This used to be my favorite place but every time I go there they are always so rude and don't know a single thing about customer service.

Mirakutei Sushi & Ramen - Dragon Roll and Lobster Roll

Mirakutei Sushi & Ramen

I stopped by here on a gloomy day with family and enjoyed some good food with very attentive…read moreservice. The interior is a cool mix between Japenese decor and a modern bar area. I ordered the Dragon Roll and Las Vegas roll. Both were quite tasty. We also ordered the Agedashi Tofu as a starter, a 6 piece of the Oysters, the Salmon Sashimi Flight, and House Tonkotsu Ramen. The oysters were pretty small, but packed with flavor. The Salmon Sashimi tasted very fresh and we loved the assortment of pieces.

Mirakutei occupies the same space that a previous sushi restaurant occupied. If you are familiar…read morewith it, it has the same super upscale, swanky vibe and décor that the previous place had. If you want scenery, Mirakutei is probably unbeatable. When we arrived, the place was completely empty, save for one table. We should have taken this as a warning and left (Clackamas Town Center is ALWAYS crazily busy, and for a fancy restaurant there to be almost empty speaks volumes). Since we chose this place specifically based on the many positive reviews, we figured we'd give it a go. It pains me to write this review, but one star is what Mirakutei earned. The menu is, well, let's just call it "unexpected". I don't know what they're going for, but "pesto" on sushi doesn't seem like a fusion that should exist. We ordered a variety of items, and across the board, they were all terrible. Prices are also REALLY high. The "salmon flight" consisted of four pieces of salmon nigiri, each of a different variety. I don't know what any of them were, but only one of the three had any semblance of flavor, and one was probably the toughest piece of fish I've ever been served. The yellowtail fared slightly better, but it was garnished with what appeared to be off-cuts or scrap that had been chopped to oblivion. This garnish did NOTHING to add to the flavor, texture, or appeal of the nigiri. We also made the mistake of ordering the "Hello Kitty". Don't do this. It is a typical California roll sullied by a pressed patty of, again, what appear to be fish off-cuts that are chopped to oblivion, pressed into a patty shape, overcooked, and draped on top of a cut CA roll with each piece turned on its side. Again, this was just gross. The most egregious foul was the "salmon" that was in one half of one of the rolls. It had spoiled, and literally was a slimy fall-apart mush. There is NO excuse in the world for this, and much shame is due to the chef (or management for forcing the chef to use spoiled items). We pointed this out to our waitress, who was very apologetic, and brought out a complimentary piece of mochi ice cream to us in an impossibly short amount of time. It happened so quickly that it seems to have to be their standard procedure that everybody's at the ready to do ("If a guest calls us out for serving spoiled fish, bring them a piece of mochi ice cream"). We were extremely disappointed, and left with a lot of what we'd ordered uneaten, and both of us feeling queasy. We won't be back.

Fun place for the kids and tasty well prepared sushi…read more Ramen was ok. I recommend focusing on the sushi. Fun claw machines for the kiddos to try their luck in. Service was fast, friendly and efficient.

This restaurant is a gem! If you like good sushi and great vibes, this is the place to go…read more I went there with my family, and it was a hit with everyone. And most importantly, the sushi was fresh and delicious. The presentation was on point, and we all agreed that it tasted even better than some high-end sushi restaurants we've been to (we eat sushi at least once a week and have tried many different places). The restaurant itself is so cool and interesting. If you have young kids or teenagers, they will love it, but honestly, I'm an adult and I loved it too. It is connected to a tea shop on one side, which we also tried. The Thai iced tea with boba was so good! And on the other side, it connects to a fun claw machine/gaming area with great lighting and an upbeat vibe. The restaurant made me feel like I was in Japan. There is an additional conveyor belt above the regular one, with a miniature boat that delivers water and orders directly to the booths. Another thing that we thought was very helpful was that the sushi on the belt had signs with the name and ingredients. I hadn't seen that anywhere else before. I am so excited about this place and love the concept. We will definitely be coming back many times. I only wish it was closer to my house!

This ramen actually takes the cake as my least favorite ramen I've ever had :( When they don't give you a spoon with your ramen, I'm assuming it means you're not supposed to want the broth. That should've been my first bad sign. The broth smells weird, I was joking with my husband saying it smells like subway. The pork was DRY. I mean if I would've ate it there I would've returned it dry, and I neverrrr return food. The ramen comes with spinach, which is new for me, and I will definitely not elect for it again. I ordered miso with pork chashu and asked for it to be spicy... the broth taste like nothing. Taking a sip of water between bites and I can't taste the difference between the two. No salt, no flavor, nothing. The ingredients other than the spinach I can't taste. The spinach overpowered everything. So basically eating boiled spinach in water. I didn't need the forgotten spoon after all. The only decent thing is that the noodles are cooked well. The lady at the stand was very nice. The food came out in a decent time. Unfortunately, I'm not going back for seconds and wouldn't recommend someone to try their ramen. Cheap isn't always good for a reason. Sorry :(
