This school is awesome. We have had all three kids attend here so far and they all love it here…read more The staff is very friendly and courteous. When picking up your children that attend here, try to avoid the parking lot since it gets jammed every day after school. Maybe the reason for that is because most people don't realize that there is actually two lanes coming out of the exit and everyone just jams down the middle. The preschool on the north side of the school is also wonderful.

They are welcoming and respectful. We are lucky to have landed in this class. My daughter has life long friends. Some since 2nd grade and some as new as 6th grade. I have a 6th grader who has learning g needs and the school works tirelessly to help him and meet him where he's at. We would recommend this school 100% to all families. I know both of my kids will leave prepared for high school. We found the previous principal fair, caring, and understanding but also realistic. We are thankful to have had her as long as we did. The current principal, while new, seems approachable, knowledgeable, and caring. The middle school staff is fantastic! The resource teacher is also amazing. Kids can struggle and as a parent that's hard but I know my kids are better for everything they have overcome and accomplished. As parents we have tried to be as welcoming as possible to all new families because we know being new can be hard and because we were welcomed. Love our school and we are sad to know we have just a little over 2 years left.

I graduated from this high school in 2012…read more It was a great school! The campus was nice. Sometime in sophomore year, they built a new gym which was dedicated to one of the coaches. They also built a new library sometime in my junior year. Both places were pretty nice. I loved all of my teachers (I was in Special Ed, but I took some General Ed classes)! The staff there were also very friendly as well. The reason I chose this school was because my old friends wanted to go there, but I made new friends there too. My absolute favorite teachers were Mrs. Lorge, Mr. Kaul, and Ms. Uno. Sadly, the latter two retired after I graduated, but they were very awesome! I enjoyed spending my four years at this school.

The Montessori curriculum combined with the four fantastic teachers would be unmatched elsewhere. Our daughter has had the most WONDERFUL past year here. She is learning an incredible amount -- academically, practically, and interpersonally. The teachers are absolute gems who are professionals in every sense of the word and foster the most warm and supportive environment for the kids. The Montessori curriculum lets kids thrive in their independence within a structured, orderly & prepared environment. I am in awe of what our daughter has been able to do, even at such a young age. This school is so special to us & I consider it a staple of our Rocklin community!

A damaging experience I would never repeat…read more I am deeply sorry to hear that children are still having experiences similar to what my son endured at St. Albans more than twenty years ago. Our family's experience with the school could not have been worse. What we were told during the enrollment process did not match the reality we encountered. In addition to tuition, families were expected to make substantial financial contributions and fulfill significant volunteer-hour requirements. As a single parent, I was unable to meet all of those demands. As a result, I felt my son was singled out and ostracized--not by the other students or their parents, but by the school administration itself. My son was labeled "too active." In his class, I felt that boys were often judged more harshly for displaying normal childhood energy, while children who could immediately sit quietly and conform were treated as the ideal. Although my son was not expelled, I ultimately and willingly removed him because I believed the environment had become toxic and damaging to his confidence. In my experience, school officials were unwilling to work constructively with children who did not fit their narrow definition of the "perfect student." The culture felt arrogant, inflexible, and dismissive of individual differences. The academic expectations were also unreasonable. No fourth grader should routinely be assigned three to four hours of homework each night. I was also extremely unhappy with the poor-quality, unhealthy food served during after-school care. My strongest advice to parents is to find a school that leads with kindness, patience, compassion, and a genuine willingness to support each child as an individual. Based on our family's experience, St. Albans was unequivocally not that place.
