Apparently, according to the Benjamin Moore dealer at Miller Paint and Decorating, no house has ever been painted yellow on the outside, because it will fade or require multiple coats so they can't even give me samples of any yellow color for an exterior job. Which is really weird, since the Benjamin Moore website seems to say the exact opposite, even has a color picker for my exterior color. And also because I got yellow colors from three other paint stores/suppliers, meant for exterior paint. But no, I'm probably wrong about this because the dude at the counter said he was darn sorry I just can't paint my house yellow with Benjamin Moore colors. Going to go to another Benjamin Moore dealer shortly to find out whether it's a franchised craziness or just individual lunkheadedness associated with this store, but I shan't bother coming back here, at least not until they invent the color yellow again.

A Hardware Store on Steroids!…read more Our first visit to Hatchet Hardware of Troy was for some plumbing parts. When we first walked in, my thoughts were, 'they're not going to have plumbing parts...' I was totally wrong. This hardware store has it all - everything you expect in a local hardware store and then some. The entry to the store is filled with unique items for your home, trinkets, and gifts. It's a visual delight. Then you get into the heart of the store and there you'll find housewares and small appliances, landscape supplies, light bulbs...the list goes on. They even offer refills of cleaning supplies for environmentally conscious shoppers. Don't forget about upstairs which houses the plumbing supplies amongst other things. What's even better is the staff is friendly and helpful. If you haven't been yet, check it out!

Some things haven't changed... their staff is still extremely friendly and knowledgeable, their prices are about the same as the big box stores, their selection is much less than big box stores (but usually that just means they carry only quality name-brand items and don't have cheaper junk stuff), and the hours are more in line with a mom and pop store. I needed some items and decided that I would try and get here on the way home from work before they closed at 6PM. I made it in time, they helped me select exactly what I needed, and I left happy. If you need 20+ items for a big construction project, lots of lumber, or various types of custom colored paint this might not be the right store. But, if you know you are up against a project you aren't familiar with and want to talk it over with someone before buying the right stuff this is a great place to come.

He made it clear he doesn't want to do the repair work that he's supposed to do when it's under warranty. The next day after dropping off the mower he called and stated there was no oil in the engine and I probably seized the engine. That is not true the mower was brand new and used only last year. The mower was stored in the basement and the gas emptied out. When I took out this year it wouldn't start. So how did the engine seize. STEER CLEAR OF THIS SEXIST MISERABLE PERSON.
