In response to Clara's note on 6/22: Before Clara can use COVID-19 an excuse to attack my character and call me me a "KAREN", I'm uploading our communication in the images if anyone wants to spend time reading it or see actual proof of our documented communication. Just to get the facts straight: 1. I had to call my credit card company and open the charges on 3/4 services after speaking to Clara on the phone (see email trail). Clara refused to offer a refund on any of the mistakes. All my tips and initial services were NOT refunded- so let's not proclaim the salon REFUNDED me anything. Calling my own credit card company was the last resort. To Clara's words exactly, Kat books a chair with the salon and Clara has no control on whether Kat will refund the services, even if it's for poorly done services The only concession Clara offered to me was "some products" when I specifically said my hair had to be fixed. And if you look at the photos - does that look like good work objectively? No. So let's not confused facts here. Taking advantage of a pandemic shutdown to twist it into an emotional narrative to take the problem away is not professional (like the rest of the owner's staff). Addressing the issue is. 2. I'm currently a client at another salon with no issues. In fact, I even wrote a 5 star review for a hair salon back on 3/6/2020. i don't see any mention of that. 3. Before you ofuscate the facts, again, other than Noorwyck, there was only ONE salon I wrote negatively about which was Soon Salon, BACK IN 2018. I clearly stated that at Soon that all they're good stylists left and I followed their stylist Rebecca outside of Soon who had been cutting my hair for years. So before you start critiquing my pass, maybe you should consider why I would write one in the first place. Clearly from the email, I had reached out to you to address it to which you simply did not want to New prospective clients can make their own judgments. For anyone wondering, if a salon consistently has 5 star service, you'd want to question it. Yelp makes money by offering owners to buy spots and promote only good reviews (I work in advertising, I would know. ) Don't try and attack an unhappy client's character to justify you and your staff's unprofessionalism and mistakes.

I love Noordwyck! I've been seeing Cat for the last few years and I'm never disappointed. I recently came in for a color correct and she was very honest with how long the process will take and what it entails. She ended up giving me the perfect results!! I highly recommend seeing Cat on your next appt

What a great experience! I hadn't done anything to my hair in years and the last time I cut it was 2019! I did a bunch of research and landed on this gem. I made an appointment for balayage with the owner, Clara and was so pleased with the result! I asked her a thousand questions along the way (fairly clueless about hair) and she was so informative! I had zero waiting time and there was only one other person there who was located behind me and off to the side so definitely socially distanced! Had a neighborhood feel with high end results. Will definitely come back!

I love Noordwyck Salon! I have been going to Clara for years for color and cut and am beyond thrilled with the results. Clara is an absolute master of her craft. There have been a couple times when I was out of town and mistakenly went to other stylists and I came running back to Noordwyck. The space is very comfortable and cute in its own little building with a nice waiting area. The business in general has a great feel and it is obvious that the stylists are a team and have a great rapport with each other. I always look forward to going in!

I first went to see Cat when I moved to NJ after a recommendation from a friend and I have never looked back. I went in with the most hideous damaged colouring from a previous hair dresser. I needed some serious colour correction from damaging blonde... I had orange, greens, yellow stripes. I left feeling AMAZING and the colour lasts so long. I don't get to do my hair often so Cat made it so it would grow out without looking ratty and I refuse to see anyone else!! Now COVID is over I am nervous to get on 3 trains to get to Brooklyn but I refuse for anyone else to touch my hair now lol. Worth the risk! Good conversation, she is easy to talk to, honest and so talented at her art!! Highly recommend you go see @snipsnip_kitty if you want a long lasting colour!!!

Never been on Yelp before because as a business owner I know sometimes we all make mistakes. If you are of South American descent be cautious!!! What I experienced yesterday really got me upset. So I first encountered Cat via Instagram because her work looked amazing. DM'd her and sent my 100 dollar deposit to secure my appointment via Venmo. The day of the appointment everything was going great! She was very patient and helpful up until she finished applying the lightener which we all know contains bleach. She said that we would have to wait about 30 minutes. During this time she was busy ordering food from Grubhub or Uber and I suppose eating. That's okay why not kill the 30 minutes doing something productive. After about 50 minutes she comes back. I thought maybe it took this long because I have really thick and black hair. When she came back I thought she was going to remove the foils. She said we would have to wait about another 15 minutes. At that point my mood changed. I think for the most part anyone that has gotten their hair done before knows that leaving bleach/lighter in your hair for over 45 minutes can fry the strands. I give her the benefit of the doubt since she's the expert! Over an hour and 15 minutes go by (I timed it with my GMT watch) and she finally took the foils off. I was so upset because I knew that this wasn't right. Instead of doing her job she was too busy eating I guess. She then applied the toner and gave me a haircut which was great. I go home and take a shower around 10:30 pm after I finished a networking project. That was about 8-9 hours after my appointment was done. I woke up the next morning and realized that my hair was all fried. I wasn't mad initially because it's just hair and we all make mistakes, it happens. What got me pissed off was her reply after I told her that she might have fried my hair via Instagram. All I wanted was a simple form of accountability. Maybe a small I'm sorry or come in and we'll try to fix it. No refund no nothing. Maybe she wasn't used to working with South American hair since most of the customers were Caucasian. She came up with excuses and a petty reply. After spending over $290 for her services (plus the $100 deposit she pocketed) I couldn't get a simple I'm sorry? She works more like a scammer then a professional I suppose. I.E. the prices on their website don't reflect the prices of the hairstylist. I guess they just rent a chair and set their own prices. I would love to give them a second chance because the other stylist did a great job on the other customers! Just not with Cat. She is highly unprofessional and rude.

This is SERIOUSLY day 3 hair! I didn't do anything to it. If anything I did everything you're not supposed to do to preserve your style.

I followed Kat to Noordwyck after she left Hair Metal and I have to say it's a major improvement in ambience and amenities (unlike a lot of Williamsburg salons they actually allow you to pay with a credit card and they have online booking and texting appointment reminders). It's a beautiful, well-designed salon and because it's on Berry, you can actually find parking on the rare occasion you have to drive. More importantly though, everybody is friendly. It's a smaller space, only five chairs, so if you're there double-processing for four hours you really get to know everybody. Kat herself is queen of my heart. I've been going to her to get my hair done for over a year now ever since she did an amazing color correction to rescue my badly damaged and somehow minty green hair (don't ask me how you get that when you're asking for dusty blue, it was bad all around), but she outdid herself when I went to see her on Sunday. I was going for a darker denim-y blue with a shadow root and the color turned out great as well as the styling, but most amazingly, three days later, despite sleeping and putting my hair up and going out and about, it still was in perfect shape when I wore it down. I was floored. Basically go, let her work her magic, bask in the cute insta-worthy interior, you won't regret it.

Robyn has been cutting my hair for years. I do not live in NYC but every time I come to town I make sure to fit a visit to Robyn into my schedule. She is incredibly precise and she takes her time to assess your face and make sure that the style that you desire will work for you. She is the most talented hairstylist I have ever seen and I usually grow my hair out so that I can see her and she can make a change for me. I have already received multiple compliments from strangers on how great I look. I highly reccomend her!

I've followed Robyn to Noordwyck after having her cut my hair for many years prior at a precious salon. She never fails to make me look and feel beautiful! Her blowouts are amazing and last for days if you don't get them wet
