The staff were very knowledgeable and polite, if not a little too helpful to sell extras like cables, surge plug thingies ( I blew it there..) and extended warranties. But if you research your stuff there are real bargains to be had in these difficult times; and remember each sales staff has a quota to fill. For a small store it is surprising just how many TV's, computers, washing machine, dishwashers, toaster, kettles and gaming products you can fit in there. As a positive Curry's can order in any model in their larger stores and instead of waiting half and hour to be served the small store insures there are staff available to help you.

Although still selling parts and equipment such as soldering irons and all manner of switches and sockets, they have branched out into toys, games, and audio/video equipment as well as computer upgrades. If you are looking for a cable to connect your new TV to your gaming system, then maplin's probably have it in stock cheaper than your local electronic superstore. Although the wide range of products offered has 'watered down' the maplin store slightly, it is still a treasure-trove for out-of-the-ordinary electronic items and weird and wonderful bits you won't find anywhere else.

I don't often write bad reviews but here goes…read more Working as an assistant to a CEO turning over millions, I was given the task of finding a UK to India adapter as my boss is leaving for India tomorrow. Phoned a number of stores in Leeds as it was easier for me to commute to, with no success. Decided to try Maplins in Bradford after Maplins in Leeds suggested the idea. After waiting on the phone for 13 minutes to speak to someone in store found they had one, yay! So I reserved it. Arrived in Bradford, couldn't find the store so phoned them - another 7 minute wait. When I entered the store the item I had reserved earlier was produced only to find it was an India to UK adapter! I explained that wasn't what I asked for and that I'd emphasised on the phone it needed to be the other way round ie UK to India adapter. What a waste of a journey, waste of time queuing on the phone and left without even an apology. Sorry but you really need to brush up on all sorts here Maplins.

Robinsons has a good stock of washing machines, tumble driers, fridges, freezer, hoovers etc at…read morereasonable prices. You can also get hoover bags and tumble drier hose replacements and the like from this shop. Robinsons often has bargain items such as second hand but top condition washers, hoovers and other electrical (mainly kitchen) items in the window. Situated next to the Ritz cinema it doesn't have its own parking but customers can park in the nearby town square or pull up along the road to load larger items. Robinsons has been going for many years and I have never heard a bad thing about the service, the products or the prices. Definitely worth a look.

The shop is only a few years old but is already firmly established with in the local community if you wanted a fireplace or stove. There is some parking outside the store but more if you park down one of the side roads. The shop offer good quality but competitive prices gas and stove fires. We recently went with some friends to look at coal and log burners in an attempt to reduce the present gas and electric prices. Although they had sold out of the style we wanted a near match was found or we could wait for fire to be restockedit seems we are all thinking along the same lines. The staff were great offering a full service if required, from building work, gas pipes removing to installing the log burner.
