    Tilapia filets

Stopped by here on the way to Houston. (Around 3pm+) . It was quiet, had Tilapia filets with shrimp fries rice , salt pepper shrimp. (Light breading, just enough seasoning!). Food comes out hot! Great portion and great taste on both. And the pricing? Great price for what you will be getting. Would come here again if we ever pass this location. Too bad it's far from home :(

Crawfish fried rice and seafood gumbo

We were passing through on highway and thought we'd get Popeye's. However, we saw this place next door and figured it was much better. The local crowd inside affirmed our belief. The girl at the front counter was courteous and helpful. The food came out in a few minutes and the portions were pretty good sized. The crawfish fried rice had a decent amount of crawfish and tasted good. The seafood gumbo was very tasty. The fried oysters were amazing; so juicy. The fried catfish and the french fries were OK. Overall I would give this 4.5 stars, but given how good some food items were, I'll give it 5. If this place was in Houston, it would be super crowded.

    Bowl of seafood gumbo

This is our first visit here and they just held their grand opening. Our appetizer of choice was the crab ragoons. I've never had these before and wasn't sure how they were suppose to taste. They are cream cheese filled pastries laced with crab meat. I didn't taste the crab meat but they had plenty of cream cheese. I thought this item would be better suited as a dessert. I did like them but I'd prefer less cream cheese. My entree was a bowl of seafood gumbo. I liked the flavor of this dish. It contained small shrimp but there were plenty of them. The rue was light and it had a spicy kick to it. I liked this dish as well. The air conditioner was messed up so they had portable fans to cool the dining room. It was fine at first, but the spiciness Of the gumbo caused me to become uncomfortably hot. Hope they get it fixed soon. My daughter ordered the catfish strips. This came with fries and coleslaw. I really liked her fish. The batter had just the right amount of seasoning. The fish was juicy. I will probably get the catfish next time I am here.

Now you wouldn't think a seafood place is where you should go to have Chinese food but they make the best Lo-main ever!

We were road tripping our way down I-10 and wanted to stop somewhere off the beaten path,…read morenon-chain, for lunch. Jingo popped up a few exits from us, so we went for it. The building itself looks pretty rough, which is par for the course when stopping in small towns for cajun food. They have covered outdoor seating for when the weather is nice, as well as tables and booths inside. You order at the counter, grab a seat, and wait for your food to be ready. Everything looked fresh cooked, since you can see the kitchen in the back from the order counter, and someone working away frying shrimp, fish filets, etc. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and accommodating. She walked our food out to us, came back checking on our meal, and even hunted down some hot sauce for us when we asked. We ordered the fried shrimp po-boy, fried pickles, popcorn shrimp, a couple sodas and something else seafood I can't quite remember. The total was close to $60 which kind of struck me, so the pricing is roughly $20 a person for entree and drink. I'd say the seafood is the main attraction, and everything else is filler. My po-boy had really bad bread, it wasn't fresh baguette, instead some kind of mushy white bread like a hotdog bun, but the shrimp inside was great. The popcorn shrimp was great. The fried pickles were great. Whatever the heck my wife ordered was also seafood and great. I also saw multiple tables ordering the seafood boil plates and digging in, so keep that in mind as another popular option. (at least during that lunch) This place won't win any fine dining awards, but they seem to have seafood down pat. Worth a stop if you're looking for something unique while motoring through.

Love the atmosphere, employees were super sweet, and great food! We had a really great date night!!read more
