Twin Rivers Unified School District

What could improve Yelp ask? Everything!!!…read more I've worked for this district for over 10 years! Until today!!! I was a very good employee, good reviews and very good with students! At the end of that very toxic one sided work relationship I was denied a formal complaint, un heard, or cared about against a mentally and emotionally abusive teacher (Theresa Bradley) on a daily basis! There isn't an answer, well a logical answer for why she treated me that way but she did! Ive also reported abuse towards students from a IF in her class and got shut down and denied! I I would never and do never suggest or recommend people from applying and will continue to warn any and everyone that will and would ask! They don't care! They don't care about their employees, They don't care about our student! They just don't care about anything other than $! They have some of the most AWESOME teachers, Paras, Admins and campus workers and use and abuse them on a daily! I will miss those people dearly, I will miss those students more! I didn't work for TR for the money (God only knows they don't pay enough!) flipping burgers gets paid more! I simply and whole heartedly worked for this Students! When Ms. K was there they knew someone cared and had their backs! That's the part for me that hurts the most! As a mom I mothered each and every student that came into my life. When your student was with me you knew they were safe and loved! And most of the time very happy! So this is hard, very, very hard! Good bye TR you lost a real one! Sincerely Ms. K forever!!

Twin Rivers Unified is not only a horribly underfunded and lazily organized and completely…read moreunsupervised school district, it is downright dangerous. My son has been brutally emotionally and physically abused by his classmates across three classes and two Twin Rivers Unified schools over the last 3 years. AND NOT ONCE HAS THE SCHOOL ATTEMPTED TO PROTECT MY SON IN ANY REALISTIC OR MEANINGFUL WAY. They make false promises and safety plans with no intentions of following them. My son has been hit, kicked, STABBED with a sharp stick near his eyeballs and SPIT on. He has had to undergo Hepatitis and HIV screenings. Has come home with open bleeding wounds. And the school DOES NOT NOTIFY YOU THAT YOUR CHILD NEEDS MEDICAL ATTENTION. I am working on moving to a new school district. Your child would be safer enrolled in the infantry over in Bosnia.

This school sucks, the office never helps situations and only makes them worst. Worst 2 years of my…read morelife so far, this school has drug problems, fights, rude and disrespectful teens that have no manners; I dont know whats worse the teacher's attitude or the students. I will say the amount of opportunities here are amazing and graduating from here is only for the people who keep their head in books the whole time and who are not affected by the environment. The counseling office is so helpful and understanding though and help the students no matter what. Also the nursing program and media class are very helpful and can help with your future other then that .

Ha, I can't believe this is on here…read more Anyways, I am an EC Alumni who graduated in 2007 and was there my entire 4 year highschool career. If you're looking into this highschool for certain classes, they have your standard language classes, with Spanish and French. They took away Latin the year I wanted to take it though which was disappointing. Don't ask me about science classes or math, I hated both and scraped by on minimum credits when it came to these subjects. And English all 4 years was fun but my freshman teacher never liked me because I think she used to compare me to my older rowdier simblings, which was never fair. If you are aspiring in a career in art or music though, EC is the place to really be. You're allowed to take any of the art classes as long as you want, and the teachers are never afraid to let you excel and do what you really want to do. There was even a welding class I always wanted to take but never had time. I mainly took drawing/painting and ceramics while I was there as far as art and it was the best learning experience I've ever had. Anyway, I think Mr. Ratliff is still teaching ceramics and he teaches you everything you need to know and more. I'm taking ceramics in college and I seriously feel bored listening to the professor go on about things I already knew - that's how extensive his teaching goes. EC is also fun for it's guitar class, all kinds of choirs and fairly successful band classes. The only thing I hated was how unnecessarily strict they were when it came to certain things. I came from a MIDDLE SCHOOL of all places that allowed you to dye your hair any color you pleased, EC does not tolerate unnatural hair colors and will put you in Saturday school, which sucks. They were also much more strict with the dress codes. I felt like a child even at 18 for not being able to tdo something as simply dying my hair how I wanted. And if it seems like you're driving fast in the parking lot, they give you a speeding ticket issued by the highway patrol. I have friends who learned this the hard way who weren't even speeding. As far as the students, it was a great experience because EC wasn't one of those stereotypical "clique" schools. Sure I had weird hair, wore a studded belt and a band t-shirt, but I hung out with all kinds of kids who would probably be considered "preps", "jocks" or even "nerds." It also allowed me to make friends beyond the kids I went to middle or elementary school with which is great as well.
