Had a great time here with a friend that had a guest pass for me. Clean. Staff was very warm and friendly.

My my family and I have been attending the pool the whole summer with no problems or issues except today... The whole summer My grandson that have autism have been able to use a side of the pool with me without any issues , Today two lifeguards approach him in a rude way telling him to move to another area of the pool. . I immediately intervene and asked them what was the problem. They Explained to me that the area was restricted for the usa of the slide only.. I told him that we've been using the area for the whole summer without any problem, but immediately remove my kid and went to the other side of the pool. I did tell them that they needed to approach a child in a different way since it was not his fault the whole summer we were allow to use that particular area . One of them just laugh at me and I then decided to speak to the pool supervisor. I went to the office with with other lifeguards were present and I explain to the supervisor of what just happened. I told the supervisor that we will follow the rules, but I did let him know that the whole summer area was open to all the kids and even adults . Also I explain it to him that my grandson have Autism and the two lifeguards were very intimidated the way they were talking to him till I got involved. The supervisor I assure me that he was gonna talk to them . I then proceeded to go to the other side of the pool with my two grandkids.. as I passed by one lifeguard on duty, I heard him making fun of my conversations with the supervisor telling out loud where other kids and family can hear him saying " The kids have autism And his Grndma is complaining "and all that while laughing. My grandson were humiliating in front of other kids his age .He heard him . I then went back to the Supervisor and informed me what just happened.. at that point I was limit. I was angry and hurt for my grandson. I then advise the supervisor. that I was going to report this incident.. I felt like he was not taking the incident seriously. He was more worried about me reporting the incident then my grandson who was humiliated and embarrassed by this incident.. my grandson is a high functioning child that happened to be on the spectrum. I then procedure to leave and call my Uber and while waiting for my Uber , not one but 3 police officer show up and were notify by a adult employee that refuse to identify herself to me that they wanted me to leave The Knew that I was waiting on a Uber . They did that to intimidate me because I assure them early that I was going to report this incident to the Mayor's office. If this is how North Burgen intimidate their residence when a resident have a complain then this is a big problem . I will not allow anyone to intimidate me when defending my grandson's , rights. Three police officers !!! I will not allow anyone to silence me or intimidate me at all . This incident will be know Trust me . I will be moving forward to take this complaint to the right authority. read more

NBP is nice. Pools are super fun, especially the waterslide. The water is a strange salty pool water. They don't acknowledge what a "family of four" should be. You can see why in their website for becoming a member. A bit over priced in my opinion, but I need a local place to chill out for the summer with my son. Luckily I can afford it. I did not have any issues with staff and parking is abundant. I really wish they could up-the-ante at the snack bar. The food is sub par. NBP back in the 80's was the best. read more

So, the pool is relatively clean and is nice to spend your day swimming there, however the staff is RUDE and lacks of customer service skills. The day we brought over some guest they made us pay for 2 babies (1 and 2 years old), we found it odd but understandable since they were going to use the kid's pool. We got there around 12:30 and once inside we found out that a kid had "an accident" earlier and the kid's pool was closed. We tried to get into the other pool with the little ones but they didn't allow it (pool is for 3 years and up). 2 persons on my group complained to the lifeguards and they say there was nothing they could do about it. Finally I spoke with the manager Joanne and she told me that they couldn't let the kids into the other pool and since it was an "act of nature" they wouldn't give me a credit for the 2 kids, specially because I waited 2 hours to pleace my complain (at was 3pm when I spoke to her. Now I found this totally unbelievable, nobody told us about the kids pool being out of service when we got there and there was no sign about it (they put one at 1pm) however they made us pay for the little ones, they didn't give us options for them to bath and finally when we complained the personnel was not helpfull at all and the manager was rude. I believe that for the amount of money we pay for the membership we should at least be treated in a better way if we have something to complain about. read more

Save your money and aggravation. Staff is rude and hypocrites if you're not their friends and family. Pool opens end of June, so they can employ high school students and pay low wages. So shameful with the money they are charging to join this is place. The pool isn't even that great it's not that new anymore, and the pool looks dirty with nasty greasy film throughout. And to top it off with all they're barking and nagging all day if you are not "VIPs" it's just a horrible day spent there. read more

The pool itself is relatively new and spacious. However the pricing of it is severely overpriced for what you are actually getting. They are overpriced when compared to all surrounding townships pools. Another huge annoyance is even if you were a member and decided you wanted to bring a guest they only offer tickets in increments of 3, 5, and 10. If I ever want to go for a swim I would rather drive to any of the surrounding townships and enjoy their facilities instead of forking over the mafia like pricing that the North Bergen Township is asking for. I have been a member of the north Bergen pool for many years and never could relate to other negative comments made towards the pool or their staff. However, when I signed up in May2018 I clarified the age for brining in guest. I was told members of age 13 years or older can bring one guest. Last year my daughter was 14 and was able to bring friends the same age as her without question. My daughter is 15yrs old and has been to the pool several times this year brining in one guest of the age 16. Never was an issue. Today is was not aloud. I spoke with the manager who provided me with a print out of the rules. I explained, I was told differently when I joined. Had I received the written policy when I joined. This wouldn't be an issue. Policy handbooks should be given when members join, in case an employee informs a member incorrectly. As in my situation, where clearly the staff member was inaccurate. I can relate to a recent review regarding membership taking guest. Obviously the same employee I spoke with must have registered that person as well. I was told by management today, they recently removed 4 kids from the pool for acting inappropriate. If this is the reason for reinforcing a policy, a notification should be sent to members regarding the issue. Memberships are costly and today was very disappointing. I'm glad I didn't purchased the 10 pack guest pass as I do every year, since I will not be able to use them. read more

I'm really glad the pool is here. Although some bits of it seem to fall apart sometimes, overall, it's pretty well planned and thoughtful in design. It's an asset to the community. As far as the price goes, this was an issue during the last mayoral race. As the price it is, the pool is pretty crowded, but tolerably crowded. You can always find a place to sit and there is enough room to swim. But it's just a matter of economics and a working business model. If you underprice it, you'll get twice the usage, twice the crowding, and fewer funds for maintenance, which will have to be made up for by the taxpayers who never visit the pool at all. I think it's a fair price. It is just a matter of maintenance vs. demand vs. usage vs. fairness to the taxpayers. I don't think an 80 year old pensioner living week to week should be taxed so 8 year old Billy whose parents can't afford it can swim. But if you want to lower the prices so the whole community can swim, I'm afraid that it will have to be tax financed by those who don't. Ultimately, that would not be fair at all. read more
