We came in a big group for work and our server was Chris-he absolutely handled us so well! The pace of service, the recommendations, and he has a great personality and attitude. The restaurant was clean, nice mood, and overall atmosphere was lovely. You can tell that the pasta was hand made in house. Some of the best grilled calamari I e ever had in my life! I ordered the Dover dole because I am a sucker for a table side service. That fish was some of the best fish I've had in my life. It was delicate and flavorful and the veggies were grilled and seasoned to perfection. I dang near ate the entire fish. We all left happy and full!

Il Corso is an eloquent Italian restaurant with excellent service and cuisine. We were warmly greeted by Cristiana F. after being seated in our choice of areas. Her warm, friendly demeanor and knowledge elevated our experience there. We started with sparkling water in which our stemware seemed to keep refilling themselves. Bread and pesto dipping sauce was immediately delivered to the table. The waitstaff was very hospitable & efficient, and the food & service is served with a genuine smile. Our entrées consisted of the special of Spaghettini Caprese with Eggplant Speciale which was marvelous. My taste buds informed me that the freshness of the ingredients was quite apparent. The pasta, spaghettini, is slightly thinner than regular spaghetti, yet not as light as angel hair pasta. It is delicate, but with perfect al dente texture. For the second entrée, we chose their Spagetti al Aragosta, which is a Venetian dish consisting of 6 oz. of lobster tail meat tossed with garlic, fresh ripe cherry tomatoes over spaghetti. It was a perfect amount of lobster, with a small piece with each fork full of pasta. The sauce was mild enough to taste the lobster without overpowering the protein with a heavy tomato sauce. They offer a list of exquisite wine offerings, as well has having a full bar for adult librations.

Excellent service and the food is as good as it gets! Their dishes are fresh, delicious and presented beautifully. It's a happening hot spot on El Paseo in Palm Desert. I always have the best experience dining at this fabulous restaurant.

Decided to come here because the other 2 Italian restaurants I called was closed for the Summer. I never heard of this, especially in the Palm Desert area. Parked in the back and was seated right away around 8:30pm on a Saturday night. The restaurant has an open kitchen and nicely decorated with very high ceilings. Keep in mind that they close at 9pm, even though on Yelp it says 10pm. Good thing I called them to make sure. Ordered the pink pineapple with speck & octopus carpaccio to start. The pink pineapple was super sweet while still retaining that pineapple taste. The speck was salty, but not as salty as other prosciutto's I've had. The pineapple definitely helps mellow the saltiness a little. The octopus was thinly sliced and I can definitely smell the fishiness of it when it was brought to the table. It was kind of bland with no seasoning whatsoever. I would pass on this dish. I ordered the NY steak and my wife ordered the lobster pasta. The NY steak came sliced medium rare. I noticed the amount of gristle on my steak and it was difficult to cut it off completely. The kitchen didn't do a great job at cutting through the steak so that I don't have to use my knife. I don't know if it's because the steak was cut with the grain, that it was a bit hard to chew on. The balsamic vinegar reduction was fantastic on this steak. Definitely made it a lot better. The arugula salad with shaved Parmesan didn't add to anything on this dish. I wished they would have added a vinaigrette to it or something. It was just plain arugula. The lobster pasta was a little blend and needed a lot of Parmesan to make it more flavorful. The pasta was definitely fresh, but I wish they would have cooked it a little more so that it's al dented and not just under cooked pasta. It was right on the border of being under cooked. For the amount they charge, it wasn't the best and I wasn't blown away like other reviewers. The staff, however, were fantastic. They kept on checking in on us and did everything we asked for. So kudos to the team. I just wished the food was on the same level.

Ia happy hour back? I'm craving your Osso Bucco happy hour special! Actually all of the happy hour specials! My wife and I stayed nearby about three years ago and went to your happy hour every day for three straight days! We will be back tomorrow!

They have never had a " happy hour". They have a bar menu and yes, the Osso Bucco is on it. As with nearly every restaurant, the price has gone up !

Honestly this was only our second time here, and I would credit that to the fact we had four kids we were raising during the time we frequented the desert most. Our first time here was many years ago and I had heard about it from someone I encountered at a nail appointment (of all places). Castelli's really does have an old school kind of feel -- and outside of "peak dining" hours is where you are likely to have your best experience. The staff is very attentive and there is definitely a hierarchy in how they work and it flows. Gabriel was our server tonight. He has been there since 1996. He has wonderful recommendations and when I was torn between (what was admittedly likely considered basic) two dishes he said "why not both" and ordered 2 half potions of the Pomedoro and the pesto gnocchi (both were good, the gnocchi better). He took good care of us and his support staff aided in the entire experience. I watched the hostess lead guests to their tables, offering an elbow when further assistance was as needed. They accommodated families when necessary and were super friendly and gracious. We have been coming to the desert for 15 years and the level of expectation from patrons (when in this area) is elevated from other places and Castelli's was top notch. The food was delicious, the wine was wonderful and the staff brought things to another level. I think Castelli's is under appreciated (and perhaps that bodes well for us). Ignore the subpar reviews, make the reservation and go! I did not take photos of my food, but believe me when I say it was delicious and we will be back. My only regret is that we have not been here more often.

The food was good, but the ambience was more casual than our concierge described. We went on a Friday in March, so mainly stuck to seafood. Mussels were great and the minestrone was OK- it was very heavy on vegetables and too light on other typical ingredients. The Alfredo pasta was good and our excellent waiter, Jack, recommended it highly!! The shrimp dish was disappointed given the quality, quantity, and price of the dish. Was a bit overcooked, scrimped on the shrimp in the scampi, for the price. Desert was very good. I found it lacking the authenticity, but priced as if a NY, NJ, or Boston Italian venue, but was great for Palm Desert!

Upon arrival, we were informed that happy hour is only available in the bar area, which we understood completely. However, the bar area exclusively features high-top tables, which my father is unable to use due to his disability. When I explained this and requested a low-top table as an accommodation, we were told that no alternative could be provided. I want to respectfully but firmly note that failing to provide accessible seating options for guests with disabilities is not only a gap in hospitality -- it may also raise concerns under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which requires places of public accommodation to make reasonable modifications for individuals with disabilities. I hope you will take this feedback seriously and make the necessary changes. We drove down the street to another establishment who gladly made the accommodations.

The menu is extensive with plenty of excellent selections, though the pricing is definitely premium. For instance, a Cobb salad topped with fish can easily exceed $45; while the quality is high, that's a significant jump over nearby staples like Daily Grill. Service was friendly but lacked consistency; our server disappeared mid-meal without a hand-off, requiring us to flag down other staff.
