Of course our front security door lock jammed on a Monday morning with a packed schedule. We called NorCal Locksmith with the hope to at least get someone to come out for a repair sometime during the week. Surprise of surprises Ray returned our call almost immediately and was able to come to our home within the hour! Ray repair the security door lickety-split and even did some additional door tweaking to make sure everything was perfect. Ray is a true professional. We recently purchased a new home and elected to have the entire house re-keyed. I wasn't sure what to expect with this type of service, but Ray ensured that I was taken care of. I called a few other locksmiths in the area that seemed fairly priced and respectful, but once I spoke with Ray he elevated the locksmith game. He was informative, transparent and extremely happy to help. It may sound strange, but Ray is truly passionate about being a locksmith. He's damn good at it as well. I also had Ray correct a lock in the garage that wasn't turning into the lock position smoothly and required some door adjustment to get it to work. He made some corrections, but after about a week the problem returned. When I called Ray, he apologized profusely as if it was his error and offered to come back out immediately to correct the problem. This wasn't his workmanship, but rather an issue with our door and lock. However, Ray felt that he should have caught the problem the first time and wanted to make it right. I'd give this guy 10 stars if I could. He is incredibly talented. I had a situation with a new door lock/handle I had purchased. Didn't quite fit right, some holes in our wood door had been made by a previous installer in order to make it fit (but the holes were never dealt with), and the lock cylinder fell out completely in pieces. I had gone through two other locksmiths who couldn't seem to solve the problem. My husband was ready to throw the entire door out. Ray truly saved the day (and my door). Three of the four calls resulted in "the earliest we can come to you is tomorrow" responses, including Ray. (The fourth call never returned my message.) Ray, owner of NorCal Locksmith, is exceptionally responsive by cell or text. He helped us when a Medeco key broke off in one of our door locks. (The Medeco locks were installed by a previous owner prior to 1994. Medeco keys are almost impossible to duplicate and seem to be a home security overkill.) Due to Ray's obvious competence and demeanor, we had all of our Medeco locks replaced with standard Schlage locks a week later. This was performed quickly and with complete professionalism. I had a problem with the deadbolt on the front door of my house. It was sticking and I thought that I needed to either have the lock replaced or repaired. Given that I currently have all the locks on my house keyed the same way, I didn't want to purchase another lock and have to deal with multiple keys. I checked Yelp for a local locksmith with good reviews and found NorCal Locksmith. Based on the reviews I read, I decided to give them a call. The person I spoke with asked what the issue was. He asked if I had tried to lubricate the lock and while I had sprayed some lubricant on the bolt itself, it was suggested that I could try to lubricate the internals, if I was willing to give that a shot. If that didn't work or if I was not willing to try, he would be more than willing to come out and take a look himself. Really? Someone making a suggestion that would save me money? That's a rare find these days!!! To make a long review short...I unscrewed the two screws that held on the bolt knob and plate, sprayed some WD-40 to clear out some of the gunk, wiped it down and added some oil to the mechanism. Once it was all put back together, everything worked great! When/if I need a locksmith for other work, I will definitely call on NorCal Locksmith -- additionally, if I hear of anyone who is looking for a quality locksmith, I will send them to NorCal Locksmith! read more

I found Ray on Yelp when we had an interior door that was locked by one of my toddlers and the key was missing. He arranged to come over the next day at a time convenient for me. Over the phone, he gave me an idea what the pricing would be (basically, he told me exactly what it would be). He was prompt and courteous. It took him less than 3 minutes to pick the lock.
