I literally stumbled through the doors of Boyes , Bridlington, accompanied by a very cheeky sea-gul much to the horror of the store assistant on a recent holidaybreak. The seagul made a quick exit again through the nearest open door looking as flapped and flustered as the assistant (she looked even more bemused when my husband said, don't worry love he's with me!) and I think I emerged about 2 hours later (husband and child long gone). The store is over many floors but I spent the majority of my time there on the top floor where there is a 'scrummy' range of home interiors accessories. Everything from clocks to vases, candles to ornamental cars, picture frames and wall art. Nothing tacky, everything colour co-ordinated with many on-trend articles. There was everything you could think of to accessorize your home to show house standard. All the kinds of things that you see in stunning show homes and think to yourself where did they get that from?! Good job our car was crammed with everything you need to take two adults and a two year old on a self catering holiday or I'd have bought the whole store home! I did manage to find room for a cake timer though in the shape of a cup-cake. Glanced at the museum and the resatuarant but I'm afraid I can't comment on either as I was far too distracted with all the lovely, pretty, glittery things. I'll definately be back and I might just make it Christmas to see the window displays, based on the review dated 29 January 2009. read more
