We had decided to remodel our two bathrooms after more than 40 years and replace a tub with a…read morewalk-in shower. A visit to Kitchen and Bath (kiba) Studio in Clifton Park introduced us to Jane, Project Coordinator, and Cody, designer. The initial sit down with them allowed us to describe what we were looking to accomplish and listen to ideas they put forth that would meet our objectives. We felt comfortable enough with this initial interaction to proceed to the next step, a visit by Jane to our home to see the bathrooms. With all parties feeling enthusiastic about proceeding, we began to identify choices of tiles for walls, floors, and walk-in showers, cabinets, sinks, and fixtures. Much of this chore was eased through the assistance of Jane and Cody having extensive samples available in their showroom for comparing and matching. Cody's use of computer design software allowed us to better visualize what a finished product would look like. Jane identified which of her subcontractors she believed would be best to accomplish our project and the lead time that would be necessary before product and subcontractor would be available. With all of this acceptable to us we entered into a contract. While we continued to identify and purchase the single item that was not included in the contract, light fixtures, Jane kept us apprised of the anticipated start date. Everything went along on schedule and Jane repeatedly came to our house during construction to check on progress and address any issues. Yes, bumps in the road did occur, e.g., a cabinet arrived damaged and had to be reordered, but Jane and kiba were there to support and reassure us along the way. The subcontractor identified by Jane, Dream Builders and Remodeling, was outstanding. Likewise, the shower door company she suggested, Upstate Showers, had exactly what we were looking for and performed meticulously with their installation. Overall, our experience with Kitchen and Bath Studio in Clifton Park was successful and well worth recommending.

This store did, and when I talked to an employee here I was told it was an "optional" item to carry. I ordered it online, and when I arrived they couldn't find my order. How do you lose 140 pounds of sand? Anyway, they finally found it and I was on my way. Of note: this location is on a hill, and it is bracketed by two roads. The eastern-most one isn't actually an entrance and will lead to a dead end. You must enter from the western-most road. Also, there was a huge pothole in the driveway, which was disappointing for a store like this.

I went their this year to buy a stain that I have used on my deck for 20 years only this time it had changed. The product was runny and didn't soak in nor did the color match. They should have said that before they sold me the product stain that they gave me.

I live right around the corner from a Sherwin Williams (SW) on Wolf Road and I needed some custom…read morestain matched to existing trim in our bedroom, so after puzzling about it for years I heard a rumor that SW could color-match stain much like most places can color-match paint. I drove round the corner to the local store only to be told that every other SW store can color match stain but the Wolf Road one. So, I came here. Upon arriving, the staff were helpful but they told me that in addition to a piece of the trim they were going to match the stain to, I needed a sample piece of the new raw wood that the stain was going to be applied to. This is to ensure the color will match on the new wood as it does on the old wood. Makes sense, except I didn't have any of the new, raw wood trim on me. So I had to come back the next day. I brought 12" of new trim which they said was fine, and I was told it would take 2-3 days. Five days later, I heard nothing so I called them. I was told the stain was "on the truck" and to call back in a week. I called a week later, and was told it was still on the truck. What this exactly means, I don't know. A week later I called and was told that someone had worked on it, and I could come in and take a look. Unfortunately, their hours made it tough to drop by and I was out that Saturday so it was another week before I could get it. Turns out, the stain matched pretty good with one application, and should be perfect with two applications. I don't think they charged me for the color-match service. And the stain went on great. I thought their custom service left a lot to be desired, as the 2-3 day estimate turned into weeks AND I had to call be the one to initiate the conversation by calling every time. That was annoying. But, I don't know any other place that color-matches stain so if you need it done you need SW. But, it might take weeks for them to match it so plan accordingly.
