Many doctors don't bother to view their patients as individuals, but rather as routine causes of illness or ailments that are seen day in and day out. Not so with Dr Fayssoux. He walked in with an air of genuine interest in meeting me; and introduced himself as "Reggie". He is conversational as if wanting to assess my personality and understand how I communicate . He has no air of superiority or impatience. He listened intently and didn't simply look at my MRI-he studied it -as if weighing options and not just going after a standard quick fix. He took as much time as I needed; answered all my questions with genuine helpful information and won my confidence within that hour. More importantly his surgery on me went well; when there seemed to be a glitch post op he wasted no time in getting to the root of the cause: treated it and resolved it to perfection. He is kind; and skilled and just an all around nice guy with a professional gift . You will be in excellent hands if you choose him.

I had a lumpectomy with Dr Peter Jamieson a few weeks ago at Desert Regional Hospital in Palm…read moreSprings. I was sent to him, in-network, by my insurer after a couple of lumps were found in my breast and the ensuing biopsy showed up pre-cancerous cells. Being passed along that way is a crapshoot so I pored over the reviews. Dr Jamieson's reviews fluctuate the extremes, so I'm making sure my honest one is here as testament. It had already been a long and arduous journey from the abnormal mammogram to sitting in the surgeon's office for the first time. Said journey had also involved a traumatic biopsy experience (somewhere else) that had left me with a hematoma and anxiety. Brief as the initial consultation was with Dr Jamieson, he was effective at winning my confidence in his knowledge and simultaneously managed to put to rest a lot of my anxieties. The support staff were polite and helpful and waits were extremely minimal. Staff also actually answer phones - no recorded prompts. Operating day went off without a hitch. Initial preparations at the Comprehensive Breast Center at Desert Regional Hospital, which included a wire localization went very smoothly. I was more nervous about this step than the actual surgery after that dreadful biopsy experience. Shout out to Dr Conston and Jessica! A big thank you to nurse Chantell, for all the welcomed hand-holding and genuine comforting. Getting to the operating wing, again, there was barely any waiting around. Staff were friendly, respectful, informative and efficient. The Doc popped in. I felt very comfortable the whole time. The anesthesiologist was smart and fun and her magic cocktail had my lights out before I ever saw the doctor again. I woke up cozy, what felt like 5 minutes later, feeling very rested and like nothing had happened but for curious clues on my body. My recovery has been incredibly fast and unexpectedly low pain. I didn't touch any prescribed narcotics, subsisting for a couple of days on Tylenol and ice packs. That's all that was needed and I'm positive this is due to Dr Jamieson's deft handiwork coupled with my decent level of health and fitness. Seeing the big, gnarly, old-school, stitches poking out of a large incision on my little breast has been confronting. But the incision looked healthy and calm throughout, no bruising or discoloration even. I showed the wound to a couple of friends who have been through this exact surgery and they were both amazed at how good and advanced in healing it looked. In time, I'm sure some topical Vitamin E and Egyptian Magic Balm will help leave it all a distant memory. Followup check up a week post-surgery, was fast and came with the vast relief of an all-clear cancer result. A week after that, there was another check in with Dr Jamieson who removed a couple of stitches before deciding the rest weren't ready. Finally, today, the rest were removed - closure for a precarious 6 moth chapter of my life. Hopefully, I will never see this man again. But if I have to have someone cut me open and stitch me up in the future, at least I know there's a surgeon, a team and a facility I can trust to do a good job of it.

This letter I sent to Eisenhower Patient Relations tells why I'm giving Dr. Wong this one-star…read morereview: To Eisenhower Patient Relations, The letter I sent to Dr. Wong through the portal, yesterday, summarizes the medical situation that I just went through: Dr. Wong, when I came to see you about what I thought was piriformis syndrome, with that large swollen area over the muscle, you gave me a Toradol shot, trigger point injection and sent me to PT, none of which helped, after which you referred me to Sports Med to get an MRI. In hindsight, sadly, all those pre-referral treatments probably aggravated the actual cause. The MRI revealed that I'd actually TORN my gluteus maximus, one-third of it, and there was a large fluid pocket above it that needed to be aspirated. Aspiration led to suspicion that the material in the fluid pocket was something requiring more testing and two days later, sports doc called me to say come into the hospital immediately, that fluid is a massive staph infection! I was released from Eisenhower Medical on Sunday after being admitted on Friday evening. Still on heavy antibiotics with a drainage tube and bag attached to my upper right butt. Swelling and pain, alone, can be a warning sign of a staph infection, according to medical literature, a warning sign sometimes mistaken as strictly muscle pain. At my age, that should have justified, for insurance, an immediate MRI that would have led to a quicker resolution and not put me at further risk of the staph getting deep into my muscles or my blood stream. Next time you see a patient with similar symptoms, you'll now know that there's the possibility of Staph as well as other options. Jonathan Bernstein Founder Bernstein Crisis Management ------------------------------------------------------------------------- In short, I was just lucky that my body contained the large infection area to a location where it could be drained and my Concierge Primary Care, Dr. Sanchez, has just ordered the drain removed because the liquid flow has dropped dramatically. In the time between Dr. Wong's missed diagnosis and the time the staph was infected and I was hospitalized was all time when I wasn't being treated for an infection at all - so it got worse. I ended up with a too-near-death experience. I loved the other docs involved - Dr. Sanchez, Dr. Chang the interventional radiologist - but I think Dr. Wong missed this diagnosis big time and the hospital should take appropriate steps.
