My favorite library & I desperately missed it while it was closed for renovations. They must have…read morebeen mainly upgrading the infrastructure because I don't see any real physical evidence of remodeling. There is plenty of parking & a quiet room for ADD & special needs folks with spinners etc. I love almost all the librarians with one notable exception who shall remain nameless but I'm told she gets lots of complaints. The internet isn't as strong as I think it should be for the amount of people who use it! I do appreciate that the librarians have tables set up with their favorite books. I do wish they would go back to the old days where quiet was observed but the Apex library is better about that I've found. I wish wake county libraries would have DVD's the way Durham libraries do.

Pretty good selection of books. I especially like the table with the staff's recommendations…read more Nice place to study if you don't mind having a good number of other people studying all around you. Has a great quiet room where several people can study without too much distraction. The desks throughout the open area in the library are generally taken if you come here after school. Lots of local students study here. My kids have met tutors here to study and done their own independent study here. The staff is friendly and helpful. Bathrooms are decent enough. Dated but generally clean. Library was closed for a few months so this may have changed. I didn't visit the restroom on my most recent visit.

From my perspective, Cary continues to be a safe, clean, up-and-coming town with a lot of smart people. It seems like a great place to raise a family. I've heard Cary referred to as "Cannot Afford Raleigh Yet" and "Containment Area for Relocated Yankees." Haha. Seriously though, with all the new construction in recent and forthcoming years, I can see the appeal in living here as opposed to Raleigh. Just look at places like Fenton as one example. In this Yelp review, I list my top 10 restaurants in Cary from our time in the Triangle, June 2020 through July 2024: 1. Herons - One of my top two restaurants in the Triangle including Fearrington House. True fine dining for special occasions. https://www.yelp.com/biz/herons-cary-2 2. Szechuan Mansion Hotpot - Best Chinese hot pot in the Triangle. https://www.yelp.com/biz/szechuan-mansion-hotpot-cary 3. Seol Grille - Best Korean barbecue in the Triangle, that we tried. https://www.yelp.com/biz/seol-grille-cary-3 4. Chengdu 7 Sichuan Cuisine - Outstanding Sichuan food. https://www.yelp.com/biz/chengdu-7-sichuan-cuisine-cary 5. Andia's Ice Cream - Best ice cream in the Triangle. https://www.yelp.com/biz/andias-ice-cream-cary-2 6. Taipei 101 - Excellent "authentic" Taiwanese and Chinese food. https://www.yelp.com/biz/taipei-101-cary 7. Guasaca - Terrific arepas. https://www.yelp.com/biz/guasaca-cary-3 8. So Hot - Another solid Chinese hot pot restaurant. https://www.yelp.com/biz/so-hot-cary 9. Milk Lab - Yummy rolled ice cream. https://www.yelp.com/biz/milk-lab-cary-cary 10. Brecotea - Good Asian bakery and bubble tea shop. https://www.yelp.com/biz/brecotea-cary-4 Honorable mention: * Geluna Gelato - Delicious small-batch gelato in downtown Cary. https://www.yelp.com/biz/geluna-gelato-cary * Kung Fu Tea - Probably the best bubble tea in Cary. https://www.yelp.com/biz/kung-fu-tea-cary-cary * Peck & Plume - Good American restaurant located inside The Mayton boutique hotel (formerly known as The Mayton Inn). Ideal for brunch. https://www.yelp.com/biz/peck-and-plume-cary-2 ** Downtown Cary Park - Not a restaurant, so I'm making an exception here, but you've got to check out this new $68 million municipal park. https://www.yelp.com/biz/downtown-cary-park-cary

Highly recommend going in at 1pm where there is a tour. If you go alone without a guide all you see is the buildings and just grass... I looked forward to the tour of the plantation but what I received was a very woke diatribe about "enslaved" people and "enslavers". History, like it or not is giving the facts and not trying to use words to be politically correct. The blacks here were "slaves", NOT enslaved people. The owners were "masters" and NOT enslavers. Let's keep the politics and liberal narrative out and just give the facts. Also, they only accept cards and no cash. Cash is legal tender everywhere....but not here. I was terribly disappointed with the whole experience and left early. I was looking for historical information but what was given was a liberal sappy "victim" story. We can't change history whether we agree with it or not. No one is saying slavery was good but it is still a part of our history and should be told accurately.... Skip this place and find a better plantation where they are interested in giving factual information. There was little about the running of the planation, life in antebellum NC etc...
