He had me laughing so hard I felt immediately I was at the right place. He made sure I was comfortable, told me to stop him at anytime I become uncomfortable. Unfortunately, one of the implants was placed in the wrong tooth position, specifically #6 and #5. Implants should have been placed in #6 and #3 as was the original contract. This made it impossible to proceed with a planned bridge. I had to undergo additional procedures and pay for another implant. Even after doing so I still have a space in the back of my mouth after the teeth were placed. This has resulted in significant cost, time and stress. I wish the planning and placement had been done more carefully from the start as it has long lasting consequences for my dental treatment options. Patients considering implant work may want to ask detailed questions about planning and positioning before proceeding.

But I'd had a good one with the periodontist whose practice Dr. Kiefer took over. So, I was again up in the air, not knowing the doctor and how it would go. It went fabulously. Everyone was very nice and Dr. Kiefer proved to be an excellent clinician and even gave me her cell phone number, a "home care" package with an ice pack and more. Fast forward to the present -- time for another gum graft. This time I referred myself to Dr. Kiefer when my dentist confirmed my diagnosis. The wait was going to be horrendous (a problem with this practice, she's very popular and doesn't work full weeks) and they offered me a spot on the waiting list. Sure enough, I was in there for an evaluation right away. And I got in off the waiting list for the procedure right away too. Dr. Kiefer wonderful and her staff is too. Everyone is very accommodating and kind. I hope I don't need any more procedures, but this is the place to go.

When I didn't receive a call, I followed up and spoke with Miranda and the experience was incredibly frustrating. She was extremely difficult. Instead of helping, she was combative and dismissive. We went back and forth on the phone for about seven minutes over a simple request: arranging the follow-up call I had already been told to expect. I had to ask multiple times before she finally agreed to have the doctor call me directly. When I asked when I could expect the call, she told me the doctor is "busy all day, every day" and couldn't provide even a general timeframe. That response was unprofessional and unnecessary. I completely understand that doctors are busy but basic communication and courtesy should still apply. This interaction made an already stressful situation worse. I hope management addresses how patients are spoken to, because no one should have to push this hard just to receive follow-up.

Waited a half hour and was told I would need to wait another 2 hours to be seen. Apparently I was supposed to come in earlier to fill out paperwork, but no one told me to come in early. I would have had no problem doing that if it had been communicated. And I did come in 5 minutes early anyway. They overbooked themselves and tried to gaslight me into thinking I did something wrong, So incredibly unprofessional. They tried to call me back to get me in an hour after I left but it was too late by then and I was already turned off by the unprofessionalism. The place is tiny and claustrophobic btw. No windows. Blessing in disguise that I didn't become a patient here.

Until a horribly cracked tooth forced my hand earlier this week, there was nothing in this world that could have dragged me to one. That said, like all matters in my life I turned to the people I trust and respect in times of necessity. For the past two years I have been lucky enough to have DR. Katarina Pavlicic as a client of mine and felt comfortable seeking her advice as the pain mounted and the need for treatment became unavoidable. Surprisingly, on her vacation, she took my call and was kind enough to listen while I whined on and on. She gave me many suggestion and solutions on dealing with the pain with the bottom line being that I could see one of her recommended colleagues, or wait and see her in two days. I chose the latter and have been thrilled I did so. From the moment I arrived and was greeted by Rene at check- in, to the dental assistant Ellen's amazing way of being comforting and funny I was put much more at ease than I expected. I relaxed and put my trust in Katarina. Before I knew it, I was walking out the door. It was not painless, but it was nothing like I had feared and I will definitely be back for continuing treatments.
