The food served were definitely the traditional Spanish tapas. We had the pata negra jamon Iberico which were okay but was really hoping to get the acorn-fed black pig ham but they did not have it. It was a quaint little restaurant and we sat outside even though it was chilly. The servers were extremely helpful and friendly. The food was Spanish tapas and it was some of the best food I've ever had. Chicago's tapas restaurants cannot hold a candle to this. Everything was good. I really loved the anchoa which was an anchovy toast and the berenjas which was like a crispy eggplant with mushrooms.

I really wanted to enjoy this place more than I did, but the menu is very limited compared to what I have seen in other tapas restaurants. Therefore, Barca came to our rescue. Barca is a Spanish restaurant, so red wine is a must. And from what we discovered, Barca had the best prices for wine, compared to many bars we had visited. Glasses were about six bucks, US dollars, and the pours were fair. Yet, if wine isn't your thing, they do have a full bar. Many people were dining in, and what came out of the kitchen looked yummy! But the bar area that we were in was spacious and nice. Service was also very good. Glad to have found a place while traveling for glasses of malbec.

She was super nice and patient with our language barrier. The menu is almost entirely in Dutch, and so we had to google a lot of things. We ended up getting the Geit Kerrie and Thaise Kip. The goat curry came with curry potatoes and green beans, served with roti as you would expect in any West Indian place. It was phenomenally good and perfectly spicy. The Thaise Kip was a chicken, cashew, and veggie dish was served with rice and pickled onions. We were similarly wowed by this dish. Because of the wide variety of flavor profiles available in Surinamese cooking, from Curry with roti to stir fries, this is a restaurant where anyone will find something to their liking.
