However the demeanor and…read moreprofessionalism of the owner or shop manager (Mike) was very disappointing to say the least. I had made an appointment for 4pm to pick up my car. Later on that day, I realized id becoming from York in rush hour traffic and wouldn't be able to arrive on time of meeting at 4pmbe running late coming from work and it was during rush hour so I called them to ask if I could reschedule to pick up my car at the following day at 2pm In response to my request, Mike essentially refused to work with me at all and was very rude and had a derogatory tone to his voice It was more than evident he was annoyed I had inconvenienced him. In turn, he outright refused to reschedule. He claimed I needed to return their loaner car. Im not sure why it was was so urgent that the car be returned that night In turn, Mike refused to work with me at all which I found very rude and unsettling Its truly unfortunate, I cant give the Hanover Lube & Brake a higher rating because the mechanical work completed was excellent with a fast turn around. It's the customer service that greatly needs to improve Afterall, I had just purchased my car a little over 2 weeks ago and the check engine light came on telling me something waa seriously wrong with my emissions I was very aggravated and worried about how much I would have to pay for the service despite having paid for a full service warranty therefore I was a bit distraught and I needed someone who was understanding and empathetic of my situation and support and advocate lowering costs as much as possible knowing my financial issues. Instead I got a manager with attitude and distain despite knowing my situation was somewhat dire. Youll be disappointed too Just know for certain i wony be coming back

Well apparently they didn't replace the oil plug/oil filter scrape guard properly because the front half came unattached and scraped down the highway. Making it completely demolished and I'll need another one. Not to mention I'm 5 hours from home with a screaming car as the plastic scrapes against the pavement. I've had nothing but positive experiences at this place and let them know every time. Would just have expected more from a place I've been loyal to for years. Very upset.

I don't think I got ripped off, and I think the older guys there seemed pretty knowledgeable. So starting out nitpicking - I had a very long wait time between the time I came in and when they took my information so I could at least leave the shop and wander around the plaza. It was almost an hour, they were already working on my am car, and all I could do was just sit around for someone to come and punch my name and address into a computer. The cynical side of me suggests they did that so the guy who finally did get to me in could pull my car's filters and clear the costs of them changing them + my wiper blades. Which, as far as cynicism goes I can't even be that mad about since visual demonstrations *do* work better than calling the client. It's just mildly annoying since I was good with the cost at the beginning and said as much. But even this scenario is conjecture, and more likely is that the shop was just busy and this is how workflow goes. The kid who checked me out was less knowledgeable than either of the first two men I'd talked to. He couldn't tell me if they'd checked my breaks or not, or what the measures he was showing me meant. I'm sure he'd have gotten one of the other guys if I pressed it, though. I went in for a state inspection anyway, and looking it up on google they're supposed to have checked my breaks so I feel comfortable with that. I met with the guy who did the inspections and he seemed pretty competent. On the service checklist it says they vaccines my floors and washed exterior windows - pretty extraneous services I don't care about much but I'm just detailing here. They did vacuum my front carpets, but didn't do the backs - probably because there were 2 boxes or so in there, and I would have never have expected them to do anything with my mess of a trunk. They definitely did not wash my windows. But they're also not a car wash and again, these are extras I at least really don't care about in my car shop. There are a few other things on the service list that say "not checked" or "N/A" that I would have asked about if the person ringing me would have been likely to give me answers on, but they don't worry me a lot and if I think about it on Monday I'm sure they'd explain it to me over the phone. My last nitpick is that this location is just listed as Jiffy Lube while all the others are listed as Jiffy Lube & Multicare - for non-car people like me I thought initially this might mean the Hanover location only did oil changes since it was different than the rest. Now, though, I think it might just be a fluke or an inconsistency from the way this location is franchised (which is important as well because this location takes different coupons than the rest of the ones in the area!) But with so many little things, I still give this place 5 stars. I had a lot of hiccups trying to get my car inspected today but the staff were really helpful and empathetic getting everything fixed and in the end got me finished earlier they told me. The first guy to set me up with everything actually tried to talk me down from a more expensive oil change, and seemed ready to spend any amount of time with me to explain what was happening with my car. Services do add up quick, especially with inspections, but I wasn't overcharged. The only other thing I can say is that I turned my car back on to the sounds of a baseball game, which was honestly just charming and made me smile.

During the inspection, I asked them to do a diagnostic and find out why the light had come on. They said I had a bad knock sensor and it would not pass emissions. The diagnostic was in the 50-60 range. Replacing the bad sensor would be over 200. I didn't have the repair done. Instead, I took my car to another service center and asked them to perform the inspection and to check why my service light had come on. They found nothing wrong and passed my car's inspection and emissions. This was 3 years ago. It has passed other emissions since then from different service centers.

I called FIVE times with no answer, left an angry message and finally had someone call me back and say something else must be broke. NOTHING was broke when I brought it in for new tires! Sure. So, he insisted it must be something else not related to their work. Right. No wonder Sears is tanking. Should have gone to BJs like I usually do. Never had a problem there. Ever.
