances as well as ranges in TV's and music. In the past we have brought a freezer and a tumble dryer, and that's even after shopping around for prices. The prices are too similar to bother with the big companies and its nice to support a Selby business over the national stores.

I went in to this niche little electronics shop in Headingley with a friend who had just moved into…read morea new flat - he was looking for some kind of funky speaker system to pimp out his living room, and although we left without actually buying anything, I felt I had to give this place a review. The guys working here are very friendly, and you get the impression that they treat every customer differently, and with great care - they try to pander to your every custom-made need, whether you want a simple speaker set, or a full multi-room entertainment system installed. You can tell they have a real passion for making people enjoy home entertainment, but as they stock specialist products and offer such a fine taylor-made service, the prices may put you off. I plan to return here when I have more money than sense. One day...

I've been buying my audio goodies from this shop for 35 years…read more The first sytem they built for me lasted 25 years! I then made the erorr of buying stuff from somewhere else which lasted only a rubbish 5 years! So I returned to Audio Projects 5 years ago, and guess what, tho technology's changed, you still get the best advice, the most helpful, personal customer service, and the most amazing, durable, quality products (and Bill is still there too!). They are probably a bit more expensive in the short term, but will work out cheaper in the longer term because they LAST. And they are the best your ears will ever hear. It's very rare these days to still have around shops like this - small independents which care - about their customers, their service and their products. Use em and treasure em people, or you could lose em...
