I had a disappointing experience at Quincy Dental. I found the dentist to be rude and unprofessional, and I did not feel comfortable with the way I was treated during my visit. The office itself felt cramped and was located in a basement space that felt stuffy and uncomfortable. I understand that others may have different experiences, but based on my visit, I did not feel respected as a patient and would not choose to return. read more

I would like to file a formal complaint regarding my recent experience at this dental office. Before my appointment, I asked the staff to verify whether my health insurance was accepted and whether my treatment would be covered. I did not receive clear assistance, and I felt that the staff did not properly perform their responsibilities regarding insurance verification. In addition, I found the office environment to be unprofessional and uncomfortable. The facility was located in a basement setting that did not meet my expectations for a healthcare provider. Most importantly, I felt that the dentist was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional during my visit. I did not feel respected as a patient, and my concerns were not addressed appropriately. I am very disappointed with the quality of service I received and believe that both the staff and the dentist need to improve their professionalism and patient care. read more

this dentist doesn't protect my medical records and despite several requests for my medical records to be taken care of no communication whatsoever has happened- it's one thing to have a bad employee it's another thing to protect the bad actors at the expense of your patients. read more

Staffing has changed. The dental hygienists here used to be fantastic but not so much anymore. I had this one female hygienist who basically implied that I was lying to her about being a non-smoker because I had staining in the back of my teeth. I told her it was probably from coffee but she asked me again if I was a smoker because she didn't believe me. She did a poor job at cleaning my teeth also. When she took my x-rays, she spoke to me like a child. For one of the shots, I told her I couldn't bite all the way down because of the way the bite plate part was pushing against the back of my tongue. Her response was "yes you can." Listen, I'm an adult and I can convey what I can and cannot do. If I tell you I can't, then readjust the bite portion that's in my mouth and don't argue with me. She also made it a point to say that it has been a very long time since I've been to the dentist. I go once a year because I don't have cavities but why did she even need to make a comment about that? And is once a year even a "long" time? Because of her, I will no longer go here after being a patient here for almost 4 years. read more

Was supposed to have 5 teeth pulled I had had nine teeth pulled without my permission .no pain meds not even Tylenol I couldn't believe it . Mouth full of blood .took one wisdom tooth . Come to find out they had a student dentist pull my teeth without my permission ..they were only supposed to pull 5 teeth I wouldn't go back here if my life depended on it . But they took most of my teeth so I guess I won't be needing them . Horrible people horrible place . read more

I've been goin here for years and never really had a complaint even though the receptionist was always rude. Well my last visit was a month ago where they were suppose to get an authorization for a procedure from my insurance they never submitted it.now my teeth has gotten worse. Went back to the them a week ago they examined my teeth the doctor was very rough grabbing my mouth where the pain was I jumped and said your being too rough she got so angry pushed the examination overhead light and left the room. Then referred me somewhere else. Cant even believe that happened will not be going back. read more

There is one receptionist who is very ignorant and rude when talking to patients. Was nice at first when discussing billing but then was very demeaning. I told her I would handle it but she kept on talking to me like I was her child!!! read more

Make sure you ask about the cost with that FAT WOMAN at the reception room BEFORE you do anything there because she would deny everything other staff told you in a very rude manner AFTER you complete your visit to rip you off. She should be fired. She alone lowered the quality of the entire service. More than one of their staff members told me BEFORE the service that I could use the New Patient Offer, and AFTER the service that fat lady simply refused to honor the coupon saying that the other staff members were misinforming me. As a service provider, it is YOUR FAULT not to train your staff properly and give your patients accurate information. I asked for the price and got confirmed from your staff members, and that was why I chose your service. If you simply denied it after the service and charged me almost four times more, that's a SCAM. First of all, your fine print of the coupon doesn't say that the patient must not have an insurance to use your New Patient Offer. The fine print only says "Limit one coupon per patient. Coupon must be presented at the time of checkout to redeem. Cannot be combined with any other offers." Secondly, after I provided all my information to you correctly (that I have an insurance; that I had a 5-minute visit last year for a second opinion but I didn't do any new patient's x-ray or exam at your place), your staff insisted that I must do a new patient x-ray and exam to set up a dental record and and told me more than once that I could use the $59 New Patient Offer BEFORE THE SERVICE. So my decision of using your service was based on the information you gave me. You cannot simply deny all the information you gave me AFTER THE SERVICE and charge me 4 times more than the said price. If I couldn't trust the information you give me, how would I be able to trust your service? read more

I have to say Quincy Dental is by far the most questionable dentist office I have ever set foot in. I was seen by Mary Anne Thomas several times and had a negative experience with each encounter. I initially and with each encounter, thought I was overreacting, but in retrospect I was not. First, they run late constantly. Second, Dr. Thomas struggles with hearing and respecting the patient's wishes. I asked for more Novocaine before a filling because my mouth was not numb enough and she drilled anyway and I had to yell before she finally agreed to give me more. Thirdly, and the worst part, was that she gave me a silver filling when I specifically asked for a white filling then was dishonest and told me "you asked for that". So, apparently, she just does whatever she wants. The experiences I had were horrible for someone who has terrible anxiety concerning dentists. I would highly recommend finding somewhere else to go and not waste you time here. On a lighter note, the dental hygienists were super friendly and nice. read more

Very friendly staff and ever so helpful answering questions. I am a new patient and am looking forward to coming for my next appointment. My friend referred me to this place and I am glad she did. I am hoping all my future experiences will be the same. The staff did tell me there is another dental office under the same name that bears no affiliation with this clinic. (I am assuming this is way the rating is so low because otherwise I cannot believe the low score). Also, private parking, a definite plus in Quincy where there is only ever street parking. read more

I haven't been to the dentist in a long time and I especially haven't seen Dr. Thomas in a long time. The last time I came here, I had called about an infected, impacted wisdom tooth(I wanted to die). I said it was an emergency and I was in severe pain and she had me come in right away. She looked, gave me a medication for the infection and referred me to an oral surgeon. I'm surprised by all the terrible reviews but again I haven't been here in a long time. Sad to see people having issues. read more

I just moved to the area and went in for a routine check-up. I was told, after having 1 cavity my entire life, to being told I need a crown (which she charges $1000 for and my plan will cover half) and 8 fillings. I went back for 2 fillings, which I paid $55 for at the appointment. I received a second bill in the mail for an additional 58 dollars. I called to question it and I was told that the $55 was only an estimate, and since I went in on a Saturday, they had no way to know what the actual price would be. I asked her if their "estimate" was usually off by that much. I'm getting a copy of the x rays they took (which of course will cost me 25$) and getting a second opinion. In short, SCAM. read more

My girlfriend made an appointment 3 weeks ago to have a tooth pulled .the doctor only works every other Friday morning. So after waiting at least a month for an appointment they just called her and canceled I really hope she doesn't have an infection people can die from that. That was very unprofessional of them. Not to mention she is a teacher and it is very hard to take a day off they have to get a substitute teacher and take several other steps to make it happen. We will not be going to QUINCY DENTAL EVER AGAIN! read more

Horrible, very unprofessional, thanks for wasting my time and money..

I highly recommend Dr Thomas for the following reasons: 1- Integrity : You will Not be told that you need services that aren't absolutely required to ensure your welbeing ! 2- Being terrified of drills, her tools are the latest and gets it done in a fraction of the time, and her assistant Vivian is so caring she will also help you get over the fear... 3- she accepts most insurances. 4- the hygienist is attentive, gentle and caring -will not rip your gums apart as done in some other practices to make you incur oral surgery expenses. 5-unlike many practices Dr Thomas has this practice for over 2 decades always updated with the latest available technology so that all is done for you to keep your own teeth!!! I am willing to travel any distance for the peace of mind she brings to me and my family where dental care is concerned! Sent via voice read more

Avoid this dental outfit. There is no consistency between the dentists working there or the billing process. If you decide to go, make sure you get an experienced dentist - even then, do so at your own risk. First off, I had to have a crown replaced that they initially put in a few years prior. I wouldn't post blame on them for it falling out, but it took over 4 months to have it replaced. First impression of the new crown did not fit. Took another impression. 2nd impression did not fit. After trying to cancel the process and take my business elsewhere, the main dentist came in and reshaped it forcing it into my mouth. Now food constantly gets stuck in between the crown and my teeth. If the main dentist either couldn't recognize that the crown did not fit properly or did a shoddy job of fitting it, then I could never recommend going here. I will give them credit for taking off a little of the cost for the hassle, but what was taken off wasn't worth the aggravation. In addition to the above, I also had cavitities filled. I was asked to pay up front for the work being done to 4 teeth. Cost was approximately $150 out of pocket for the 4 teeth. Typically I would not have paid up front, but it was the end of the day and didn't think anything negative could come from paying prior to the work being completed. The dentist came in (different from the two that worked on my crown), and told me she had to leave by 5:30 and could only fit in two fillings. I will say that she was the only dentist in the office that gave me any faith in her analysis and work; she was honest, up front and appeared to know what she was doing. Since only two were done, this left me with a credit of two cavities to be filled in the future. Not ideal, but not the end of the world. Now, a few weeks later I get a notice in the mail saying that I owe $50. Never had the 2nd set of fillings done; $50 on top of the $150 that that they charged me for 4 fillings. When calling to ask why this was, the only answer I could get was that 'my insurance didn't pay the full bill'. I hadn't had any work done this year, crown work went on the prior year, so whatever my insurance typically pays is what they would have received. So, they either grossly underestimated what my portion of the bill was or they overcharged me. I asked them to send me an explanation in the mail, which they agreed to and never received it. To avoid this going to collections, I paid it and will never go back there again. I highly recommend avoiding this dentist due to the inconsistency of the dentists working there and uncertainty in the billing process. In my entire adult life, I've never been billed for an additional amount after having paid for the work to be completed (nor have I ever been billed up front). I'm giving this two stars out of respect for the 3rd dentist that I saw. If it wasn't for her, I woudn't give it any stars. Hopefully she finds another outfit to work at. read more

Not a good experience at all. Didn't do things correctly and always issues. Glad I got a 2nd Opinion because they wanted to drill a cavity that another dentist said was completely unnecessary. Will not be going back. read more

I had a severe toothache, and it was on a Saturday afternoon, I started making calls, and Quincy Dental was the one I felt, that these people care for their patients. They told me to come right away, and they'll take me in. I was so happy, the fact, it's Saturday and I don't have to wait until Monday or even after, like other dentists that I called told me. Quincy Dental doctors are very professional and most importantly they care about their patients. They did a great job, and their price was more than fair. When I go there, I don't feel that I'm going to a dentist, it's like I'm visiting my family. read more

Very friendly office, from the front office staff, to the dental hygienist, to Dr. Thomas. I came here and had the new patient "special," which includes cleaning, x-ray and exam. I am sad to report that this place is quite unprofessional on many levels . I went in there a few weeks ago to have my loose crown situation looked at. I was a potential new patient. The dentist came in, didn't even introduce herself ...!! Next they told me that I would need a bridge or an implant approximately $3000-$4000 worth of work . I did not agree to that . They wouldn't even try to cement in the crown I have. My regular dentist was able to build a new post and took care of it for virtually no cost . This place sucks ..keep looking for a honest place of business !!!!! read more

Horrible. These people are money hungry and care very little about your situation at all. One of the receptionist at the front desk is miserable the other is ok. I had an appointment scheduled for a very expensive procedure and was called into work during a snowstorm. I was not able to give these money hungry, rude people a notice so they charged me a 50$ fee. I begged them to remove the fee since I have referred 2 people to them as well as my wife. Not to mention have given them plenty of money from work previously done. Course they would not do it. They have continued to be rude and stuck up I have told the people I referred and they as well as myself are choosing a more friendly and family oriented environment.. DO NOT GO TO QUINCY DENTAL THEY HONESTLY COULD CARE LESS ABOUT YOU. read more

Does your dentist diligently send you appointment reminders and CLOSE the office when you show up? This one sure does. I received multiple email & text reminders for my upcoming appointment in the months leading up to my appointment. I confirmed my appointment and showed up 10 minutes early. When I got there the door was locked and there was NO SIGN indicating that they were closed. I even walked next door to the law office to see if they knew if something came up but they were unaware. I called the phone number right away and was hoping to get a hold of someone but it went straight to voicemail. I left a voicemail saying that I was there for my appointment and no one was at the office. I figured I'd give them the benefit of the doubt that perhaps something came up and waited 10 minutes past my appointment time to see if someone shows up. And now THREE WEEKS LATER I still have not heard a peep from this place - not an apology or an explanation. The least they could do was call me back and let me know what happened or even ask if I want to reschedule (not that I would ever go back to this place). Go somewhere else where you are treated professionally. read more

Take the advice of some others on here..run..don't walk...as fast as you can away from Quincy Dental. My experience: I took advantage of their new patient offer. First appointment the hygenist didn't show up. After waiting 45 minutes, I was told she would be awhile longer, so I made a new appointment. Showed up the second time. The building was locked and no one could get in. My appointment was canceled in the parking lot after waiting another half hour. Third try. I am called the day before. They are canceling my appointment because the hygenist will be out. Fourth try, I finally get in. Except after the cleaning and xrays are done I am told I have at least 6 old fillings that need to be replaced. I take care of my teeth and have never had more than 1 or 2 old fillings that needed replacing at a time. Against mmy better judgment I show up for an appointment to have the first one replaced. The building is locked again. I sit in a snow/rain storm in the parking lot for 30 minutes. When someone finally unlocks the door, I follow them into the office to be told the dentist won't be in for 1-2 hours. She is running late. I am now running to a new dentist. 5 appointments and one time being actually seen. Not my idea of an efficiently run operation. If they are that poor in scheduling their appointments, I can only imagine the quality of the work being done there. Save your time and money and find someone else who actually cares enough to show up for your appointments read more
