Absolutely Awesome team at this surgical center. Had a wonderful experience . I had a little trouble finding it and called them the receptionist kindly stated on the phone with me to help me get the right directions . From the moment I arrived I was met with cheerful kind medical staff . DR Curry who gave me the injection in my spine was professional from my first initial visit to the day of my procedure . Can't say enough good things about this surgical centers staff and their level of care AWESOME read more

If I could give zero stars I would. This is a billing and revenue focused provider. This review is for the Oceanside location. So poorly treated that I can only speak to the Administrative staff which led me to cancelling surgery and leaving during pre-op. Patient care, rights and respect seem a far second, which then lessens or eliminates confidence in what patient care, safety and success of procedure will be. Administration/registration staff need to work in a different field or commit to doing serious training in communication with a focus on compassion, understanding and respect, better education about patient safety, DEI, knowledge of insurance and billing. Training in preparing the patient with full education of procedure needs and what procedure is being done, and registration requirements. Billing issues in particular should not be discussed once the patient is taken back for pre-op. Any registration processes should be fully resolved prior to pre-op. And should not be discussed when a patient is being prepared for surgery. If you want confidence in treatment, compassion, and respect, this is not the surgery center you should choose. "Front of house" so to speak, is the face and voice of your business; it sets the tone, respect and trust throughout the entire organization - this is including the nurses and doctors. read more

Excellent care received for a minor surgical procedure. Attentive and friendly staff, keeping you relaxed and at ease. Way easier than the tri-city hospital outpatient surgery. read more

Looking forward to enjoying long walks again! And LOOK! It might seem like a tote but it is a convenient cat carrier! Know that the irritated look on my cats face is because I am standing still for a picture. She loves to go on walks, enjoys being carried in a "bus" (aka- laundry basket, tote, box) and going for walks on her leash. Thanks for making this necessary proceeded less scary, and more comfortable and your high standard of professionalism. read more

I have had procedures since 1989 in numerous surgery centers all over San Diego. Of all places during that time, NCSC stands out miles above the others in terms of best service, best friendly helpful kind understanding staff, and just a great experience overall. I prefer this place to all others and will gladly drive 100+ miles again to return. They answered questions. They were relaxed and easy going. The atmosphere inside and the decor was more informal and preferred. Even my doctor was happier there compared to other locations. My procedure was the best it could ever have turned out to be. My pain was minimal, it was over faster than expected, and my chronic pain which often flares up afterward didn't this time--because of the care I received kept me from tensing up. I am especially appreciative of the anesthesiologist Dr B...? (sorry) an older woman who made us both feel at ease and, thank God, she understood my CRPS and handled my anesthesia expertly. The way I was prepped and not rushed into position also helped. Afterwards I was not rushed to leave. It was that good. read more

My 5 year old son had his tonsils and adenoids removed today. I was blown away by the care in this facility. It was a very tranquil environment unlike a hustle and bustle of a hospital. The entire staff could not have been nicer from Bea and the receptionists to the nurses and Doctors. Warm blankets, jokes, saving his favorite popsicle flavor. One of the nurses make Cars pillow cases for the kids to bring home. It was clean, organized, and so professional. I knew my son was receiving the best possible care. The pediatric anesthesiologist was incredible and spent 30 minutes answering my questions. Gladys and Ank, 2 of his nurses had the best bed side manners of any nurses I have encountered. So gentle and kind. Highly recommend for professionalism, warmth, and expert care. read more

I do not recommend this place, it's messy from start to finish, in very way.No one is on the same page as far as treatment, financial or even surgery status. read more

All of the staff were caring, kind, patient, thorough, helpful and worked today as a team. The instructions that I received were accurate and timely, adapting to the changing regulations accurately with compassion. Kala, Stacy, Deb, Deb, Gladys, Amanda, Dr Raggio and Dr Zenzen were all GREAT! This is my first choice for outpatient procedures. I highly recommend it for you too. read more

Everyone was wonderful. I felt so well-cared for. Everyone I came in contact with was so nice!

I was very impressed with the North Coast Surgery Center. The facility is very nice and the employees are cordial and professional. I've utilized outpatient surgery centers in Carlsbad, Scripts La Jolla and at the UCSD Jacobs center. They were all very nice, but the extra care and patient-centered "vibes" at the NCSC were just a little better than the rest. (I was there for cataract surgery.) read more

NORTH COAST SURGERY CENTER This is an atta boy for Dr Chen surgical doctor, and her team. Due to a prior botched surgery, I was extremely worried at having any surgery on my eye. When entering the surgical unit, I was treated extremely well and made comfortable. The complete surgical procedure was completed in less than thirty minutes. This included removal of a cataract and insertion of a new lens. I can not recommend more strongly Dr Chen and her surgical unit. They not only were extremely knowledgeable but exhibited both patients and sensitivity to my needs and concerns. Thanks Dr Chen and all of the individuals on your team. Robert Peters read more

Friendly, very professional, and caring staff. There was always someone there to take care of me during my entire visit. Cataract surgery is not a fun time but I cannot imagine a better place to have to experience it. I know I will forget someone as there were so many people taking care of me from front desk to post-op recovery and trip to parking lot but I want to give a shout out to Eduardo, Mikayla, Tracy, Andre, Yesenia, Allison, Marilynne, Dr. Johnson and Dr. Chen. Thanks to all! Will likely be returning for other eye in the near future. I highly recommend North Coast Surgery Center! read more

Awesome staff. Everyone was so nice to me. They made my visit easier by helping me through my anxiety. Thank you!

This review is for my wife's experience. Frances C. She absolutely loved everything about her experience here. Every time I come here every staff member is wonderful and very welcoming! The center is very clean, the rooms are individual rooms, secured and comfortable. The nurses guide you step by step are always willing to answer any questions. I have been here a few times for different procedures and I have yet to deal with someone who isn't professional or caring. If you are nervous about any procedure they will do what they can to ease your worries as much as they can within their control. Kudos to everyone here and keep up the amazing work read more

So I'm laying in bed 4 days post tonsilectomy (because really my wife has been right all these years and I'm just a big 8 year old). These guys did it right. Solid 5 stars. The good: a very friendly group of people that made getting surgery seem more like taking a trip then becoming the Thanksgiving Turkey. Everyone was pleasent... everything was first name basis. Can I get you another blanket Grant? Here sit over here this will be more comfortable Grant. Etc. Really took some of the sting out of the process and lowered the anxiety. Lots of joking, humor, friendliness. I needed that. The facility itself was very nice... clean, high end. Very quiet. Radiated competence. I was very pleased with the nurses, they were professional and personable. My post op nurse (Shelly) was a God send. More on her in a second. The only issue I had with the center was that in the waiting areas there were lots of boxes of medical supplies and they probably needed to live somewhere other then the waiting room. But after seeing the rest of the center, this was not a concern. My only issue was with the anesthesiologist. Which I'll get to in a second. But as both a patient and a paramedic I would have no issues returning here or sending a loved one. Very positive experience notwithstanding the below. So when I met with the anesthesiologist before the surgery... right before. I said let's talk post op pain control. I am 6'3" 250lb. Don't give me the same 200 mcgs of Fentyal that you give a 140 lb women and walk away. I need you to be aggressive. She promised. I said more over I have a 90 min drive back home so you need to come up with something that bridges that gap. Again she promised. Well I woke up 8/10 pain and the freaking anesthesiologist wouldn't budge off the 200mcgs. No dilauded. No MS04. Nada. Even my post op nurse (who as I said before was unbelievable) went after her multiple times. And seriously, if it weren't for that nurse and her kindness I would have clawed my throat out. She was right there next to me non stop for 90 mins. Finally she got so fed up she went and found some oral analgesic I could choke down (after about 30 mins of fighting with anesthesiologist). She (Shelly my post op nurse) made me toast, slushy water. Warm blankets. What did I need? Even if it was just to hold my hand. Fresh ice compresses for my neck. Every time she left to go get something she had a another nurse come stand near me. I mean she was an angel. I watched the other nurses off chatting in a corner, they were not doing this for their patients. So after I finish coming around and get ready for discharge they wheel me out and it's homeward bound. Look... surgery sucks. It's the nature of the beast. Was the anesthesiologist wrong? No. Could she have done better? Yes. But on the whole, these folks made it about as positive of an experience as it could be and I'm grateful. Id much rather be here then at a hospital. Solid 5 stars. And thank you Shelly! read more

My procedure went very well. Everyone is very kind. However as a health facility I do think that insisting on someone with heart and breathing problems wear a mask and restrict their breathing is dangerous and creates a health risk. Other than this I think it's an excellent facility. read more

I have been a patient at North Coast for several years and can't praise them highly enough for the exceptional care I've received during various "maintenance procedures" or minor surgical procedures. Every staff member obviously goes out of their way to take care of your needs from the moment you begin the sign-in process at the front desk, until you're escorted out the back door after your procedure. I've had several wonderful chats with the nursing staff while either waiting for my procedure or waiting to leave, and am quite fond of them for being interested in me and sharing our current life events. I doubt I could find a single negative thing to say about anyone at North Coast! read more

On Aug 12, they charged pre-arranged price of $820 for procedure. On Aug 26, they tried to bump the price up to $875 for the second procedure, similar to the first. I protested at the counter, and a manger agree to the original price. Six week later, at bill for $55 arrived in the mail. Gonna sue their asses in Small Claims Court for Triple Damages. Everyone was so friendly and comforting...the young lady who checked me in, my nurses, and anestheologist...everyone took such great care of me. You can tell this is a center that prides themselves on quality care, putting people at ease, and being extremely thorough in their work. I even had someone call and check up on me the day after my surgery to see how I was feeling and if I had any questions. A+ care! No one "likes" getting surgery, but I would recommend North Coast Surgery Center to any friend of family member if needed. read more

The entire staff was caring, thorough and friendly. From the private room with the warm blanket while waiting for my surgery, to the wonderful care, I felt pampered and well taken care of. If you have to have a surgery and have the opportunity to have it here, grab it! It sounds crazy to say you had a great surgery experience, but it was. I had 2 separate cataract surgeries and each time I was fussed oer and pampered, kept totally informed and well taken care of by every single person there. You have a cast of nurses and doctors walking you through each step, you are covered in warm blankets, given a nice "cocktail" to relax you, but able to wake up quickly afterwards with no ill effects. Then you are taken to a comfy recliner given a hot cup of coffee and a warm muffin and lots of post op instructions. I almost looked frward to the second time, joking with friends that it was better than working..Each time I was also sent a card by the team and from the comments it was obviously not a "standard" script. Everyone signed it and tere were some extra comments. Grt experience. read more

Very well staffed by competent friendly people Kept comfortable waiting for procedure. Good postoperative.

Good luck, take your patience pills. Twice I have been called and told a family member was ready for pickup. Well, that means nothing, they will wait till you take time off from work and drive there, then, they will ask you to take a seat in the waiting room and make you wait 45 min. (both times) for the patient who was "ready for pickup" 2 hrs. ago. They will have you wait and then get the patient ready for pickup. What they want is to involve you, the driver, with the post surgery instructions, so that post surgery care is "shared" by someone else besides the doctor and nurses. read more

I highly recommend this surgery center! The staff knew me by name as soon as I walked in the door and were so friendly! They had me ready and in a room with 20 minutes and soon after brought me a heated blanket and made sure I was more than comfortable. The nurses were so helpful and so happy pre op and the post op nurses made sure I was feeling ok as soon as I woke up. When I told them I was nauseous they immediately brought me medication which worked in minutes and they had drinks and crackers ready when I woke up. I was nervous walking to the operating room but they kept me calm and helped me so much as soon as I walked in. When I had questions they answered fully without judging (it was the first time I had surgery). I couldn't be more happy for choosing this center! read more
