This entire experience was delightful. From the warm greeting we received as we walked in the door (whom we later realized was the owner of the restaurant) to the delicious, did I say delicious? food (expertly prepared by the single handed Chef working in perfect harmony with his well prepared kitchen...cooking in a restaurant, done well, is a beautiful dance..and I gotta say Chef.. you killed it. I watched you cook the ENTIRE time I was there and kudos to doing literally EVERYTHING, and everything SO. VERY. WELL.
Also. Not to mention the wonderfully thoughtful service.. Our waiter was so pleasant and patient, I noticed him interacting with a couple from Spain that didn't know English or Dutch, after he took their orders he inquired about where they we're from and It seemed he made them (tourists like myself) feel very comfortable and at home with where they decided to enjoy and share a meal; This type of service goes further in my mind than the food itself, you really hit it out of the park. It was so nice to see that no matter what language you speak, kindness is the key to all connection.
Ok, now. I'm a sucker for Maldon or corse sea salt on a "do it yourself" butter or olive oil tray, and yes. THEY HAD IT. It truly was quite a find. I don't even have to speak on our meals because they were so fantastic and I'm sure you can't get a bad one here-- my brother licked his plate clean and I ate my leftovers 30 min. after I came back to the hotel.
I am traveling with my little brother and the owner was so sweet she actually took the time to stop by our table to chat, say hello and to inquire about our journey around Europe. Hospitality is in my blood and these wonderful people hit everything spot on. I've always questioned work life balance when it comes to running a restaurant, but after last night, I realize it's maybe possible to have it all. Thank you truly. read more
