Today I took a rainy drive to Carmichael to the Sacramento Fine Arts Center. Parking was easy, but…read moreI didn't get the closest spot to the door this time. The Sacramento Fine Arts Center was extremely busy today, as you can tell by the number of cars in their parking lot. People were meeting with the director going over the available space and others were in the galleries. They have a nice gallery with filled with local artists artwork. They are all juried so you only get to see the best of the best of local artists. Today's painting with paper class was taught by Carol Hawkins. She teaches a monthly classes and plans them out a year in advance so you can get the dates from her. They are monthly on a Friday from 1-4pm. And $75 for the class. She takes Cash or Check. It includes all of this supplies. It's the only way I take classes these days. Buying your own supplies is over rated. You end up with extra supplies you will never use and a total waste of money. That's why I keep coming back for her classes. 1-4pm is the perfect time, you miss most of the traffic and it's during the day light. The only issue is trying to get time off from work, which is tricky. I do treasure my time taking art classes and I find this painting with paper class very enjoyable. I always come home with a wonderful piece of finished artwork. Not all classes are like this. Some classes they don't give you enough time to finish your projects so you end up with a pile of unfinished projects in the back of your closet. This isn't an easy class. You have to have a vision and work fast. There is some time to chit chat, but you also need to be very focused. It takes just the right artist to take this class. Carol also teaches an acrylic class on Saturdays twice a month 1-3pm. It's $35 All supplies included except for the canvas. She asks that you bring a 12x12 or a 11x14 canvas. I got a great deal on a pack of them at Hobby Lobby on sale. I need to take another acrylic class as I have several canvases pre purchased for the class. I don't need to get time off from work to go to the class, but I hate to spend the time away from my family on the weekend. I need to work on balance. I really love taking art classes and it's not always easy finding a good class that work into my schedule. I've taken so many art classes over the years that I've run out of wall space so now I have a gallery in my garage. Our garage is painted a light lavender color as that was the paint that they had on sale at Lowes. It's a great backdrop to my gallery. I hang up my painting with push pins to keep them secure. It works well for the light stretched canvases. The Sacramento FIne Arts Center also has a full community kitchen. I had lunch in it today. I brought my Tupperware full of delicious leftovers and used their microwave. They also have community coffeemakers so you can make several pots at a time for a gallery event. You are welcome to use their kitchen, just leave it how you found it or even cleaner. I hope to see you at the Sacramento Fine Arts center for the next painting with paper class or maybe we can surprise each other and show up at the acrylic class.

In my search it was tough finding classes that are offered after work or weekends and this class fit my schedule. Very diverse group of students and awesome teacher. The process for the package was affordable and the supplies needed were under $20.

This was my 2nd time coming to this gallery and my first art opening. I've been here once before to…read morecheck it out and they had a good show at that time. My girlfriend lives in Roseville and was thinking of joining there collaborative as she is an artist and is interested in fining a community to be a part of. From what I saw they show art work of local artists as part of the collaborative and in turn those artists volunteer their time to man the front desk and to assist at their events. It sounds like a nice set up to become involved without paying a lot of money to show your artwork in a gallery. I'm not part of it so don't quote me. Saturday, January 17th Event was: By Hand - An International Craft Nouveau Competition. We saw Crafts from all over the United States. We attended their opening reception. The show was juried by Harriete Estel Berman who picked 1-4th place and announced them while we were there. We got to mingle with the artists, enjoy some bites by Randy Peters, and listen to some wonderful live music. The art work was fabulous. My favorite was the handcrafted necklaces out of extremely light metal. I loved those pieces of art most because you can also wear them. I found the textile wall hangings fascinating. I quilt and it was amazing to see all the different patterns they stitched into their pieces of art. I loved the ceramics. I used to dabble in ceramics so it's wonderful to see people who have taken it to the next level and have show worthy pieces. My niece made us ramen bowls for Christmas. She made them on the wheel. If she keeps it up maybe one day she can show her work in a gallery. The bites. What a wonderful spread. I used to show in galleries and all we served was wine. Here they had a full spread, enough to call dinner. The main course was the beef sliders, the appetizers included stuffed mushrooms, puff pastries, and a pear and pumpkin or butternut squash purée. All was Devine. They even had some cookies and bars for dessert. I would definitely come back for another opening reception. And so will many others. I was surprised at how crowed it was at 5pm when it begin and it was crowed all the way up till the end at 7pm. I'm glad we go there early so we could partaken in all the goodness. If you are looking for something to do on a Saturday night check out one of their art openings. Or go anytime they are open to enjoy some beautiful artwork.

The camps did provide snacks for during their break. Our kid loved the class and brought home some fun work she did. Staff and teachers were friendly and great with the kids. The gallery itself is small but beautiful. There were fun art pieces to browse while waiting. They offer membership and monthly family activities. We'll definitely stop by the family day and hopefully sign up for another camp next year.

My first teacher was Mrs Dori who turned out to be one of my best‼ teachers I ever had. She will lift you up when u fall and she will encourage you when you feel exhausted. As you all probably know nursing program is not easy. Mrs Dori helped me to understand how to tackle my exams, how to think as a nurse and answer questions correctly. 99% of work students are doing on their own, but learning to critically think is never tough in the book. I have achieved my best results with all the lessons and tutoring that Mrs. Dori gave me If not her I would be struggling. She is one of the professors that loves her students and brings the best out of them. Mrs. Dori thank you very much for all the support and for all your kindness. I can not thank you enough my dear Dori. You helped me so much and you continue helping all your students that come to the program. Love you very much and may God bless your BIG .

I submitted…read moreinterest for LVN program- passed the initial exam test to see if you can even qualify to go there- told me i passed and could do the BSN program or LVN. I told them after thinking that i wanted to do the LVN program and got ghosted. Weeks went by and i called them and they told me to come in- so i did.. then they told me that if i paid the $150 for the lvn pre requisite required course that id have a seat in their program but id need to pay them $1900 within like 5 days from then. the $150 was to secure my spot. So i did.. then i paid the $1900 and i went through forms with them signing stuff with the enrollment rep and they didn't go over anything just told me to sign and go to the next page and sign again.. i had no idea what i was getting into. I end up doing the pre req course that's required for the lvn program. You need a 75% to pass the class and be eligible for the program but the instructor i got was indian and she was judging all of my assignments and saying my oral medical terminology assignments were said wrong then she'd send the "answers" in her words and she said it even worse than me.. my grade dropped so much just from having a bad professor. She accused me of using AI with no proof. I told them i wanted to stop the program mid way through and i wanted my money back as i was being accused of something i did not do with no justification. They told me i couldn't get my money back and that i had passed that deadline to be eligible to get my money back.. I HAD NO IDEA THERE WAS EVEN A DEADLINE AND THAT I COULDVE GOTTEN MY MONEY BACK BECAUSE THE ENROLLMENT REP RUSHED ME THRU ALL THE ENROLLMENT PAPERWORK. I ended up dropping because i knew id fail with the instructor i had. i went back and fourth with them for 2 weeks to see if i could get any type of refund. Their final answer was no. I do not recommend this school! it's a complete money grab! go to carrington or gurnik!! I wasted $1,900 and i'm literally barley making it by as is. What a sh*ty school!!! DO! NOT!! GO!! HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh also their CMA program is overpriced i became a CCMA for $1,200 in 3 months!!!!! Check out stepful instead of this crap pot.
