    Pita with poutine.
    Dallas M.

Went for a bite today while in Windsor from Michigan and I was stoked. Maggie was the bartender and she was rad. She recommended a really good local kombucha I had never had and a phenomenal seitan pita with tzatziki sauce and a good sized portion of poutine on the side. It was worth crossing the river. No regrets and I will be back for more.

i'm posting this day after and it just so happens to be april 1st, but rest assured nooch. is no joke. i've been wanting to try this place since covid, but i'd only been to canada once since then prior to yesterday and they were closed. we got there (four of us) at about 5:30pm on a friday and they were pretty busy (that changed by the time we left at 7ish), but we were able to be seated right away. the aesthetic is sleek and modern with an upscale-but-casual feel. i ordered "the dude" seasonal cocktail to start off and it was daaaangerously good. a kahlua-esque cold coffee drink with some whiskey and it went down waaay too easy. excellent start! for appetizers we opted for the poutine and bites... again, fantastic. the breading on the bites was crispy and well-seasoned, plus the seitan wasn't super thick or chewy like it often can be (more on that later). of course it helped that the sauces were tasty as well. i especially like the 3rd degree -- as someone who is obsessed with spicy foods, this was a nice light-to-mid heat that hit just right. the blue cheese it comes with i was excited to try, and it is pretty great, but absolutely falls more on the ranch side than it does blue cheese. the poutine? what's there to say. the gravy is exactly like its non-vegan variety, and the hand cut fries are a 10. their cheese curds are also some of the best vegan curds i've had.. just an absolute must-order when you visit nooch. for my entree i went back and forth on what i wanted to order, but ultimately settled on the cheesesteak (to compare to ones i've personally made prior), and the supreme fries. the fries were excellent. i was mum on the idea of lentil chili (it turns to mush -- it is what it is), but it's flavored perfectly with a strong kick of cumin. somehow the pico may be the most important part of these fries, imparting some much-needed acid. i prefer and recommend the poutine over these, but you can't go wrong ordering either. honestly, they should offer a "fry flight" appetizer -- i'd've loved to try the buffalo fries! my cheesesteak wound up being the worst thing of all that i tried. not to say it was bad, but the seitan seemed a bit thick and a little too chewy to remind me of a cheesesteak. the flavor itself was good (it nailed the grill flavor on it and the veggies), and the bread was perfect, but the seitan wasn't quite there. enjoyed it, but would certainly try something else on visit number two. the bite i had of the jackfruit sandwich (not pictured) that was ordered was probably the best bite of jackfruit i've had. it is definitely inherently a bit soft (since that's how jackfruit feels), but the texture of it and flavor of the sauce is pretty spot on. their cheesy pasta comes highly recommended, but i thought it was just... fine. granted i had a small bite and it was a strong hit of green onion in that bite, but it just didn't seem all that, well... cheesy. i admittedly didn't eat enough to offer a great take on it, but my girlfriend (who ordered it) said something similar -- "it's good, but not as good as the one i make." 100% agreed. i will say if you have celiac or are gluten intolerant, they take it seriously here. my girlfriend has celiac, and so ordered this pasta with their gluten free pasta (which by the way was not unlike traditional pasta), and didn't have a flare up afterwards. score. not pictured or tried was their big mock. having had CMO's (RIP) and odd burger's, i damn near ordered this for comparison's sake. i was told it's the best fake big mac between the three -- so now i'm thinking i need to order it myself next time to see for myself. that segways me into their specials: they have specials every week that tend to look unbelievable. i was a little underwhelmed by them for our visit, but check out their page on facebook or instagram and you'll know what i'm talking about! anyway.. this is getting exhausting -- one last note: the service. as said, by the time we were leaving, they were pretty effing packed. yet, they only had two waiters. the service was good at first, but it took awhile to get our bill when we were done, and finding time to ask for a water refill (or another boozy bevvy) seemed impossible -- a second drink that was ordered was forgot about, but we just let it go. if you're obsessive over having good service, maybe don't expect that here.. and pace yourself when you're drinking just in case they're shorthanded. personally, so long as my waiter doesn't physically assault me, i have no real complaints -- so i thought it was fine. bonus points: our waiter was helpful in offering food and drink suggestions on the menu when we sat down. okay i think i'm about done. TL;DR -- get your pud ass to nooch.

My boyfriend and I ate here last night for our anniversary and it was amazing! The staff were extremely polite and helpful; any questions you have about the menu they can answer! The menu is COMPLETELY vegan which was extremely comforting to know. The restaurant itself was really cute and the vibe was super chill, exactly what we were looking for our anniversary dinner! The food was delicious and there were so many choices and a great variety of foods to choose from as well. I got the cheesy pasta and my boyfriend got the philly cheesesteak; both were to die for. We're from Detroit so we drove over the bridge to get here and my boyfriend and I both said we would happily come back and make this a regular outing :) Can't wait to come back!

    Big Mock

I've been meaning to try this place since I wanted to eat less meat and I heard many good things about them. It doesn't hurt that it's also only 2 blocks from where I am currently staying in Windsor. The first time I tried to order was about an hour before closing. They already stopped taking orders because they were overwhelmed. He suggested that I order ahead as it gets very busy. I decided I really have to try the place for sure! Next day I tried again, this time ordering in the afternoon for pickup in 2 hours. I ordered the Big Mock (meatless burger) and poutine. He suggested I get the burger and a side of poutine as it would be a better deal. I ordered for curbside pickup. I really could not taste any difference between the Big Mock and a regular burger. It was juicy, tasty and full of flavour. It was not overcooked or dry. Poutine was out of this world. When I ate it, it filled me with such excitement I can only say if one could have an orgasm in their mouth, this would be it. I wanted to save some for the next day but couldn't resist and ended up finishing the rest of the poutine that evening. Apparently they use some kind of house-made cheese sauce in the poutine. I'm sure that helped. I forgot that vegan food could taste this good. I generally live in Vancouver and we have a number of great vegan options out there. They are pricey though. I have also been to the internationally renown Vedge in Philadelphia (vegan fine dining). I know what great vegan food tastes like. I'm absolutely floored that there is a vegan restaurant of this caliber here in Windsor!! Glad I gave them a nice tip when I picked up the food. They absolutely deserve it.

This place blew my mind. I highly, highly recommend. Firstly, the people are so kind, it's unbelievable. Secondly, the food touched my soul and I will be returning as soon as physically possible (from the USA). The cheesy pasta was to die for. The potine had my heart throbbing. Pros: -great, romantic atmosphere -absolutely amazing food -great wine choices -interesting variety of dishes -it is ALL vegan. No worrying about accidental cheese/dairy. Cons: -small seating arrangements which could probably cause long wait times? Now go give this place a shot! It might be my new all time favorite vegan restaurant.

My question is, why hasn't this place been reviewed yet, it's amazing!! Unfortunately, I am not vegan, but I do enjoy eating vegan fare. I had come for dinner to meet up with a friend, who is vegan and came to Windsor for a show that night. Recently moving back to Windsor, from London, where there were a lot more options (that I was aware of) for vegan cuisine. When I was recommended this place, I was told that it was always busy (which is great!) so I made sure I came early, and reserved a seat for my friends and I, and I'm glad I did, because around 5:00pm, it did start to get a bit busy, and the restaurant itself is quaint, and small, it makes the eating experience that much better in my opinion. Browsing the menu, I chose the Big Mock and a house salad, which as this delicious balsamic vinaigrette dressing and shredded carrots, with romaine and kale, that salad was so delicious. The burger too was just as delicious, and very saucy, mimicking the original, but better. My friend who had the Philly Cheese steak, said it was absolutely delicious as well. If you like fries, which I don't, (reserve judgement, please, LOL) they have regular fries or Cajun flavoured fries available as well! For dessert that night, they were offering a cheesecake and carrot cake, we all opted for the carrot cake, and dived right in, the slice was big, enough for the three of us, and moist, and the icing was decadent. I thought I could eat the whole piece to myself. I absolutely want to come back here often, as it was such a great experience, that you wouldn't even know you were missing eating meat. I hope everyone can be more open to the fact (myself included) that you can enjoy food without eating meat.

Supreme Fries and Jackfruit BBQ Sandwich. The best we've ever had!

Delicious vegan food and very friendly service. Both the food and service are consistent. The owners are very friendly and personable. We love their Surpreme fries and BBQ Jackfruit sandwich. Their Carrot cake is so moist and yummy!! We drive from metro detroit at least once every two months to enjoy this vegan gem! A must try! We love that they are open regular hours on Sunday!

Don't be fooled by the lack of reviews. This place is amazing. Good quality food served with a great attitude. I am not vegan but vegetarian and I was impressed with everything. You have to try the vegan poutine fries.

I happened to go on a day they were testing a new vegan pizza they are adding to the menu and I just wish I took a picture before I ate it lol so good y'all like their vegan cheese is undefeated and all the food was so flavorful. My boyfriend and I tried the pizza(wasn't on the menu yet so I'm not sure what it was called I just know it was super cheesy had pepperoni and jalapeños which complimented the flavor soo nicely and we aren't even pizza fans like that especially not with jalapeños but I would definitely get it again), the all American deluxe burger and waffle fries(I loved how it wasn't a dry burger like it was real juicy and the fries were A1), and the Gordita crunch tacos(tasted like I got them from an authentic Mexican food truck like F**k a Taco Bell fr). With the five star service they give I don't even mind the prices at all, like I would tip that much anyways because they deserve every penny they receive fr! And still tipped lmao. We pulled up to order but you have to pay online for card and they weren't accepting cash so we just ordered from the car with our phones from their website which was cool because it was cold outside lol. Fast service and I wish I would've caught the guys name working he was such a sweetheart! I love people who love their jobs and show it.

We've been a plant-based family for nearly a decade, and when we landed in Detroit, we saw that this place was a must visit because of their plant based options. We got the soul burger and the "D-Boy" which had a fried onion ring on top of a very well seasoned plant-based patty that thankfully was not your typical mock meat like impossible and beyond meat brands. The onion rings were very good. It's very important if you are plant based or plant curious that you try your best to avoid mock meat because many of them have just as much chemical and unhealthy ingredients as regular meat. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and will definitely be back. You should try those burgers definitely if you're ever in the Detroit area. The vibe Inside was well done and the staff were helpful and helping us pick from the options they had on the menu, which was a lot. This time I came for brunch and ordered the shaken espresso, biscuits and gravy, a pancake on the side, and the lemon arugula salad. Starting with the drink -- the shaken espresso was very sweet. I'm not really a sweets person, so it just wasn't for me. I was hoping for something a bit more balanced and bold. For food, I got the biscuits and gravy because I was craving something savory and salty... but surprisingly, the gravy tasted sweet. The biscuits also weren't as fluffy as I expected and were a little hard to cut into. I really wanted that soft, buttery, comforting brunch vibe and it just didn't hit. I also added a pancake on the side and it was insanely sweet as well. By that point I was genuinely confused why everything leaned so sugary. I totally get that some people love sweeter brunch options -- it just wasn't what I was expecting across the board. The lemon arugula salad though? Perfect. Fresh, balanced, and exactly what I needed to offset everything else. The location itself is super cute -- it has such a cool vintage diner feel, and I loved the free arcade games in the back. That part of the experience was honestly so fun. Our waitress was nice. Overall, I'd definitely still go back -- but I'll personally stick to their lunch/dinner menu next time since that's where they really shine for me.
