Me and my husband have been going here for about 3 years now as it is our favorite sushi restaurant. We travel about an hour to get to this establishment rather than going to one closer to us because we have always enjoyed the food and it's all you can eat. Unfortunately last night, our dining experience wasn't so great. The soya sauce tasted watered down... like horribly watery. The brand they use here is the same and only brand we buy at home. I know they re use the soya bottles and re fill them and that totally makes sense.. But to water down your soya sauce?? Really!!!? We waited about 20 mins before having any food served to us. And the rice on all of our sushi tasted over cooked. I'm so disappointed aji sai :( It breaks my heart to feel this way about you guys, and we will return again in good faith that this won't happen again. I'm giving 3 stars because you up until recently have never had any complaints from us...but If your soya sauce remains watered down thinking people won't notice, we will have to find a new sushi place as our go to. Please fix that, your guests can tell your trying to cut corners on money by serving them garbage !!! read more

I honestly hate leaving bad reviews, but my mom and I are both now dealing with what feels very much like food-poisoning symptoms after eating here, so I feel like people should know. We ordered the salmon teriyaki, beef teriyaki, gyoza, spring rolls, and tempura. Everything arrived rather cold. Right away, the tempura shrimp was a problem. It was just barely a notch above completely raw. The teriyaki dishes weren't any better; the sauce was thick and gelatinous, almost jelly-like, and really unappetizing. The salmon was cut so thin that it basically dried out just from cooking, so it ended up tough and bland instead of tender. Between the undercooked shrimp and the overall poor quality of everything else, this was an extremely disappointing and EXPENSIVE meal, and unfortunately we're now both feeling sick afterward. The food was horrible - their signature hand roll with soft shell crab was rotten- crab was sour and smelled bad! Seafood soup had the same sour flavour - not edible - clearly crab had gone bad. close walking distance to the worst hotel i have ever stayed at in my life so don't stay at the Ramada/Wyndham Conference Center. Pictures online do not do the place the injustice it deserves. Independent operation. Unfortunately our walk over to Aji San was not much better. Most staff there were speaking Chinese and it showed in authentic flavors at other Japanese restaurants. Chewiest piece of beef teriyaki ever. Salad was literally just a few rough chopped pieces of iceberg lettuce from near the core. This is my go to place for All-you-can-eat Japanese food in Belleville. The quality of the fish and sushi rolls are good for the price you pay. I like that they have a huge variety of Asian food choices from Pad Thai to Soba noodles. Great customer service as well and ordering with an iPad makes it way easier ! read more

Wow, great AYCE Japanese food in Belleville! Very clean, somewhat sparse, but spacious interior. Our tea, water and beverages arrived promptly. A very cool feature was using the IPad to view the menu and make our selections from the vast array of choices. In particular, the butterfish, spicy tuna sushi and inari (tofu skin) sushi really shone! The tempura and chicken katsu were also excellent. My dining companions strongly recommended the unagi (eel) at Aji Sai. I hesitated, because my previous encounters with unagi have not been good, so I ordered an unagi handroll and it actually was quite good! I would not make an entire meal of it, myself, but if you are an unagi lover, Aji Sai's eel would provide a good excuse to visit Belleville. At the end of the meal, in lieu of desert, one piece of the house tofu appetizer provided the perfect palate-cleanser for a luxurious and delicious dinner. I can't wait to find my next excuse to visit Belleville! A note to diners with special food needs: one of our party has several intolerances and allergies, and we needed to ensure that her dishes were separately prepared and served. My favourite AYCE sushi place in Belleville! Sushi, sashimi and hand rolls are top notch and made to order. Decor is excellent and service is very quick and professional. Definitely try the Aji Sai cake! Price is very reasonable for such a vast menu. I always leave here happy and there are lots of kid-friendly options and a great dessert menu is included in the price of your meal. Have been there a few time and service is awful. They are closing at 10 but you can expect them to start moping the floor at 9. (Pretty nice experience to have sushi with a strong smell of bleach). The establishment is fair. Your not going to impress your company with the decor. The men's bathroom is about as bad as a gas station in the middle of no where. Absolutely do not sit near the front Windows in the summer. The heat draws every single fly and they will annoy you beyond belief and quite frankly. ...it's gross. There is a great selection of food. But being an all you can eat buffet that is served to you...you will find you will get items you did not order and will not get items you have ordered. Best practice is to ask what something is if you are wondering if you ordered it. I have found that if is quite often slow in the kitchen/prep area and during peak hours you will be there over an hour and will get items brought To you every 8 to 10 minutes. It is a great price all you can eat sushi bar. If your hungry hit it up.....but don't leave any food on the table or you will be charged full price for the uneaten food...and it becomes pricey quickly. read more

The first Japanese restaurant I've been to. There are plenty of vegetarian/vegan options for the sushi (avocado rolls are my favourite) as well as these awesome deep-fried vegetables. It is all you can eat so you can literally try everything on the menu if you please. You can also try sake and Japanese wine. I didn't care for the particular wine, it tasted like cough syrup to be right honest so you're better trying the Ontario wines that are also on the wine list. Service was better than what other reviews are saying, but I guess it depends on who is working. read more

As a frequent traveler for work, I have visited this place a number of times on my way to Kingston. Short pit stop, grab some lunch and back on the road. I can say though, that this will be my last time at this restaurant. The quality is so bad now that some of the items are just gross. The sweet and sour chicken is some sort of deep fried long chicken thing, the breading is so gross and there's barely any chicken in it. The chicken teriyaki came out in a weird grey color. The taw fish was really warm on top of the rolls. The general chicken doesn't fast like anything that resembles what you think it should. Anyway, I could go on forever, stay away. Aji Sai in Belleville has top notch sushi, always fresh, flavourable, the sizes are above average for sashimi and the variety is great, I've eaten sushi from coast to coast, including one in Moose Jaw! The one DOWNFALL though is it has the worst service I have ever received. We go here at least 5 times a year and there hasn't being once that we've received all the food we've ordered, we've even received stuff we didn't and they disappear and never return fast enough to tell the servers the mistake. We recommend this restaurant for its sushi quality and quantity but, be prepared for a lengthy stay and bad service! read more

We're were missing AYCE sushi during our trip to Sandbanks. We were already in Picton looking for a restaurant. Selections being thin, we took a chance for the additional 30 min drive to Belleville. This establishment did not disappoint. The sauces were a little different then we were accustomed to. A little less sweet, a little more sour, unique to the local chef I guess. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Had the Miso soup, avocado salad, shrimp/veg tempura, Yaki udon, grilled veg., Black Dragon roll, yam roll, Volcano roll, Cow Boy roll, salmon sashimi, and assorted sushi. The fried banana and egg pudding were good too. Service was a bit slow for a fairly empty restaurant. read more

At times you can't find a server to help you, they don't speak English so communication can be very difficult and yes at times I have not received all that was ordered or have received something that I didn't order. If you are a fan of sushi and of all-you-can-eat buffets, this is your place. There's a large selection of sushi and other foods, all of which are good. Table service is fairly quick and always friendly. The lunch buffet is a pretty good deal (though the menu may be smaller,) while the dinner is a bit more expensive. Still a good value. read more

Their staff are rude of you are not Asian. I'm dead serious. It's blatant racism. If you are Caucasian the teenage servers are rude, unsmiling, don't fulfill your entire order, don't refill your water. But I watched the Japanese Albert college students across from us get the courteous and friendly service one would expect at any restaurant. And this wasn't just a one off. I ate there at least 6 times for both lunch and dinner and it was always the same. On the last time the service was so poor and rude I did not leave a tip and the server actually challenged me at the register when I was paying with debit "what you leave no tip" and then proceeded to speak what I presume were obscenities about me to her other servers who all glared at me. It was brutal. I replied "no tip for bad service", walked out and have never returned. Go to dragon rolls where they actually value their customers and have way better food. read more

We didn't receive food we had ordered. When the server was questioned she said that "we think you order too much". Are you kidding? Where do they get off deciding what I can order. I clearly says on the menu that you will be charged for food ordered and not eaten. And this has happened more than once. I'm also not sure if they understand English because writing "No Sauce" beside a dish means it comes covered in red sauce that totally destroys the flavour of the dish. Avoid this place. I had a complaint because the price of my bill was WAY off, called the manager to voice my issue and he was unbelievably rude and ignorant and did nothing to rectify my problem, had nothing to offer me. I have never in my life experienced sushi so terribly, for so fore thought I'm been eating sushi for over 15 years and never had an experience so horrid. I came with some friends [My best friend, his girlfriend and our mutual friend] we order some sashimi, some of the deep friend food which my friend immediately complained was overcooked and old, my other friend mentioned the soy sauce was weird tasting, much sweeter than it should have been. I asked for new soy sauce and same result, at this point I wasn't pleased and was hoping our incoming rolls would justify this mediocre meal. This was not the case, only downhill from here. As the rolls arrived they were cold and lifeless, to add to this travesty, a worker was moping right beside our booth, the smell and tasteless crap that was before me was something I STILL tried to move past, as I went for a Red Dragon Roll piece and saw a fruit fly land on it! This was it! I got up asked to speak to a manger and and the woman told me, no manager speak to her, I complained about the fruit fly on my dinner and the mop water possibly containing bleach or some other odor causing ingredient. She asked me three times if I would like dessert and I said no this is ridiculous. My company and I are thoroughly unimpressed and this isn't okay or even passable as a dining experience. We went to leave and she has the gull to charge us full cost! I was shocked and not a chance that is unfair. She asked you no pay, I call cops! You eat here for free fill your bellies and expect us to feed you!? She asked again I call cops? I said go for it, cause this eating experience is criminal at these prices. I then said I don't care you can't treat people this way and asked again for discount. Prior to the discount she wanted $101.86 for four people, after the 10% discount which was a joke it was $91.65! How crazy is this! The cops actually showed up and I spoke my mind to them and the woman laughed at us and said they no pay! I told her fine, take the damn money and paid her on my visa with no tip. She continued to laugh at us after the cops left and mumbled "niggers!' I, in my coolest possible composure called her a chink bitch, and left as my company made a few comments, too! I don't agree with what I said but, there has to be a line that doesn't get crossed. I'm not black but, my both my friends are and I take great offense when we are as a group labelled because we are in are early-mid twenties and fit some idealistic stereotype! This woman has a pre-conceived notion that we were going to ditch our bill or try to lie about our terrible service to avoid paying or something, I'm personally insulted and I will make it known that Aji Sai in Beleville has terrible service and as a whole based on their employees appears racially motivated in their approach to customers.
