You can pay with cash or ask to muck stalls for riding time. The stable supplies riding tack and equipment if you do not have your own. The instructors can teach you anything from the very basics of tacking your horse, riding techniques, get you ready for your next event, to even prepare a horse for trails if you are not comfortable to do so yourself. The instructors are very nice and helpful and the regulars are too.

She was in a pasture with 7 other horses, fighting for food. She had abscesses, and the owner/trainer told me to ride her with those abscesses while she was lame and clearly in pain. She had awful rain rot from not being in shelter, and cuts all over her from being bullied just trying to get food. there is NO grass, knee deep mud. The property is extremely small, no more than 3 acres, with WAY too many horses, and only 10 stalls. Last time I counted there were 25 horses. The conditions are sickening. There is trash everywhere, water troughs are filthy, horses come up lame left and right because of the mud and rocks. They were sliding down the pastures because they couldn't get to water safely. There have been situations when i have been lied to about the care of my horse, and questioned whether she was even fed. There was barely any shavings in her stall, and come feeding time buckets were shared around between horses and rarely cleaned. I am younger and new to horse ownership, but i know that this is no place for a horse to be kept. As far as lessons, i wouldn't recommend it. I got no where, and the owner/trainer does not know nearly as much about riding as she says she does. I was taking lessons on lesson horses, who had visible ribs, and were so underweight they look like they'd been abandoned. The lesson horses shouldn't be in a program, they are underweight and overworked. I am beyond embarrassed to have ever been associated with this barn. The fact that the owner is so blind to see what she is putting her animals through is horrific. New families and boarders are taken advantage of and a fake front is put on making Underhill seem like a great family friendly and welcoming environment, however it is the opposite.

Having constant turnout in giant pastures with other horses, as well as unlimited hay and ample grain has made him perfectly plump and healthy. Her thoughtful, kind, and strategic approach to training my ottb has made him more than happy to work and given him the balance and confidence to do things I once thought impossible. But the biggest thing more me is her patience with me. I was scared of my horse that I didn't understand. Michele has taught me how to better horse owner, horse listener, and given my boy and I confidence and trust in each other. Finally, with her network of top-notch professionals (farrier, vet, etc.) my guy is...dare I say...an easy keep?! I couldn't live this place more. When I was forced to move to a few years after coming here, I chose to keep my guy here and visit monthly. Kim truly loves her horses and cares for them with so much compassion. She brushed each one, sprayed them down so the bugs didn't bother them and saddled them up. She made sure our stirrup's fit properly and we loaded up for the ride. Once out of the gate we headed for the trail and then through the woods, crossed a creek and even met some of her neighbors along the ride. We trotted and galloped, my goodness I loved EVERY second of it!!! The horses listened very well. They look to Kim as their leader and will not run without her doing so even if you try to get them to. We will definitely be back when the weather cools down. I love that she doesn't run her horses in summer much because of the heat. This is a wonderful place to ride.

It was hot and humid but the ride was mostly in shade. The horses were very well behaved, and my daughter absolutely loved it. Her horse was well behaved and gave no issues. My wife's horse kept eating (much like me), but still was gentle and easy going. This place is great for beginners as the horses are well behaved. You take a 15 minute tutorial in how to ride then off you go.
