Social Security - What exactly does this mean?!

It's really not that bad. I had to wait an hour when arriving around noon time, this is what I…read moreexpected. You would have a shorter wait if you come when they first open. They could be more efficient as some clerks disappear for ten minutes between each person they serve. And if someone doesn't step up when their number is called, they really don't need to give them 10 minutes to show up. You snooze, you lose. The numbers announced on the speakers could be clearer and I'm sorry but when they make announcements in languages other than English it's just confusing at first. Speak American, the language Jesus spoke! The clerks are not that bad if you stick to the rules - sit down and wait for your turn. One guy went up to a window and said; can I ask a question? The clerk lady said; No you can't. Then made an announcement on the speakers saying, stop coming up asking questions. Bit rude, but if it cuts my wait time shorter then I'm all for a bit of rude soup. There isn't a lot of parking, so you May have to use the overflow parking lot a walk away.

Has anybody ever had to get a replacement social security card for something? Is it not something…read morethat you look forward too. I went to this location, and got there about 10 minutes after they opened. I should have gone 30 minutes before they opened. The place was packed when I got there with about 50 people waiting. It took me an hour just for them to call my number. It turned out that, even if you call, and they say you have the correct paperwork, that you might not, as was the case when I went. When I got to the window, they said that when you call, the person that answers the phone sometimes gives out wrong information, and it used to happen all the time. I just went to save time on mailing paperwork back and forth, which might add up to weeks. So, I guess I will get the correct paperwork, and then next time get there really early.

Weirdly enough, the State Surplus Property Agency was recommended to me by a local Cary business…read moreowner. During a day trip in Cary, playing "tourist" we were looking for things to do, and the surplus agency sounded like an adventure. And let me tell you, an adventure it is! You never know what you're going to find at the surplus, but it's all items that have been donated by the state through confiscation [at the airport, drug busts, etc] or from state offices [colleges, government buildings, etc]. When getting to the Surplus, if you're headed down Chapel Hill Road AWAY from Cary, take the second gravel entrance [past the building] and park in front of the chainlink fence. Walk through the chainlink fence and walk up the stairs located to your right. Among other things, you'll possibly be greeted by some trackers or cars initially, and then you walk inside and hit "the good stuff." Everything from old school notebooks, medical equipment, pocket knives, laptops, bullet casings, and bottle openers. You've also got a mix of office chairs, desks and tables mixed in with your random collection of laboratory refrigerators, arcade games a possible piano and lawn chairs. It really can be a hit or a miss at the surplus, and if you're looking for something specific, this might not be the best place to look. However, that being said, if you are looking for a general piece, this place could be perfect for you! I'd say the surplus is most full of desks and chairs, so if you're into recovering/refinishing things this is a great spot to purchase something cheap! Other items go through a bidding system, which is a little more complicated and time consuming, so look for the items that you can take home that day.

I love this library! Ever since they reopened last year it has become my library of choice. It…read moreisn't the largest library in Raleigh by any means, but it still has everything you need! I really love the drive-thru book drop off. I usually swing by before I bring my son to school and it's very convenient that we all don't have to get out of the car to return the books. I also love the self checkout stations inside the library. They are pretty magical, especially if you are checking out a ton of books. The children's section is great! It's set up in a way that is very clear and easy to follow depending on what age group you are looking for. I loved the candy land inspired interactive game they had setup in December. My son had so much fun checking it out. I especially loved that it was open if the library was open, you didn't have to go in at a specific time. I also love their Lucky Day section at the front of the library. You might get lucky and score a book that would otherwise have a super long waitlist. Such a neat concept! In general Wake County's online library system is awesome. It's so easy to reserve books and e-books as well. At North to pick up your books just head straight in towards the back by the main checkout desk. You can easily find what you need in alphabetical order there. I used the word love a lot of times in this review, but I really do truly love our Wake County library system. It's the best!!
