Text messages kept us informed about our place in line. The staff was smiling, kind, and courteous. My mother was offered a chair since the computer was running slow. We were near the end of the process when it turned out the computer system was down statewide. I asked if I could take my mother home since staff did not know when it would be fixed, and the woman handling her paperwork arranged for me to return before 4:30 to pick up the ID without needing an appointment or my mother. To my surprise, I received a phone call letting me know the paperwork was ready. I stopped by to pick it up and was handed the ID on the spot. Considering the "complications" with the computer system, this was still a pleasant experience. The team there is wonderful!

She indicated verbally I would not need an appointment or need to wait in line that she would look for me and instructed me to explain upon arrival that only payment was necessary. Upon arrival and explanation was issued a number and told to wait in my car again and when I had the nerve of being angry about being lied to was told not to come back. Abolish these state run rackets and replace these imbeciles with private drivers license businesses who compete for business. Overnight the lines and waiting will disappear and these incompetent personnel, paid from my tax dollars, will be forced into seeking private sector jobs instead of being paid for failing the tax paying citizens responsible for their salaries and pensions. Absolutely unacceptable!

I stood there and an employee came to check on me. An Examiner walked me over to the chairs. She took the time to be so comforting and kind to me. This awesome kind Examiner brought a fresh bottle of water for me and some paper towels to dry my face off. The Examiner helped me get to the right desk and made sure I was ok. This is the most atrocious and disgusting situation I have ever witnessed involving the Wake County…read moreSheriff's Office. The conduct displayed here is not only unprofessional but a complete violation of civil rights and basic human decency. An officer arrived at a home in a quiet neighborhood and, when nobody answered, simply let himself in. There was no emergency, no warrant, and no permission. Minutes later, he shot and killed the family's beloved Belgian Malinois, Zelda. The homeowners were not there--the husband was at work, the wife was out of town, and the four children were at school. Zelda was simply doing her job: protecting her home from an intruder. Instead of immediately contacting the family to inform them of this tragedy, the officer called for backup. An "army" of police arrived and proceeded to circle the wagons. For 40 minutes, they searched the family's home, garage, and backyard--again, without a warrant, without permission, and without notifying the homeowners. To date, there seems to be no accountability. No apology, no compensation for the trauma inflicted, and no prosecution for the officer who unlawfully entered a private residence and killed a family member. This department needs to be held accountable for this gross overreach and the heartbreaking loss of Zelda. Citizens should feel safe in their homes, not terrified of the people hired to protect them.

So many resources in a nice, clean, well organized/maintained setting. Beyond the resources available, the staff was 5 star helpful and pleasant, awesome! The Deets: I will have to say, I came to this little community library with the preconception of it not being all that much. I was wrong. It's got a lot packed into its current 8800 or so square feet than you'd expect, with around 50,000 adult and children's books. It opened for public use April of 2020 (what a wild time to open, eh?). The current library is undergoing an adjacent construction project that apparently will make adjustments to its parking capabilities. In addition to the books/audiobooks/ebooks/digital media, they have scheduled library programs, high speed WiFi as well as public computer access, seating areas with dedicated workspace type areas, and more. Self-checkout of books is available. It is affiliated with the Wake County Public Libraries system so if you have a library card here, it will work with the other Wake County libraries as well. I refrained from taking pics inside as I did not want to ruin others' library vibe, but this place is nice, clean, well organized, and well maintained. There was security stationed at the door on my visit as well. But beyond all these things, the one thing that put this library in 5 star territory was the service that the staff provided. The person working with me went out of her way to make sure I knew what was available, how to use the library resources, made sure all my questions and then some were answered...and did so with such a pleasant as well as extremely helpful manner. Positive energy here, and welcoming as well. I am glad this little community library is in my neighborhood, all 5 stars from me!
