a takeout container with rice and meat

This place is possibly the best in the mall. The chicken is cooked to perfection, and the sauce is amazing. I've tried so many places around here, and for the price this place charges, it's worth every penny. You'll be full for a long time.

I tried the vegetable nowl with ramen noodles and miso soup. I agreed to the soft boiled egg, but you don't have to accept it when offered. It didn't take too long for them to cook my ramen and the soup was very hot. The egg seemed a bit chilly when I first took a bit so I suspect it is cooked in advance and added later, but no issue as the hot soup warmed it. It was decent ramen not great but not terrible. I felt it was a reasonable price for a bowl of ramen as it was a good sized portion. I chose not to get a drink, but probably should've since the soup was hot. Personally I felt the miso was a bit fishy tasting, but perhaps that's just me. They were offering free samples as they also sell things like teriyaki chicken, fried rice, and more. There is plenty of seating in the food court, it's clean, amd well lit with sky lights.

I love this place I get it almost every time I come to Polaris. My favorite is the chicken teriyaki and my girlfriend loves the bubble tea.

Food is always amazing, but lately they have been skimping out on teriyaki chicken portions and giving less than normal.

Haru Omakase - Squid (I believe), golden thread fin, snow crab

Expensive? Yes. Incredible? Also yes…read more The sushi here was incredible. Given that it's technically in a strip mall, my expectations weren't very high but I was quickly transported and impressed. I've been to quite a few Omakase dinners that left more to be desired and this was not the case here. The dinner here was on par with some I've had in NYC. We opted to add on the premium course which I would recommend highly. The wagyu was absolutely incredible. The courses were timed well and I felt extremely satisfied. One thing to note is that they do not sell wine by the glass. You'll want to order a bottle or do the pairing. We did not do the pairing since my husband had to drive, but coming back I would definitely add that. For the premium omakase, a bottle of wine, and one additional piece of nigiri each, our dinner for two ran around $440 before tip.

The Omakase counter is a beautiful experience. Dining tables are also well decorated. Spacing is well done for it being a fairly small interior. Food: 1. First course: misu soup has a rich broth. The tofu is soft and slightly squishy. I'm not a big soup fan so this isn't anything special for me. 3 2. Second course: right to left. Right was fatty and melted in your mouth. The wasabi topping added a nice kick to the flavorful fatty tuna. 7. The middle fatty, soft, flavorful punch from the chipotle sauce. Spicy and flavorful. The bean sprouts add a great crunch and contrast to the richness. This one was incredible. 9. Third one fatty and tender. This one had a sweet component that was a pleasant change from the rich fish. 6.75 3. Third course: right one is fatty and strong. Flavor is punchy. 3. Second one is rich and strong. Starts sweet and ends with a salty strong pungent flavor. 5. Third one was smoky and sweet. Pungent and strong. 6 4. Fourth course: hand roll was packed full of flavor. Kimchi sauce added a beautiful spice. Avacado was creamy and rich with the bluefin tuna. Tenkasu added a great crunch. 8.5. Middle one is rich. Salmon flavor pairs beautifully with the sweetness of the Karashi. 8.75. Third one is rich and powerful. Sweet eel with a strong umami flavor. Crispy potatoes add a great texture change. My favorite. 9.5. 5. Fifth course: uni add on was incredible. Fatty and savory. The uni melts like butter and is slightly sweet. 9. First roll strong flavors. Rich and slightly sweet with a tang that lingers throughout. 7.75. Second meaty with a spice kick. Tender and very savory. 7.5. Third is sweet and more subtle. 7.75. Fourth is fatty savory but not super fishy. Little sweet but packed with umami flavor. 9. Fifth A-5 is extremely tender and fatty. Melt in your mouth. The chef sauce is sweet and tangy. Very sweet and kinda takes the flavor from the beef. Flavor wise 6.75 6. Sixth course: lemon chocolate tart is excellent. Strong lemony flavor. Smooth and runny yet still creamy. Chocolate tart is subtle but adds a light chocolate flavor. 7

The salad was a bit different, with very finely chopped bacon bits mixed in. It was interesting, though not necessarily my favorite. The soup was just okay and had a bit of an MSG-heavy taste. For the main, I asked for my steak medium rare, but it came out closer to well done, which was disappointing. That said, the portion size is pretty generous, so in terms of value, you do get a lot of food. I also ordered the egg yolk-based sauce on the side, which is quite rich and heavy, but actually pairs really well with the steak and shrimp. As for the experience, they do the classic flaming onion, but that's about all the entertainment you'll get. The restaurant itself also felt pretty bare, without much decor or atmosphere. Overall, decent value for the amount of food, but a few misses in execution.

We weren't the biggest fan of the flavor, but I'd definitely try another cocktail next time. I got the gyoza, a cheeseburger with fries, and a 4 piece spicy salmon sushi snack. The cheeseburger was great, as were the fries. The pork gyoza was yummy, I liked the dipping sauce. My sushi was just okay, it wasn't bad, just nothing special. It was still a good deal for happy hour. Our server was also great! He found a knife so I could cut my burger, which seems small, but was really appreciated. The restaurant is huge, so it's a great place for come with friends. I'd like to come back and try some hibachi next time.

Unfortunately he kept messing up what we each ordered. Things just spiraled even further down. It became comical how bad things were unraveling. Even the checks were screwed up. I can't say I recommend this place.

By far one of my favorite new restaurants, The Blue Sushi really exceeded my expectations,…read moreespecially since my expectations of sushi restaurants in Midwestern states are usually tempered. From the parking lot, The Blue Sushi does not look like much, but once you step inside, the décor is refined and elegant. We were seated immediately, and our server David was excellent with his recommendations and patience as we looked through the menu. We ended up ordering the Crispy Tuna roll, the Angry Lobster roll, the American Dream roll, and a steak Hibachi. The Hibachi comes with a side of salad and fried rice and was delicious. All the rolls were beautifully made and plated, and they tasted even better. We left full and satisfied and we will be back soon!

Now my life has changed, and I can take advantage of lunch at these places. Completely empty at noon on a weekday, a little disturbing. But, better than not being able to get in. Classy inside, nice seating options, quiet and pleasant atmosphere. Excellent service throughout. Large sushi menu, plus hot entrees, many apps, etc. A lot I wanted to try. But I had to start with the crab Rangoon tarts. Never seen it this way. Three fairly small tartlets, nice crust, with a dollop of "Rangoon" filling. Could have used more in each tart, but tasty enough. The sauce is a little zippier than most for crab Rangoon. Good, different, not amazing. And that pretty much describes the rest of the meal. Were my expectations too high? Nothing was bad, everything was pretty good, but not amazing. I had the Red Scorpion roll next. Mid-sized, a nice roll of kani, tuna, avocado, and more, topped with several sauces. Barely fit each piece in my mouth. Tasty, but again not amazing. Not what I expected from a place like this with reviews this high. A little heat, far from the spicy suggested by the name and reviews. Also had unagi and toro nigiri. Again, good, not great. Neither was as tender as I'd hoped, though decent all in all. Flavors were good on the unagi, and the toro was somewhat buttery/creamy but not on par with others I've had. Hmph. Cost was not bad, considering the decor of the place and that it's sushi. I left full but not overstuffed. I'd come back, maybe for a date night. But it's not incredible, and I guess I fell for the buzz.
