The team is highly efficient and would recommend anyone who are looking to get their projects done. We were looking for someone to remodel our kitchen, half bathroom and build a custom TV wall. We went through a few contractors before coming across Jose from East Bay Home Improvements. In our first meeting, Jose was courteous and went through all the project details. I never felt being pushed into something as he listened patiently to all our requirements. After a few days he came back with the 3D designs for the space, which was very helpful to visualize. We worked with Jose to make some changes in layout and he was prompt in make those amendments. Once we finalized the design, we were quoted for the work. One thing I really liked that Jose provided quote with a detailed breakdown of material and work. Work started a week after we signed the quote. With the material: I shopped around for kitchen cabinets but couldn't find what we were looking for. So I got help from Jose and went with him at some of his recommended stores and finally landed up with what I liked. Jose also went above and beyond to find the exact tv panels as none of the online stores in US were having it. Now, with the actual work: Their team is very nice, courteous and always on time. They usually came around 8:15 am in the morning and stayed back till 4:30. We noticed they never wasted any time and were very focused on their job. They have an eye for details and never left any rough edges around their work. There were some finer details that were missed at times, but when I brought them up they ensured it was addressed promptly. When it comes to timeline of the project, they did it fairly in time. As always with any big projects, there are some unexpected delays, but Jose kept us very honest as things came along. Overall, the quality, workmanship and customer care provided by Jose was top notch! I would recommend anyone planning to get their kitchen/bathroom or any home remodel from East Bay Home Improvements.

We took the lead on the finishes but GMBC supported us with lots of discussion, advice, ingenuity and great craftsmanship. They answered our questions and addressed our concerns all along the way. We are really pleased with the high quality result. GMBC has several crews and I can only say that Jose and his team were consummate professionals who were friendly, polite, and took all COVID protocols seriously. They were respectful to each other and to us. They even put up with our puppy who busted through the plastic zippered door every single day to greet them. The work was on hold for a full year due to the pandemic. GMBC did not increase our contract (although we directly paid the increased cost of lumber and finish materials) and they did not pressure us to start before we were really comfortable doing so with the pandemic. If you're reading this, you've probably already asked all your friends about their contractors. And…read morethey probably offered a tepid approval at best, a nightmare at worst. The bigger their project, the worse their experience. Amirite? I'm here to tell you, we are the unicorn that actually loved our contractor. We did a major remodel, addition and ADU project with Hubert / Plus One Construction. Which turned out more complicated than a clean tear-down and re-build. I shudder to imagine how it would have gone without Plus One. Hubert was a true partner. Someone we could trust had our best interests through all the surprises that inevitably pops up on a large project. We decided to go into this project without a designer. As it turned out, we were a bit in over our heads. But Hubert takes the time to outline all the options, pros and cons. Way more specific, practical and actionable compared to the dozens of reddit comments you might rabbit hole into when you're posing as a designer. Plus One is not the cheapest per se. We would know because we vetted and received proposals from over 10 contractors. And while I'm usually unreasonably cheap, we just got the right vibes from Hubert. And the vibes were correct. He doesn't ridiculously mark up the work that goes beyond scope. I am a sticker for not getting ripped off, it's almost a psychological hangup. And I never felt Hubert was pulling a fast one. In fact, he goes out his way to go the extra mile, even on things that should have been our responsibility. Even after the "end" of our scope of work, he had his guys come back several times to make sure everything was right. This alone might make him the best value in the long run, even if his starting proposal is not the cheapest. Hubert is pro-active i resolcing issues that might arise with an over-zealous city planning department. According to our neighbors, we live in such a city; but I wouldn't know, mostly thanks to Hubert. He knew our city's codes and how to work with them. In fact, he was offered a job by our city's planning department, they liked him so much. I suspect we got a friendly ref's whistle, so to speak, because our city planners just straight up liked Hubert. I write this after just completing a year+ long project with Hubert and his guys. And I'm not going to lie, we're a bit sad that they will not be in our lives anymore. Ask yourself, have you ever heard anyone say that about their contractor? We were lucky... but you can be too! Hire them and thank me later! (By the way, he did not ask me to write this. I felt compelled. The least I can do to return to return the favor. He did not build it; he made it happen.)

After over a decade of home ownership, we decided to try for our first remodel. Not knowing anything about how it works at all, we really appreciated Lemon Remodeling's communication style- they were patient and thorough in explaining the process and answering questions. We were also able to communicate via text for most of the process, which provided great flexibility for us with work and kid schedules. It was truly amazing seeing how our fuzzy intial vision came to layout, render, and reality. Jacob was awesome in providing suggestions and guidance when I needed it (e.g., when to use matte vs gloss vs semi gloss, what's the difference in wall textures, and how do dishwashers work ) I also never felt pressured at all, which really made the whole experience pretty low stress. We did a full kitchen remodel, moved the sink location, upgraded electrical, etc. The crew did an amazing job, and got so much work done in a short amount of time. Construction was well planned and I was able to do my work from home job in the room next door with no trouble while construction was underway. It's been a few weeks since we finished and it's my absolute favorite room in the house now. The pull out cabinet shelves are such a game changer. I don't know how I've gone my whole life without a dishwasher before. And even though the size footprint of the kitchen didn't change, the layout and cabinets have given us so much more storage and counter space. Not to mention the peace of mind that comes with knowing all the electrical, plumbing and gas is up to code! Overall, I'm thankful to have worked with Lemon.
