Hao, and company diagnosed the problems and provided an estimate which equals about three car payments on a new vehicle but a lot cheaper than a dealer would charge. We swallowed hard but decided to move forward with the repair and they completed the work quickly and efficiently. Their positive friendly aporoach to everything was really refreshing! When I went to pick it up, they asked me to come out in the shop to show me the parts that failed and were replaced. Im not a good mechanic myself but do enough of my own work to recognize excellence and competence in others. 5. Tommy just came through for us again. My son Eric was driving the old Tahoe and started noticing a coolant leak. He diagnosed it as a water pump and we gave Eric the number for Quantum. Tommy took it in, diagnosed it as a shot water pump and gave me a quote with options for replacing with an original Chevy part or a less expensive aftermarket that he knew to be reliable. Frankly, the quote was hundreds less than I expected. I am a fairly decent mechanic and would gladly pay his quoted price. He got the work done the day he was able to diagnose the problem. Engine wasn't starting immediately after turning the key. They performed their analysis and recommended a new starter and battery cables, for which they wanted to charge me $1,400+. I previously had the MC there for the same problem and, after $400+ in analysis charges, it was a $20 gas cap. Wanting a second opinion, I scheduled an appointment with Quantum. Due to their high volume of work, I had to wait 2-1/2 weeks, but the wait was well worth it. Tommy, the owner, looked at the battery cables and starter and said there was no problem with them. However, apparently some General Motors vehicles have this starting problem. Not enough fuel is getting to the fuel injectors when the key is turned. He pressure-checked the fuel pump and found it to be the problem. Rather than spending $1,200+, he showed me how to ensure the injectors have enough fuel so the engine will start on the first turn of the key. I've had cars serviced over 50+ years and Tommy is the first mechanic that took his time to fully explain the issue and the solution. He knows what he's doing and most importantly, he's honest. You can't go wrong with Quantum Mechanix.

He took the time to look over the car right away, then suggested we go for a quick drive so he could better understand the issue. He even hooked up a diagnostic tool and quickly resolved the problem--all with a friendly attitude. The cost was very reasonable, and the overall experience was outstanding. This was the worst service experience I've ever had, and I strongly caution anyone against using…read morethem. It started well enough. Eddie did his best to take care of us throughout the entire experience. They called us to pick up our car and they didn't even repair one of two items that they said they would. They still charged us the quoted amount, which was supposed to include two repairs. Upon driving away, three major error indicators were going off on our dashboard (these were not there prior to the repair). After calling to inquire about it, they told us to bring it back and they'd take a look. The manager, Mike, was extremely rude and condescending. He said they'd review the work they did and "see if it was Caliber's fault." He refused to look at the diagnostic paperwork we got when having it looked over at Toyota. Surprise, surprise. Caliber determined that "everything was put back together correctly." Still major errors within the car's electronic components. We were given the email address of the district manager or some other higher-up (no follow-up phone number), Jeff, who never responded. Ultimately, we went to Toyota and had to pay $1300 for the damage Caliber did to our car, after paying THEM $750 to fix our one issue (and ignore the other thing we wanted fixed). Our car was at their facility for many days, and we had to go back and forth several times. I've never had a worse customer service experience (except for Eddie, who did everything he could despite his team) or felt so desperate that someone damaged my VEHICLE and would make no effort to fix it. Also note that Caliber is NOT BBB-accredited. I've heard they're good with body work, but steer clear if your repair requires ANYTHING electronic.
