DAD & GIRLS NEW ICE CREAM PLACE ADVENTURE!!!…read more Wanted some ice cream on a Sunday and most places close early. We found Asian Bowl open and we found they had more than just Ice cream!!! We stuck with Ice cream and they had Boba drinks so of course they had to try that as well. Food to Value Ratio: OK, I paid 17$ for 1 scoop on 1 cone x2 and a Boba drink. This is normal rates now, but the ice cream scoop was a bit on the small side for the price. The Ambiance was nice a bit basic in the sense of nothing really stood out as WOW. Check out the pics, some anime pics, a couple boba posters and a photo spot. The pink benches were comfortable. The ice cream was good, but pretty much like any other ice cream spot around that's not a Dairy Queen, definitely better than Dairy Queen!!! The boba tea was good and the boba was not stale as some other places around the area. Service was ok, the young man was not very engaging and his customer service smile/happiness needs improvement, but it wasn't bad, just could have been allot better!!! We would go back to try some other things they had and I will follow up with future reviews if we do so. AS ALWAYS TRY IT FOR YOURSELF!!!

Edamame is available as a good protein substitute, though it would be nice if tofu was an option. Nori (seaweed) was an option for seasoning, but I was given Bonito flakes which are made from fish instead. I don't eat fish, so I had to scrape it off when I got home. I ordered a taro milk tea with crystal boba which was delicious and had a thick, creamy texture. The food is made in a kitchen in the back, and the beverages and ice cream desserts are made behind the counter. There was only one employee working the restaurant, and she was great. There is plenty of seating inside and a big screen tv playing Dragon Ball Z.

Whisk the Sweet Bakeshop is a mixed bag for me. I love the service and the espresso is decent, but…read morethey dont have regular coffee. They can make an americano (two shots of espresso and hot water). But NO real brewed COFFEE. This is my second time here. The first time I got espresso and they gave me a complimentary short bread cookie which was quite good. This time I sat at the bar area and watched the cook. I also ordered food. Watching the cook I noticed they pre-make their pancakes and then nuke them. The same for the french toast. Any time you see a microwave in a restaurant you should be concerned. And this is going to sound super judgemental, but I have to take away a star just for the microwave. And I didn't order the pancakes or the french toast, so who knows how they tasted. I stayed long enough to watch him make pancakes, so I guess he pre-made some for the rush. Same for the frech toast. The place doesn't have a hood vent so I can see why he wouldn't want to make a bunch on the spot with customers around, because the smoke was starting to fill up the place. I had a double espresso on this visit as well. And got that super good short bread cookie again. I am not a big sweet eater, but those little cookies are addictive. My food order was an egg whisk with ham. It comes with bread, but I opted out of that. They were really slammed with customers and to go orders so I waited quite a while for my food. Honestly it was worth the wait. Also got to watch the cook and he was doing a really good job of pumping the food out and it all looked delicious. So there is that. The set up is more like something you would have in your kitchen at home. Some of those sandwiches had great eye appeal. I am sure they were good because didn't see anyone sending anything back. And it was really enjoyable watching the cook hustle.

This bakery has just opened…read moreso I decided to stop in for a coffee, but decided to try something sweet after looking at the display case. Thats when the owner told me she had pastries that just came out of the oven. She had 3 options that were baked fresh, but my ears turned off after hearing guava and cheese (its my favorite). The pastries were sold at a good price of $3 for one or 2 for $5. So I decided on one of the alfajores as well. Alfajores can be a hit or miss for me, but I loved this one. The cookie had a complex and buttery flavor as well as a proper shortbread texture. There was a rose like essence that balanced the flavors. She's very talented. She offers espresso, cappuccinos, and americano coffee drinks for now. She plans to expand the coffee menu in the future, so I look forward to seeing her business grow. I ordered a cappuccino, and she had regular milk as well as plant based/vegan milk options. Everything I had was delicious and comforting. This is an excellent latin cafe and a necessary business in Winter Haven, I look forward to coming back.

They also have some of their own Nature's Own items that I have never seen in a local store. As for the snack cakes, they have them in a variety of prices, in boxes and singles. I like to surprise my husband with a treat of a single one when I get home from here. Makes him feel like a kid again, when his mom would go and bring him home one.
