Pork schnitzel
Eric H.

I was unaware of this restaurant but friends took us promising great things. I wish there was a half star I could throw in because the appetizer and salad were above average. The fried cheese curds with dipping sauces were so good. I loved the extra dill in the ranch! The salad had great ingredients-bonus points for onions-and the dressing was not overly sweet. Full points there. Unfortunately the main course was less than expected. It was not bad, so don't get me wrong. But it was underwhelming. No pan sauce on the schnitzel and the onion/mushroom topping tasted good but was kind of dry. Same for the schnitzel. The greens with it were a tad bitter. The mashed potatoes hit the spot but were a little sparse. All in all I was fine but not in love with my meal. I think they have great potential but are misting it on the meals. I have heard the burgers are good so I may go back for one to reassess.

Pulled Pork Sandwich

Norms was amazing . I got the pulled pork sandwich and the BBQ sauce was my favorite part of the sandwich. I couldn't get enough of it and decided to smother my burger and garlic fries in it. The garlic fries BTW had chunks of garlic ... drool. Service was excellent, our service was super welcoming and tentative . The feel of Norms just felt very cozy. Excited to return for dinner :)

Service was a little slow, but it was busy in there for a thursday night. All the food was great and tasted amazing. I really want to come in and try the filet next with their beignets! Their menu online doesn't show their updated pricing for the in person items. Would recommend!

In a nondescript strip mall in Palo Cedro is where you will find Norms. Don't let that fool you though, this place has some amazing food! I would have given it 5 stars but it took us a little bit of time to even have someone acknowledge us to be seated. After that the staff were friendly and super attentive, constantly filing our drinks and making sure we were doing good. My husband got the black and blue burger and said it was the best burger he ever had! The bacon was crispy the avocado was perfect and the meat and the bun were amazing! Everything perfectly cooked! I had the chicken Florentine and the chicken was tender and seasoned well and the mashed potatoes were yummy and the sauce on top was delicious! We will be back!

I believe that Norm's recently closed and is now for sale. Norm's was known for their comfort food, I had an amazing pork chop dinner there.

¡INCREÍBLE!…read more een-kreh-EE-bleh Meaning... "incredible," "amazing," or "unbelievable." As a vegetarian (darn near vegan), I had the vegetarian breakfast burrito without the eggs or bacon. Extra, everything else, some cheese, sour cream and lettuce, and... Oh. My. God! What made it extra great was the toasted tortilla. Nothing worse than a soggy or leaky raw dough tasting burrito. First time there in 12 years and the chef (Manny's dad) nailed it! Thus, my "Incredible" in Spanish. Place was clean with nice selection of music, not too loud or cold. Like Goldilocks, everything was just right. My friend had the carne asada burrito and was equally impressed, finishing it in record time, despite their burritos being the perfect size. Big, without being jumbotron or all tortilla folded. Mr. Ortega is damn good at sizing up those tortillas, no waste, no extra folded up tortilla, no leak. Did I mention their salsa? Take your pick from their self serve area. Red, green, hot, mild and "sometimes hot" to choose from. Manny's a great waiter and no doubt son, husband and father, with his great personality and smile. God-ahh love family owned and run businesses. I'll be back!

The flavors are out of this world, and the spicy salsa is absolutely incredible. I can't wait to go back and try everything else on the menu. Out of all the places in Redding that serve Mexican food, this one stands head and shoulders above the rest. The food is consistently delicious, fresh, and full of authentic flavor. Tio Nate himself is a class act and a genuinely great guy, which makes supporting this local business even better. I'll definitely keep coming back. If you haven't tried it yet, you need to. On Wednesdays, they're usually on Bechelli near Hartnell, and you can check out their Instagram and Facebook pages to see where they'll be each day of the week. They're also on DoorDash, and while I was there, I saw tons of orders being picked up, a good sign that people know how good this place really is. Do yourself a favor and try Tio Nate's Taqueria. Although I had already brought lunch from home, I decided to give it a shot--and I'm so glad I did! I ordered two carne asada street tacos, which cost around $8-9. Menu was easy to read. The smell of the food cooking in the air was amazing. The tacos were packed with flavor and were absolutely delicious. The girl who took my order was incredibly friendly and helpful, offering suggestions like different sauce spice options and asking if I preferred it spicy on the side so I can adjust the level of spice. She made sure my order was perfect. They gave me a vibrating/beeping mechanism to alert me when my food was ready, and it only took about 5 minutes. The tacos were well worth the short wait. I would definitely visit again--highly recommend!

First off, the rice, white queso dip, cream sauce, salsa and bean dip they have, rival a favorite place of mine in LA called Salsa and Beer I ordered basic cheese enchiladas (one with red sauce, one with green sauce). They were FANTASTIC. If you think something as simple as a cheese enchilada can't be gourmet and elevated, I suggest trying anything from Rick Bayless (Chicago or LA) and El Cholo (LA) with their aged cheddar. All that to say, Casa Rios didn't disappoint. My friend got the chili relleno with cream sauce, one word, FANTASTIC. I like that it had a bit of char to it and that it wasn't super eggy. It had a nice crisp to it. For desert (it being my bday week and all lol) was their coconut tres leches cake with strawberries. Another smash out of the park. I will definitely be back. Eager to try their fajitas, birria tacos and flan. Great job. If I'm in town on Tuesday (8/11) I'll have my bday dinner here.

We shared the queso with chorizo which looks small but could be a meal in itself - definitely enough for two to share. We also shared the queso birria tacos. This was very good, but definitely needed more cheese to balance out the generous portion of meat. The flavors were excellent. Our server, didn't catch her name, has been there forever and was excellent. Definitely recommend calling and getting your name on the waiting list so you can get a table when you arrive, otherwise the wait can be lengthy although worth it!

Located in the Placer Heights Plaza, next to Starbucks. Same plaza as Holiday Market and CVS Pharmacy. We were seated immediately as they were not busy. The menu was a bit different than online. Our server came to take our order. He didn't introduce himself and seemed like he didn't want to be there. We decided on the fried green tomatoes, fried chicken sandwich and catfish po' boy. When the po' boy came out, we thought it was burnt! We didn't know the catfish will be blackened by default. We thought it will be fried since it is a po' boy. The options can be blackened or fried based on the menu online. We were not given those options by our server. They brought out the food but didnt provide utensils until minutes later. Fried green tomatoes: It was good. Fried perfectly. The dressing that was tossed with the side salad was super salty. Catfish po' boy: Fish was tender but super salty as well. Fried chicken sandwich: Pretty good sandwich. Chicken was huge. The fries was so soggy, not crispy at all. Also very greasy. We were a bit disappointed as we drove out of our way to try this place. Nice ambiance though. I felt I was a bit underdressed lol
