I love Noland's because they have some of the best Santa Cruz gear sold here. They keep up with trends and have the coolest designs. I have 4-5 of their sweatshirts and a couple of their long sleeves that ive been wearing for years! They have good quality bathing suits, shorts, hoodies, sunglasses, back packs, basically everything you'd need for a good beach day and some afternoon fun in the sun. The people that work here are super welcoming and nice giving this place a local beach town feel. I love it! This place is rad! The owners are really good people!! There are usually a group of items on a sale rack outside with some pretty good discounts. Sometimes you see the same items on the rack if you return after a few weeks. The store is convenient to go to when you are at the beach, and they have a nice selection of different brands of clothing, with many different choices--shirts,hoodies and more--that say Santa Cruz on them ( the city, not the company). A lot of the designs are really attractive. The sales staff is considerate enough to remind you that sale items are final sale. Overall a pleasant place to shop. read more

This is an obligatory stop whenever we're in SC and we always find one or two things to buy. They have a good selection of clothing and accessories for your beachy lifestyle. Sale items often yield some good discounts on cool stuff. I note in other reviews that the employees seem disinterested and inattentive (not totally wrong) but they are friendly and helpful when directly engaged (in other words "the kids are alright"). A great place to get souvenirs on the Santa Cruz Wharf. This store is right on the wharf. There is parking right on the wharf outside the shop. Inside the store has a lot of merchandise. The prices were very reasonable. The staff was friendly. We liked it so much we drove 50 miles to visit again and purchase another gift for our daughter. If you want souvenirs in the Santa Cruz area, this is a good place to get them. read more

Whenever I'm traveling or taking a vacation day, I can't help but stop into kitschy little shops to find myself a small momento or knick-knack. This particular wharf shop sells mainly clothing items such as shirts, sweatshirts/hoodies, socks, bathing suits/bikinis, sandals, and backpacks. Though they also have some fun local-themed scented candles (like California Poppy, Highway 1 Redwood, and Beach Boardwalk, to name a few). There are also a selection of stickers by the register in a glass panel case. The cashier greeted me as I came in and made friendly small talk, asking how my day was. I purchased a shirt and it was a pleasant experience. She offered me a large bag so I could continue shopping on the wharf. Their paper bags are a 25 cent added charge. read more

One of the better fashion type shops on the wharf. Yeah yeah I know it's officially the "santa cruz municipal wharf" but nobody calls it that. It's just the wharf. The wharf has it's own parking, for which alas you will pay for at a rate of a buck every 20 minutes in the summer season, significantly less in the winter. Usually there will be parking somewhere on the wharf if not in directly in front of Noland's but in the summer the wharf is an extremely very much busy and popular destination. In the summer if you see an open spot take it immediately regardless of where it is. They carry an array of clothing for all types of people, both men's and women's styles for ages ranging from swaddling infant to one foot in the grave geriatric. It's mostly what could be called beach wear but in northern California that includes hoodies, sweatshirts and light jackets along with the expected bikini's and surf shorts. Also flip flops/chappels and a better then expected range of accessories including jewlery. A short not definitive list of brands includes Billabong, Hurley, Santa Cruz, Quicksilver, Sex Wax, Roxy, Fox, O'neill, Dakine, Surf City, Reef, Istly, Pleasure Point, UGG, Rainbow, Spy, Oakley, Electric, Smith, Von Zipper, Ray Ban, Raisins, & Radio Fiji if any of that means anything to you. In addition they carry the usual touristy knock knacks-refrigerator magnets, key chains, santa cruz stickers etc. Most of the focus here is on clothing however. Service is pretty laid back. You'll be free to poke around at your leisure and if you have questions either go up and ask for help or simply hover next to the jewelry counter for 20 seconds or so, then someone will come to you Pricing can be low-they typically have some buy one get one free type deals and there is a clearance rack both right outside the door designed to lure you in, and another better one towards the back of the store. Right on the wharf! This shop is perfect for the local beach bum or the venturing tourist. Noland's on the Wharf is a very neat shop. It's a place you will find flip flops and Santa Cruz Skateboard hoodies year round. They also vary many sporty brands like reef, Oakley, Rocky, Billabong and others. This is a true beach shop. The Wharf is one of my favorite favorites local places to go. FYI: You need to pay for parking here. read more

This will not be your typical review. I was visiting from San Diego, out on a jog. My ipod touch battery was dying so I stepped into a nearby shop to ask the woman if I could charge my device. She told me "no." As I left her shop, I got "dived bombed" by a seagull. :( Not a great morning... Discouraged, I went into Nolands and IMMEDIATELY was put at ease. They happily allowed me to charge my device and the owner told me his parents opened the shop in the early 60's. He was sincere and kind and we even had a conversation about how I'd recently finished cancer treatment. When I unplugged my cord and left, one of the female clerks dashed out and gave me the adapter that I'd neglected to take with me. This type of caring and family atmosphere makes this shop exceptional. I didn't really have cash with me but the merchandise I saw was excellent and I highly recommend this shop!! read more

Nolands is the bomb. Best place for Santa Cruz related clothing, bags, hats, and shoes. Their stickers, pins and patches were what drew me inside. Plus my aunt, who's a local, loves this place; that tells you a lot. The employees were chill and helpful. I read on their website, that they're utilizing the quarantine to renovate and make the place ADA compliant. That really shows what kind of people they are! I'm physically disabled, and am fortunate to have the ability to ambulate out of a chair. But am sincerely grateful that I can someday take my chair inside! Must stop shop in Santa Cruz, and the best on the wharf, hands down! read more

Was walking on the pier and found myself in this little store. I wanted new sandals since the ones I was wearing was hurting my feet from all the walking. Yes I got my Rainbow sandals here, but later on my foot paid for the blisters on them. We also saw Ugg sandals, those was interesting but very soft, fuzzy, and comfortable. read more

Buyer beware. Their return policy is store credit only. The owner is not very customer service oriented. I tried to return a pair of shorts less than 24 hours after purchase, new with tags never worn with receipt. He only offered store credit and refused to give me a refund. There is a much better store on the boardwalk the O'neill Surf Shop just outside the arcade. Much larger selection, better prices, and great customer service. read more
