My friend and I came here for lunch and we were extremely disappointed in the quality of the food. I ordered three rolls: Kanpachi (amberjack), Zuke Sake (salmon), and Hotate (scallop). The first roll was okay -- the fish wasn't terrible, but the rice was very heavy on the vinegar. The salmon roll was extremely disappointing. The menu refers to it as "marinated," but it tasted like very poor quality smoked salmon, overly fishy and smoky in an unpleasant way. I found the scallop roll to be totally inedible -- the scallops were completely slimy and had almost no flavor aside from the "aioli." The restaurant did not acknowledge that I left this last roll mostly untouched. My stomach still feels unsettled from what I did manage to eat. This was so utterly disappointing for a $40 meal when there are so many other options in midtown. read more
