In my opinion,the food was of very low quality. I can't think of a single item that I liked. I spent the whole time there discussing with my son how easy it would be to cook good tasting food, and how long established restaurants should have that ability, but I did not see it here. In 2003, we became loyal customers of North China Buffet. They have gone downhill in recent years, and the owner doesn't care about their loyal customers. We received cold orders several times recently. Last time we ordered, our order took 90 minutes to arrive. Upon arrival, it was cold. Rose, the owner of the business, assured us that she would make things right next time. As we went to order our meal tonight, she offered us a ten percent discount, which we found unacceptable when our last meal was cold. So tonight we placed a $45 order with Buffet garden. Being from montreal, we found the price here was great. probably too good to be true. even against our friends advice not to go here we decided to give it a shot. wowwwww. It was gross. general tao was FAR from crispy... mushy and a gross flavor.. most items didn't taste very good... we asked for a booster seat instead of a highchair but the owner thought my baby needs a highchair instead. wtf is that?!?! my daughter is 14 months, a booster seat is perfect anywhere else... the only thing we found good here was the coffee cake. and that was because it was the same one you can find in a grocery store. Sad because there aren't many Chinese buffets around and this one is definitely off our list. The variety and quality of the food has really declined especially since the new owners took over. They no longer have their grill open, and I was told because it was broken so they won't be fixing it. Despite the above, the prices have gone up. You can no longer access an up to date menu online or pricing. As of today there are a number of health violations for cleanliness and other issues. I was there Christmas day one hour after they opened and the turkey was pretty much gone and they didn't refill the whole time my family and I were there. I had some roast beef and I couldn't cut it, it was so tough. Very very disappointed in them and unless they improve in every way, I won't be going there or suggesting it to anybody. It's a buffet. It is what it is. For $10 you get all you can eat. The buffet features lots of fried foods, North American-style Chinese food, a handful of healthier options as well as ice cream, cakes and pastries for dessert. It was busy when we went there , so people in the area must appreciate it(Saturday lunch hour). I should mention: My elderly mother loved it. Visited today over the lunch hour. I thought the food would be fresh as they had just opened. Rice, noodles and carrot cake were all dried out. Worse part was the extra long hairs found in the Butterscotch ice cream. When it was pointed out to the manager little was done except stating ice cream came from Reids Dairy. No one checked what was still in the freezer. No offer to compensate until I was leaving, at which point manager said I will fix the bill. We headed for our vehicle thinking ok this stuff happens at which time our waitress came running out saying we hadn't paid the bill. I told her what had happened with the manager and seems fixing the bill for two people to her was $2 off the final bill. Lots of choice on the buffet lines ... pity that it all tastes more or less the same -- salty and fatty. Few vegetarian choices, and lots of mediocre "mainstream North American" food as well (leathery roast beef slices, fries, and mixed vegetables). Rather like a large and crowded university cafeteria. If you're a fan of the 'pack em in, stuff em full' variety of cuisine, this is for you! I'll give the North China kudos for a large buffet... it's got lots of 'stuff' on it for sure, it's just... not that good. It's one of those Chinese places that seems like a great idea and then about an hour later you remember why you only go to Chinese monster buffets once every year or two... Rather greasy, lots of fried stuff, and nothing with the distinct flavors that come when you take the time and care that decent cooking require. Another huge detractor for me was the dining room setup... They have crammed SO many tables into this monster wide open room (felt like I should hear someone shouting 'UNDER THE B.... 7') that every time you want to stand up you have to excuse yourself for running into someone or their chair. Not practical when you have to get up if you want to eat. If you want a cramp and enjoy Bingo halls this place is for you! read more

Best dishes are sashimi, grilled chicken or calamari, most of the veg on the buffet, tofu. Salad bar with good variety of salad items Minuses: Seating: You sit where THEY want you to sit for their convenience. not where you want to sit. Dinner plates are often wet, with water floating in the plate. Yuck. Lots of kids sticking their fingers in the food at the buffet. Staff is either friendly or unfriendly. Moody. Food goes from ok to mediocre to really bad. Lots of breading, some of which you can and should pick off. Almost everything is fried. Some of the meat dishes are so hard and tough they can only be chewed as much as possible and spit out. Weirdness: The roast beef has good flavour if you are able to cut it very thinly. Unfortunately the setup for that is completely ridiculous. The roast is sitting in a tub of liquid. You have to use a fork to try to fish the large piece of beef out of the water, sort of hold it up, and then slice it. Which is impossible as there is no place to put the beef while you slice, so you are sort of holding a big piece of beef in the air while you stab at it with a very dull knife. This usually results in pieces of beef flying through the air and landing on patrons. If you are unable to slice thinly, you may find that the beef is rather tough and not worth the ordeal of attempting to cut it. read more

Would have given 0 stars if that was an option!Took my family to dinner tonight as a treat and ended up having to argue with the owner. My daughter is allergic to seafood, so we stay away from anything that obviously has sea food as well as anything directly beside it. Because of this my daughter only eats the pan fried noodles and some broccoli, which she loves. Now today we went and they had seafood right beside the noodles...oh uh. So I asked them if possible to grab some that wasn't put out yet, they gladly did. Now as this food is mass produced due to the buffet you would think another plate wouldn't be a big deal right?! WRONG! They refused to make her another plate and said she could eat the ones at the buffet, I kindly explained to the owner that she couldn't eat them due to allergies. She still refused to make another plate stating they were too busy with take out orders and that my daughters first plate was considered a "take out order". I at this point am not very happy and I more sternly explain again why she can't eat the ones at the buffet and again she refuses. I then refused to pay for my daughters food at buffet cost as Now I have to take her elsewhere to grab her something else for dinner. The waitress who did up the bill, was not allowed to take her order off obviously and proceeded to try and charge for my daughter. Again i refused to pay, owner come back to till and then said i will pay for the "take out" she did eat. Ok ya whatever, least not full price for nothing. My daughter who has developmental disabilities now feels bad because and feels its her fault because she couldn't eat what was there and I fought with the owner, even though it's not her fault at all. North China Buffet is a popular spacious clean restaurant which offer Canadian and Chinese cuisine. The staff is courteous friendly hard working always accomodating to suit the individual's tastebuds. Their is a fresh huge salad bar, soup bar, entree/vegetable bar and dessert bar. They cater to diabetics since they offer no sugar vanilla ice cream. We have returned to Belleville many times to dine in North China Buffet! Come and enjoy the food yourself and you'll see... We have been here multiple times, but the last couple of times something is different. Maybe it's a new cook, or cost cutting but several things have changed and not for the better. Example, one of my favourites had been a straightforward hot shrimp in a light sauce. Now it's some sort of ggopy slop with awful fake crab mixed in to ad an unpleasant fishy taste . There are many other examples but I won't bore you. When it gets even mildly busy the attention to the food station is lacking. Example, they didn't have any soup spoons ... I took the last one and there wasn't any spoons for another 45 minutes. Seriously. The price creeps up every year but the quality control goes down accordingly read more

Alright so I was pretty pumped up for Chinese food last night and dragged my friend along with me. We got there and sat down, waitress came around and asked about drinks, then we went up and grabbed our shit. We weren't expecting it to be the best thing in the world because c'mon its a Chinese buffet in Belleville, but holy hell this shit was nasty. This place is just filled with awkward teenage waiters and broken dreams. My noodles were way overcooked to the point that they looked like tapeworms screaming for their mothers. I thought "hey maybe the dessert will be better, who could fuck up on icecream?", I'll let you know friends that yes, yes you can fuck up on ice cream. What a tragedy. Woke up this morning and actually almost vomited in the toilet, pretty sure the tapeworms are screaming inside of me. I'll let you know if I survive the week. Pro tip of the day: don't eat here unless you enjoy wasting your money on food that will make you hate your life. there was 7 adults in the party, we found the food selection to be great, hot food was hot, cold food was fresh. servers were excelent, one little problem was the seating, a little cramped. more room needed for large groups. otherwise service and food are a 10 out of 10. will surely return again. we have eaten at many buffets across southern ontario and this is one of the best. read more
