We were very excited to find a dental place that was convenient in Quincy and scheduled appt for family. Front desk was responsive and nice. Unfortunately, after a good first scheduling experience, nothing else has been good. Called at least 3 times after the appointment to check on status and follow up, no returned calls. Finally on the 4th call, front desk picked up and told me that the appointment never happened. Dentist was late for over 30mins, this was just for reg cleaning, and family had to leave. No one called to give us an update or even try to reschedule. Very disappointed in the lack of service and probably the last time we'll deal with this place. DO NOT COME HERE!! Especially if you need extensive work done on your teeth. They pulled five teeth from my mouth two of those teeth were the wrong teeth, and I still haven't regained feeling in my bottom lip since having a simple extraction done and it was about a month ago. My next appointments keep getting pushed out and pushed out and in the meantime, I'm walking around with no teeth and in pain The general "Dentist" who does primarily all the distractions seems to be the issue here! I read awful reviews and I was confused due to the totally different experience I had. Then I had 5 teeth removed. That's when I experienced what it was these awful reviews were talking about. Originally I had a 5 star rating for this office. The girls at the front are extremely nice and understanding. I made an emergency appointment on Sunday. I had a broken tooth that was causing me a lot of pain. I met with Dr. Abe and he was great! I have other work that needs to be done, but it's hard finding a dentist to trust. He said all the right things and I left very hopeful. I come in on Wednesday and it was like a bait and switch. I do not know the name of the doctor who did the extractions. I had five teeth pulled not one being the tooth I made the appointment for! He had an intern with him he was talking about me like I was not there. I'm already self conscious and he's making noises and comments about my teeth. He then let her know I was a MassHealth patient and he'll explain later but mass health patients are often different than patients with private coverage. He went on to say people like me with MassHealth will come in and once the tooth is removed we don't come back and keep up with follow ups and additional work. I was so embarrassed. Once he removed the 5 teeth I was NOT given any kind of instructions to Care for the stitches and opened wounds in my mouth. Usually I'm told not to use a straw no smoking given some extra gauze. NOTHING. He sprayed bloody water all over me didn't acknowledge it. He cleaned himself off and it was the intern who asked me if I would like a napkin. It wasn't a little spray when I left an hour later my hair was still wet! I tried to schedule a follow up but the doctor left no notes about what my next appointment will be. The receptionist is so sweet, she offered me a napkin to clean myself off and directed me to the restroom. I didn't realize it but there was blood still all over my face. Maybe MassHealth patients would come back to follow up if you weren't a complete jerk! The doctor was young and may be the nicest kid on earth but he needs to practice bedside manner. I had every intention on having all work that needed to be done which is 100% covered by my MassHealth. Not sure now. If I could be treated like a human being regardless of my insurance. Lux Dental is pretty much a scam. Absolutely, DO NOT GO HERE. If you read through all of the other reviews, you'll notice a trend. They overcharge, they do not provide you with proper care, their administration/billing/front office management is a circus. They have zero consideration for their patient's time and health. 6 years ago, I got my invisalign done by them. They said that the cost was going to be $4400. I paid $2200 and insurance was supposed to cover the rest. Come to find out years later, they were only billing my insurance company $44 a month, and not the total amount. I didn't know this, so when I left my company, I changed dental insurance and got stuck with an $1896 bill. Lux Dental said that I was supposed to be taking care of the payment now because I left the insurance and they can on longer bill the original insurance. I tried to figure out what I was supposed to do because this seems absolutely unfair. In the meantime. I receive a letter in the mail from TSI collections agency with all of Lux Dental's information on it, and my information on it with the same exact amount that was owed. Figured ok, this is a big deal, let me pay off this collections notice. Then a week later, I get a call from Lux Dental saying I still owe them the $1800. I'm completely in shock telling them that I paid the collections agency. Lux Dental confirms that they do work with TSI, but it seems like I've been scammed, and now I still owe Lux Dental $1800. At this point, I'm really stressed out because I just paid that much, trying to work with my bank to get that money back, and Lux Dental is hounding me. Super stressed and annoyed at this point, I pay off Lux Dental and square out my account. Being in tech, I'm really curious to know how some "fake" collections agency got all of my information. Either Lux Dental sold it to them, or their systems have been hacked. Alternative theory is that Lux Dental has a scam "collections" account and tries to get double payment from their patients. If that's the case - WOW. Either way, they're completely in the wrong here because I tried to work with their admin/billing team for years to try to get this resolved before I got scammed and they were never officially able to give me the right answer. They took my honesty and integrity for granted and I'll never forgive their office for that. Now, they're trying to scam my husband. My husband is going to a new office, hasn't been to Lux Dental in two years. Before he left their office, he squared up all accounts with them, paid the $500 they said was owed and done. For the last three days, he has been trying to get his medical records sent to the dentist's office. They said they would send him a form. They never sent it. Then he calls back the second day asking for the form, and they send it and say they will only send his x-rays. He needs ALL of his reports sent to the new dentist and they said they have a process. They send the x-rays, and then the rest of the reports after he signs a second form. Which doesn't make any sense and he's getting upset - as would anyone. He requests that they just send everything at once. They say they're going to call him back. They call him back and say he suddenly owes $1600 and they can't send the reports and x-rays until he pays that amount. This is illegal in the same of MA. We haven't received one invoice for this amount. he hasn't had work done in almost 2 years, so where did this number come from? They don't even have a reason/details on what this cost is for, but suddenly he has a huge bill to pay and they're holding his records hostage. They're saying they've been sending invoices to a home address that we haven't lived in over 5 years. They're hearing from our lawyer and a news crew soon. How could one dentist office have so many bad reviews and billing issues? Sounds fishy to me and I'm sure hundreds of innocent patients are being scammed as I write this. The office itself needs a good thorough cleaning The floors had spill stains and the dental chair and machinery were not thoroughly cleaned. Came in to have 2 teeth extracted. They go to numb the area and have me bite down and wait a few minutes which was actually seconds The swab is mostly touching my lip but also some of the front gum Dentist comes back into room and as he's pulling swab out he starts to shoot novacane into the back of my gums. The pain was horrific and I immediately try to move away but he continues to try and push needle in. I had to physical push him away meanwhile he is trying to sooth me and calls me honey and babes. WTF? I explain that wasn't cool you didn't even ask me if I was numb or tell me you were about to do that. I explained that even the front part still had some feeling He pats a swab to numb the area and tells me he is about to give me more novacane It was still painful but I was able to make it thru it. He hasn't asked me if I could feel anything and doesn't test if I can. He begins to try and extract the first tooth and he's so rough and the pain is too much I had to wiggle myself so that he had to stop. He ask assistant to get pliers and was able to pull the tooth. At this point I've never felt so much pain from an extraction in my life and I tell him he has to stop I'm in way too much pain and it felt like there was barely any numbing. I decline having the second tooth pulled. They hand me a package of gauze and tell me to keep gauze in for 30 min and send me off with no paperwork on how to care for things just a prescription for ibuprofen. I'm absolutely horrified at how this dental practice treated me. The dentist was incompetent and very unprofessional The fact that he was calling me honey and babe was disrespectful and unacceptable. The fact that he was so rushed as to not even ask me if my mouth was numb or to check himself was horrible and showed no consideration of me as a patient. DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE!! read more

This is the worst dental place ever. The orthodontist refused to take off my son's braces, and he's had them on for 5 1/2 years with little to no progress. She wanted to have me sign a waver stating that she isn't responsible for issues with my sons teeth, but she has seen my son every 4-6 weeks and didn't help his teeth at all. I've never had an experience like this at a dental office ever before and by reading the comments I can see I'm not the only one . These people are literally money hungry thieves. I called Sunday afternoon for an emergency visit as I had chipped off a piece of my bonding from my composite veneer. When I called, i ask the receptionist, if that was something they could offer and what would be the price range, she told me that the fixing of the tooth would be around $250 and that I would have to pay $175 for an emergency visit along with an x-ray I told her I would call back because that was a little higher than I wanted to pay as I have fixed the same tooth a couple times, and that it was going to be more than what I usually spend. She said she would wave the x-ray so that left me to pay $130 extra for their emergency visit plus around $250 for them to fix the composite veneer, so I agreed, since I was trying to get it fixed as it was a Sunday, but even with the x-ray waived, It was still more expensive than what I'm used to paying for the same chip on the same tooth. I also told them I just needed something that was going to last me a few weeks until I redo my entire teeth for porcelain veneers. The girl at the front desk was very nice but I feel like I was lured in by kindness so they can rob me . I told them that I had birthday to go to the next day, so I think they took that to their advantage to think that I was desperate to fix it, and that I would pay anything. I arrived to the office at 5:37. They put me in the room around 6 o'clock. The front girl Desk came into the room and asked me to go back to the front so I can pay the emergency fee of $130 right at that moment , mind you I wasn't even seen by the dentist yet , I agreed to pay the $130 not thinking anything of it , but clearly there was a reason why she wanted me to pay right there and then, because they knew that the price that they were about to give me was going to be something that I would never agree to paying, especially when I was told a whole different amount over the phone. So paid $130 for a visit that no service was provided . So when I am back in the room after paying the $130 The doctor comes in to talk to me about the teeth I told him what the situation was and then he went into bragging about how he specializes in cosmetic dentistry and then decided to put his input in to tell me of how much of a "shitty"job, the Teeth were, and how they shouldn't have placed the composite on top of crown that I have under the tooth that I continue to chip , I told him that I was aware that they shouldn't have put the composite on top of the crown, and that I understand and have an appointment to replace the crown itself along with the rest of the teeth to porcelain veneers, and I totally understood that him fixing It would probably only be temporary because I'm aware it will probably chip again. He tells me he doesn't see why I am going to change out the rest of my teeth because they were fine and why wouldn't I just replace the crown, mind you didn't he just tell me that they were shitty ? So Fast forward to when he finally shuts up with all of his opinions about my teeth. He then tells me that he does not have my color as the color of my veneers are whiter than what he has at the office, as they should've already known that since from the beginning from when I walked in the assistant seen what color my Teeth were. He then says he will show me the color he has and to decide if that is going to work for me or not when he comes back into the room, he shows me the color and it was totally off , I said yeah that is pretty off and that it was not going to work for me. I had the piece of my veneer that had chipped off that I came in with so I said well in that case could he just re-bond the piece that chipped off onto the tooth as a temporary fix until I fix all my teeth in two weeks it . He said OK and that he was going to get me the price of what it was going to be to stick the piece back onto my tooth. So honestly for them to stick the piece back onto my tooth should be cheaper than it was to re-composite the tooth itself correct? This man came back into the room with a quote for around $550 to stick a piece of composite back onto my tooth. I don't know if they thought that I was stupid or that desperate to think I was going to pay that ridiculous amount for them to just re-glue a piece of the composite that fell off , I got up from that chair so fast and said, give me my stuff back and I'm out of here you guys just wasted my time and I just paid $130 and I would like a refund as you guys have not done anything to me they then told me that they cannot refund me. The way that he was talking to me and the way that I was treated. I am highly offended and felt like he was insulting my intelligence in every manner. These people are scam artist. read more

I went in here for an emergency visit on August 5th. After x rays the dentist came in and dropped a dental mirror on the tooth that was causing me pain. He let it go and it dropped off my front tooth. Immediately after this I lost total faith in the abilities of the dentist. I asked in the lobby for my money back, and the receptionist told me to call the next day and speak with the manager. After about 5 calls I got no call back from the manager. I have had a few "basic" teeth cleaning at this location. On my first visit, I wasn't very pleased with the whole experience. But, I decided to give them a second chance. I had another visit a few weeks ago. I can't recall the name of the doctor, but certainty was a much better experience, WAY better than the first time! Last time, while there, I totally missed asking my Dr. for a prescription for a medication (cold sore). I'm having a really bad burning on my lip for the last few hours so, I stopped by today, 3/29/2018 and I asked the front desk person if it was possible to get a prescription, since I was just there recently. I was told that I needed to pay for the visit. $95!? Are you serious!? I said no, thanks and left. To all who are reading this honest review, BE CAREFUL, do yourself a favor and have your teeth clean someplace else. I will never put a foot here in the future, never again! This dentist office is an absolute madhouse. My first visit to here I was having 2 teeth prepped to get caps on them. In one already had a root canal. The other one up didn't while filing my teeth down the instrument broke and started squirting water all over the place but the dentist still continue to do the procedure. I had water in my eyes and my ears going down the front of my shirt there was water on the floor. He was losing his footing. The assistant kept telling him to stop, but he refused and kept saying I got it. I got it. that came to an end, and they took the mold. I walked out of there, shaking my head, but at this point, I'm in it up to my eyeballs, so I had to go back to finish it. I thought what could go wrong they're just gonna put the caps on and then send me on my way, but boy was I wrong. I went back in to get the caps put on which should've been a simple procedure. They applied the cement and slipped on the caps. Told me to wait so I waited. They said you should be good I said I don't think I'm good. This doesn't feel right. The dentist said you just have to get used to it. I said no this doesn't feel right there's something wrong and wouldn't you know it just during the conversation both caps fell out he said he reinserted them and said to wait another 20 minutes and he'll be back he didn't return for an hour. I started asking the assistant what was going on. She said all he double booked. He's with another patient. Oh he double booked good for him so I have to wait now? And I waited another 45 minutes he still didn't return. The caps were still wiggling around in my head the assistant took it upon herself to try to cement them in correctly. I waited the a lot of time and they still didnt adhere. I walked into the hallway where everybody could hear me and I said excuse me I'm gonna leave now. I've waited. All I can wait. Are you gonna see me or not? The assistant said the dentist said that he'll be right with you he just needs a little more time I said nope times up I spit the caps in my hand, which still didn't bond and I walked out the door. I Owego so later I went to book an appointment with another dentist to try to have the caps mounted, but was told by the dentist that they couldn't do it because my insurance company had already paid lux dental for doing the procedure. But the thing is Luts dental didn't do the procedure. He failed at it horribly. They treated me like I was subhuman and they didn't even do their job in the end. To top it all off they fraudulently build my insurance company for completing a procedure they did not complete. I feel no obligation to warn them that I've reported it and that I have voicemails from Lux's staff actually asking me to come back so they can complete this procedure in order to get paid lol! Leave the crime to the criminals Lux Dental. Masshealth Fraud? Stealing from the poor are we? Shame on you. Have some dignity. BEWARE!! Listen to the bad reviews! I went in for a cleaning when I was about to move across country and made it very clear to them that they I only wanted the cleaning that was covered by my insurance given that I was leaving soon after. They wanted to x rays as well and after looking at my insurance they said that the x rays and the cleaning were 100% covered by insurance minus a 20 dollar copay. I agreed to do the x rays and payed my normal copay and left. 6 months later I get a 200$ bill for x rays and an examination. Turns out none of it was covered. However, the doctor in Cambridge (Dr.Abbas, who isnt even listed on their website) was the most disrespectful dentist Ive ever had, she was rude about my teeth and clearly was mad she had to be doing this at all. Mainly because of the rude and horrible receptionists, first impressions plays a big role on wether a client will try out a dentist office (most people seek welcoming and friendly receptionists) and this place lacks that therefore i cannot get myself to easily book appointments past the rude receptionists. Every time i call to make an appointment i am thrown off by the way they talk and carry themselves, people generally who have to come to the dentist office are already in a bad mood or at least unpleasant and speaking to these receptionists makes things even worse and frustrating. They took some X-rays (the guy was so busy flirting with cute assistant, that he screwed up shots repeatedly) and the nice doctor lady said I had a cavity on my RIGHT (where nothing ever hurt and I've never had any problems, go fig) But whatever, she has the degree and knows what she's talking about (or so I hope) - we schedule for a cavity filling Come in next time, I get the usual shots and she starts to drill. Halfway through this she tells me I have not one but two cavities in this tooth now. Proceeds to drill the hell out of it on both sides. Fills with that metal stuff (to me it felt like boiling lead at the time) and finishes it up. I came back a week later complaining of that tooth hurting like a bitch but she said "some sensitivity for a week or two is ok, it'll get better" Its been two month now - that poor tooth, that never had issues before she decided to drill it? They maxed my insurance on CLEANING by JULY! They were putting "orthodontic maintenance" for what was a 20-min cleaning. They told me as well as my boyfriend that we both needed cleaning every 3 months because we had serious gum problems. After we moved and changed dentists, no other dentist confirm that diagnosis. I came into Lux dental for the first time after not seeing a dentist in about 3 years. I expected they would tell me i needed a deep cleaning on some of my teeth but i didnt expect it to take 4 visits to deep clean 5 teeth. First off, the dentist i used told me after my last visit that she was still in training or school or something. So she had little experience and was not being supervised, great. Second, I was told that i needed a deep cleaning but when i came back the next day, after having a regular cleaning, she had a hard time finding the teeth that needed the deep cleaning. Which lead me to believe that maybe i didn't need the deep cleaning after all. Third, she couldn't numb me correctly, she ended up numbing the entire right side of my face but couldn't numb the one spot she was working on. Eventually i just told her i would take the pain, in fear that i might OD on Novocaine. Lastly, their equipment is not as up to date as it should be. they don't even have the little spit sink. The pro's about this place is that they have cool flat screens and show you before and after, they are cheap (even though they make you come back 1000000 times), and they get the job done... eventually... but they always want to reschedule you. read more

This place exudes greed in every room. I had no issues particularly with the quality of the service and I am sure these are very well trained professionals. Why? Because they make a ton of money and they will do everything in their power to extract the most out of you as possible. My complaint comes from the salesly attitude in the office, always trying to sell you another operation, another teeth cleaning, starting in the office and ending in the dentist's chair. It makes you wonder if you are getting your teeth fixed in a furniture store filled with salespeople. But the main problem which prompted me to writing this lengthy review is what I see as a clear violation of basic business ethics. There was a change in my work insurance, which had certain ramifications for this particular office. In other words, I believe I wasn't fully covered. Does that mean the dentist notifies me to let me know of the financial consequences of such change and promptly keeps me aware of the costs in future visits? Of course not! They don't say a thing until they decide to send me a multiple hundred dollar bill for teeth cleaning. And do you know what happens if you call the number in the bill for "billing questions?", which they probably get all the time? Straight to voicemail. And they tell you to leave your information so they can call you back and they never do! I'm sure because they are swamped with other unhappy customers like me. There is another dentist less than a mile to go to. There is zero reason to come to this dentist when there is so much good and more transparent competition out there. I have been visiting this office for many years (I can not even remember how many, maybe ten?). I have always had a positive experience. My dentists have always been Dr. Abe and Dr Le. Both are great. I have always felt that I was well advised. Never felt pressured or with the impression that they were taking advantage. On the contrary, when something is not necessary or urgent, they try to avoid making you incur into more expenses. I have never been urged to pay the whole price at once for something that was too expensive for me. They are very clear in advanced about the costs of a procedure before you go ahead or hold it. The atmosphere in the office is friendly, very kind. One feels that they care about the patients. The main reason why I like Lux Dental is because I trust them. read more

Definitely this place is the worst customer service ever. The manager should learn how to respect people time. The receptionists should have to retrain how to communicate with customers. I rarely write bad reviews to any business but this place I have to give them only 1 star. read more

I have gone to this dentist office for the last two or so years. Doctor Abdul (this is an abbreviation for a very long name) is a super nice person and a good dentist. He has been very patient with me and communicates what is going on with your mouth very well and in a manner which makes you feel very comforted. I have seen another dentist in this office when doctor Abdul was away and was displeased with him. He did not seem to care for my needs as an individual and ultimately recommended that I go back in and see my regular dentist when he returned back into town. (He was away with a family emergency) The staff in the office is friendly and helpful. I do not like having my teeth worked on and they seem to speak to me in a manner that is caring and lite-hearted. The atmosphere in the office is ok.... its a little out in the open when your getting worked on.... not as private as it could be. But it is very clean. There prices are reasonable if you do not have dental insurance & there ability to get you an appointment in a reasonable amount of time is great. Doctor Abdul & the receptionists get 5 stars The dental assistants & atmosphere get 4 stars The dentist which remains nameless gets 1 star read more

I'm giving 1 star because I'm leaving before even becoming a patient here and I feel obliged to write this review while I'm at work on a Monday..In light of that, this review obviously doesn't reflect the quality of dentistry performed here. Story: So I tried setting up a new patient appointment in Quincy and had to reschedule it (my fault). I thought all was well until I received a phone call to confirm my appointment, from another location entirely. I'm not sure why they would relocate my appointment to Cambridge, but I called again to both offices, clarified I wanted the appointment in Quincy (the office across the street from where I lived). All seemed well until I called to confirm the appointment mere hours before and found out that once again they assigned me to the Cambridge lux dental office again! and I had no appointment in Quincy. So while trying to tell them I have nothing to do with Cambridge lux dental and I want an appointment in Quincy because I live right across the street from the Quincy office, they chose to be rude over the phone and tell me that I am confusing them by calling the Quincy office trying to set up appointments in Cambridge. Again no! Jeez How does the Cambridge office keep getting involved! Take away: So anyways, 1 star. I'm chalking it up to bad customer service, bad communication (possibly due to a language barrier) and now 2 fewer patients. Bc my girlfriend and I are going elsewhere. We needed a dentist on a Sunday because my daughter had a terrible toothache. Lux Dental in Quincy was the only one we could find on the South Shore that was open on Sunday, and that's about the only good thing I can say about this place. We went there, they made an x-ray and after a short examination concluded it was her wisdom tooth. They referred us to an oral surgeon for the extraction. The next day we went to the oral surgeon, turns out it wasn't the wisdom tooth, she needed a root canal on another molar. Just wasted two hours of my Sunday and paid $121 to Lux Dental for the wrong diagnosis. The people were nice enough, but I'd rather have them give the right diagnosis. read more

I recently was seen for a cracked tooth. was told that it needed to be extracted and an implant put in inits place. I was quoted a price of $2,800 to $3,000.00. I put a $200 deposit down for the procedure and when i returned to have it done, the cost had grown outrageously to $5,400. Refusing to accept this, LUX Dental tried to lower the price for me but could only get it down to $3,500.. STILL OUTRAGEOUS.. I instead opted to have the tooth extracted and in return was CHARGED AN ADDITIONAL $206.00. SO, basically, I was CHARGED $406 (FOUR HUNDRED SIX DOLLARS) to have the tooth removed... WITH DENTAL INSURANCE!!!! This place is full of CROOKS.. I wouldn't recommend this place to my WORST ENEMY.. I always thought doctors would rob you blind, but the dentists and assistants at LUX DENTAL are the worst in the business.. read more
