The food is reasonably priced. The best part: Thai iced tea for $2! I always end up ordering two cups cause it's so addicting. For the appetizers, I've tried the chicken wings, curry puff, shrimp rolls and spring rolls. They're all good but I really like the curry puffs and spring rolls. The chicken wings are a bit spicy. The red curry chicken was generously portioned but the sauce wasn't as coconuty as I expected. The usual pad Thai and pad see ew is on par with your standard Thai restaurants. I have been to many Thai restaurants in NYC. This place is pretty on point with the flavors. We tried the chicken satay, curry puffs and bbq pork bun. We were disappointed by the pork bun as it was just a frozen bun (heated up, of course) I could have bought from the Asian supermarkets. The chicken satay was a bit dry as well, probably because they used white meat. We had the pad thai, green curry, drunken noodles and green noodles as our entrees. These entrees all tasted really good, only complaint is that the spice level was too low, even medium wasn't spicy. We also shared the whole snapper and braised pork hock. The fish was huge and cooked to perfection, felt it was a great deal. The pork was delicious. It was tender and melted as you ate it. Overall, I'd give this restaurant 4.5 stars if I could because of the minor details that I didn't like. read more

But this place has good ventilation, owners were sweet and had a simple but homey menu to choose from. The portions were also pretty good as well. I really wanted to give this place 5 stars but I developed a really bad stomach ache after eating their yellow curry. However, their service was super accommodating and quick! Maybe I just have a sensitive stomach but the two things I ate were Thai ice tea and the yellow curry. There is plenty of parking in the area so if you want quick Thai food stop by. I ordered the following: Spicy green noodles with beef: the noodles were cooked well but the beef was very tough and thinly cut. The sauce was very salty too. It's always great to have a new and different restaurant on Staten Island since most chains or the same kind of foods dominate this borough. So I was pretty excited to hear about this Thai place on Victory Blvd. The restaurant is clean and a small place in general, but there was room to fit our group of 9. We had one waitress the whole time and she was very sweet and attentive with our requests and water refills. We ordered the papaya salad for an appetizer and it was fresh. I didn't expect to like it but I did. I ordered the drunken noodles for my entree and it was on par with your typical Thai restaurant in Manhattan. I would order it again. I also got the Thai iced coffee which was sweet. The owner of the restaurant stopped at our table to chat with us. I always appreciate when the owner goes out of his or her way to welcome customers. To start, walked in and placed an order to go. Order in 15 minutes. 20 minutes later I returned. They say that the pork buns I ordered are not in stock and would give me chicken in exchange. I declined and got the refund for that. Food not ready. 10 minutes later the food is done. The counter girl opens and examined the basil fried rice dish. Tells me they put bochi in it and that she was sending it back to the kitchen. I didn't get that. 10 minutes later get the food. Get home, eat.... Not even good. I doubt I would even give this place another chance. The first impression beside the upscale to stay Chinese restaurant look it had, everything else about it was terrible. When you taste their noodles, such as their Pad Thai, you will never enjoy Pad Thai from another restaurant ever again. Noodle Fan puts some quality ingredients in their plates and they don't cost much. The menu isn't too extensive but they make what they make very good and that is the noodle plates. Their other dishes aren't that great however. The chicken dumplings lacked flavor as did the shrimp/chicken shumai. I still live noodle fan but $17 for a MANDATORY combo with a can of soda is nuts. Trust me I understand that during COVID prices have changed but as you can tell I was a fan from day one! The staff is really friendly. I had very high hopes for this place, the first time I ordered takeout from them I had a pleasant experience. But just this Monday, I ordered Pad Thai with tofu. When I go home I realized it was shrimp fried rice (I'm allergic), they were already closed at this point so I couldn't call or go back. I understand mistakes happen, but it was a wasted meal, wasted money. Skip to today, still super in the mood for pad Thai just got home late from work. Order for takeout. When I get there I tell the man about what happened Monday (which he knew about bc whoever got my order came back to what they ordered). So before I pay I checked my order. Again, the wrong order. At this point I though out of good customer service he wouldn't charge me for my meal. I was wrong. And it just left a bad taste in my mouth. Now to the real bad taste. Very excited I get home & open my food. It was so dry, it was literally a loaf of pad Thai that I had to eat with a fork and knife. Visited Noodlefan for the first time at around 3oclock, so it was pretty empty. From the window I saw many takeout orders heading out the door, so I took that as a good sign. The menu is super approachable even for someone like me who is slightly intimidated by foods that are not in my comfort zone (aka pizza & all sweets). The prices are extremely fair, and as a vegetarian there are many options to chose from. Also, the little pepper to indicate spiciness was extremely helpful because I am not much of a spice lover and a lot of Thai food is spicy -- this menu is basically Thai food for dummies. We ordered a Thai Tea ($3.00) and it was simple, yet very tasty. It was not too sweet, and the tea taste was still very prominent unlike some Thai Teas that taste like straight sugar. For an appetizer we ordered the Mild Green Papaya Salad ($9.00) (also available in medium and hot) and the shitake mushroom spring rolls ($4.00 for 4). The papaya salad was fresh, delicious, and the green beans, tomatoes, and iceberg lettuce left for an untraditional yet comforting salad for us Thai food newbies. The little fried springrolls came filled with noodles, mushrooms, and veggies and were served with a sweet and sour type chili dipping sauce -- they were awesome. My mom even said that they were the best spring rolls she has ever had. For some entree's we got the Yellow Curry with Tofu ($10.00) that comes with potatoes, onions, and crispy onions served with a side of jasmine rice. I am not extremely experienced in the world of curry, but there was no denying that this was delicious. On a cold rainy day, this curry coats your stomach, warms your soul, and makes you feel good. The rice on the side is perfect to alternate bites with the powerful curry; my only critique is there could have been a little less potato. Our other meal was a Cashew Rice dish with "Vegetarian Duck" ($12.00) that had pineapple, peppers, cashews, onions, and some type of brown soy-sauce based glaze. They also had tofu option for this meal, veggie, and vegetarian chicken: it's like vegetarian/vegan heaven. We finally got an order of Sticky Rice ($2.00), which I am a little more familiar with because I order it everywhere I see it. This rice was out of this world good, authentic sticky rice coated in that coconut milk sweet sauce that I would voluntarily take a bath in. Big portions, great quality, cheap, good service, and perfect introductory menu that allows you to break out of your burgers and fries shell without feeling like your reading a menu in a different language.
