    Beach day
    Janis P.

Was in the area looking to get some lunch and some sun. While there is an entry fee if you are part of the club, you can eat at their service cafe (no alcohol!) without admission fee. We opted to do that, and I must say it was some of the best lobster role and fresh lemonade I've had in years!!!! I am now disappointed that i just learned of this and they are closing for the season. After lunch, we were having such a good time so we decided to pay the fee and stay on the beach the rest of the day ($10 sea cliff residents, $15 others) and grab our beach gear from the car (free street parking for nonresidents). For those that are unfamiliar with the northshore, the beach can be quite rocky. We had to take a lot of cringy steps to get more towards the sand and to enjoy the water. Overall, a fantastic day!!

By far one of the better beaches, especially sunset views. The beach is closed for the season.

Life is full of surprises... Sometimes it's worth taking a second (or twentieth!!) look at a place you THINK you know, just to discover there's PLENTY you've yet to see. So is the case of my recent visit back home to Long Island, and whether you're a first time visitor or a local who's lived there your whole life, both the beach and this wonderfully scenic little village are a wonderful, unexpected surprise!! Take a driving tour of the beautiful narrow, winding streets, tree-lined and graced with wonderfully unique old (and perfectly matched newer) homes. Make a quick stop at tiny Veteran's Memorial Park at the end of Main Street for your first look at some amazing harbor views. Park your car near the park and walk down to the beach for a chance to see more of that wonderful view (spoiled only by some sadly out of place new apartments!!!) and enjoy a nice walk along the beach walkway. Awesome views, peaceful and uncrowded (I'm guessing that might NOT be the case off season...) and definitely not what you'd (I'd) expect. On this warm early fall weekend, we saw joggers, strollers, several kayaks, and even a few brave, late season lap swimmers. Peaceful, but thriving... There are other, larger parks and town beaches farther down the shore, but this tiny piece of shoreline, with it's historic, picture-perfect promenade is just the perfect slice of heaven for this "exiled" Ohioan with Long Island sand permanently in her shoes... Check it out, along with the beautiful village with which it shares its name!!!

Now that Labor Day has passed, admission is free. Came here on a weekday with a friend for a nice walk, and to watch the sunset. It was around 6pm, and the beach area/boardwalk wasn't too busy. If you park your car in the lot, there's a nice couple mile walk to get to the beach and boardwalk area. The boardwalk itself has plenty of seating and areas to lounge, which is perfect for daytime picnic, or evening sunset watching. There is a playground area for children as well. We walked past the beautiful houses overlooking the water. The area itself is gorgeous and the walk is enjoyable (but mainly uphill). There is a staircase leading down to the beach area, but they also have a ramp to make it more accessible for those who can't use the stairs. All in all it's a beautiful area to workout, hang with friends, or even read a book by the shoreline. FYI when we went the public restrooms were closed. Masks are required in unable to socially distance.

We are not residents and have not been to the beach but we love to park and walk the short boardwalk when we are in town. A lovely view!
