linguine with mussels

Very generous portions of pasta and seafood. Delicious and well prepared. linguine with mussels linguine frutti di mare House wine (chianti) is also a generous serving. Prices were incredibly reasonable at low $20's for pasta and under $8 for house wine. No reservations are taken but we waited less than 5 minutes for a table on a weeknight. Service was friendly, helpful but seemingly a little short staffed. Ambiance is lively, though decoration is a little stark and lighting is bright. This appears to be a new 2nd location of a Rancho Mirage Norma's. So far, so good. Will definitely return and recommend.

Great place. Went for an early dinner tonight. Very spacious. Clean. Wait staff is super nice. The food was really good, fresh, hot, huge portions. We'll definitely be back.

This place is fancy and elegant for affordable prices. Would highly recommend. Food was delicious and decent timing for being busy on a Saturday night. The service was friendly and this was a delicious meal in preparation for our half iron man. Side of garlic bread is enough for about 1-3 ppl. Pasta Alla Norma w/ spaghetti marinara: 4.5 Garlic bread: 4/5

Brand new! La Quinta Baking Co., in the Von's shopping center, was recently sold and the new owner's also own Norma's Italian Cucina near the mall. So, they just started opening La Quinta Baking as Norma's daily at 4pm. The food is very good, service is great, prices are reasonable. The only thing I didn't like was the music... seriously Led Zeppelin with my fettuccine? Well, minor thing, lol

Pasta with Pink Sauce (add chicken parm) 10/10 - There Pink Sauce cannot be recommended enough

I come here 1-2 times a week. It is the best italian food I have found in the desert. The service is great. The bartender is awesome and knows what I order at this point which is that little extra step that elevates the experience. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree as her son serves with the exact same friendliness and attention to detail. If you have not tried it yet please do!! -Anthony

Great salmon picatta. I usually get it to go every other week. It's a big Enough portion that I can eat it for two night!

Kiki's Sala: salanova lettuce is unusual but tasty -- like arugula without the bitterness. This is a large portion which you could share with four people as an appetizer. Sugar Snap Pea pizza: unexpected flavors with snap peas, mushrooms, & stracciatella. Table was divided on whether this worked. Cacio e Pepe: this version uses bucatini and is a little creamier than the classic. I ate it all regardless. Grilled Avocado: the name ignores that it includes fried artichokes as well. Satisfying and not too garlicky. Another large portion. The only disappointing item was the Polenta -- a little bland. If you get the Chicken Parm, you only need a half portion. Jack says the best two dishes are the Caesar and Linguini & Clams. They fly in Juniors cheesecake from NY! Full bar, attractive ambiance, and well trained staff. Go to Kiki's.

Once seated, the service only got better. Our waitress continued to be warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without ever feeling overbearing. What really impressed us was the owner making the rounds to personally greet each table--it added such a personal, heartfelt touch that you don't often see. As for the food, it absolutely delivered. The chicken parm was perfectly cooked with rich, comforting flavors, and the hanger steak was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. Between the exceptional service and the delicious dishes, this was one of those meals that leaves you already planning your next visit.

When we came in we were greeted by a very nice girl with Red Highlights in her hair. I would tell you her name but there were no name badges. We placed our order at the counter and proceeded to wait almost 45 minutes for our salad to come to our table. Our pizza came next about 10 minutes later and then one half of our order of wings came out about 4 minutes after the pizza. The other half came out about 2 minutes after that. If you're reading this and wondering if that order seems off, we thought the same thing. We ordered an X-Large Pizza half pepperoni and half cheese. We ordered an order of 12 Buffalo Wings mild and 12 Sheri-something wings.(Their signature wings.) We also ordered a large BBQ salad. The pizza seemed like the cheese side was a little thinner than the pepperoni side. This may be usual and I'm not sure because it was our first time here. To be fair I don't mind the crust a little thinner so this was okay. The flavor wasn't bad to be honest on anything we ate but nothing was super spectacular that would have warranted an hour wait. I also forgot to mention they were not busy. When we came in there were still several tables empty. Mind you it's not a big dining room. Going back to the service. They only gave us 2 plates to eat our food. We are a family of 4. When I asked for 2 more plates they never brought them back so I had to go ask for 2 more plates at the register. The plates they gave me were wet and the girl said sorry they just got washed. We also asked for Blue Cheese with the wings and got ranch. Not a big deal but the girl said she would bring the blue cheese out to us and we never got it. We just ended up eating ranch instead. We also used the restroom and the floors were slippery. Not sure how that happens but my son thought they were slippery because he had cleats on and I let him know daddy has regular shoes and I was still slipping. No idea why the floor was slippery. I just figured they didn't mop correctly? The girl with the red highlights was doing her best. She really was trying to do everything it seemed. There were several dirty tables of people who were eating before we got there and had left. I put some pictures on here just to show we weren't exaggerating. I'm not sure if this place was short staffed or this was a regular night but I can assure you me and my family would never go back. Not sure how this place had 4.3 stars but I would never refer this place based off of our experience.

The menu might be considered small however plenty of excellent choices for everyone's palate. We started with martinis Aviation gin for me & Ketel 1 for my hubs complete with bleu cheeses olives served tall & verrry cold. Our appetizer choice, the deep fried artichokes served with a creamy tasty aioli nicely presented however a bit over salted for our tastes, hence the 4.5 vs 5 stars. We came in to Italica wanting pasta the Bolognese with wild boar/fennel sausage arrived practically overflowing from the bowl, easily could have served 2 or possibly an appetizer to share at the table. My choice the Spaghetti Alio Olio presented bucatini pasta with bread crumbs & pecorino cheese ~ OOOOH MY, sooooo DELICIOUS my bowl was inhaled. Mid meal we ordered the prosciutto ~ fig jam flatbread just perfection the jam adding sweetness in every crunchy bite. To full from our appetizer & pasta we skipped dessert this trip but we'll be back!!!!!! as the drive to Indio from Palm Desert is maybe 30 min (+\~) easy & plentiful FREE PARKING be sure to look for the all stainless patchwork door for entry, once inside relax & enjoy the vibe.

It clearly caters to a sophisticated crowd--very similar in vibe to their Calabasas location. While parking is accessible in the rear, it can get congested during peak season. The menu is extensive with plenty of excellent selections, though the pricing is definitely premium. For instance, a Cobb salad topped with fish can easily exceed $45; while the quality is high, that's a significant jump over nearby staples like Daily Grill. Service was friendly but lacked consistency; our server disappeared mid-meal without a hand-off, requiring us to flag down other staff. Overall, it's a bright, airy, and stylish spot well worth a visit, provided you're prepared for the 'luxury' price point.

As our host walked us back to our table. I noticed how beautiful, classy, chic, superb, super clean it was, and so wear the restrooms. This Italian restaurant is huge, Everything inside was super elegant! As we sat down, we were greeted by our waiter Jack. Jack asked us if we had any questions, he answered them all beautifully! So we ordered Bocconcini di Mozzarella Caprese, Shrimp Dijon della Casa, 2 Linguine alle Bolognese, Fresh Minestrone Zuppa, Gnocchi al Pesto, fettuccini Alfredo with chicken, Fettuccine Alfredo with sausage, Risotto Tutto Mare, Risotto con Funghi with chicken, 2 order king crab legs. Their signature Bread is so delicious!! Everything was so mouth watering & highly delicious!! Everything explodes in your mouth, the savory tastes, I wished I could have eaten more, I was full! I also want to make a note, I normally do not eat crab at all. Once I tried & tasted the king Crab I was floored it's the best crab I have ever had! On top of that, Uriel was constantly making sure are glasses of waters, sodas, alcohol were always full without us asking us he was on it ! Castelli's is now my #1 Italian place to go to! Highest quality of their food, portion size was incredible, hospitality amazing! Their price points are so spot on! I highly recommend anyone who looking a a fabulous & delicious place to eat please come here! Jack & Uriel were so polite, kind, sweet, caring, super down to earth ! These are your rare diamonds please treasure them well! I would love to Thank Castelli's & their staff for our wonderful Mother's Day Dinner, with deliciousness & awesomeness on the side! I would especially love to Thank Jack, Uriel, Juan for making sure we had everything we needed ! You guys Rock! We definitely will be back again!! Can't wait!! The food was good, but the ambience was more casual than our concierge described. We went on a Friday in March, so mainly stuck to seafood. Mussels were great and the minestrone was OK- it was very heavy on vegetables and too light on other typical ingredients. The Alfredo pasta was good and our excellent waiter, Jack, recommended it highly!! The shrimp dish was disappointed given the quality, quantity, and price of the dish. Was a bit overcooked, scrimped on the shrimp in the scampi, for the price. Desert was very good. I found it lacking the authenticity, but priced as if a NY, NJ, or Boston Italian venue, but was great for Palm Desert!
