I couldn't have been more impressed by Tommy and his small crew (under his watchful guidance). They really made me feel like my car was in good hands and I didn't have to be concerned the job would be done right the first time with expertise and qualified knowledge. Tommy was patient and answered my concerns even explaining products that even though are superior would not work for my particular driving style. His mother is as sweet a person as I have ever met and was also the receptionist. I thought she was his wife but when we had a nice conversation as I waited on my oil and transmission fluid change she told me he was her son! Tommy, you better keep an eye on her or someone is going to snatch her up LOL! Anyway he promotes Amsoil which is one of the reasons I came in because my older brother was a mechanic and he loved Amsoil and used it in all of his cars. I can say my car is quieter and the MPGs are better after the oil change. I only use the top shelf Amsoil product...called "Premier" which is good for 25K miles between oil changes and has the best engine protective additive package you will ever find. Don't take my word for it just get a Blackstone oil analysis done and you will see reality for yourself. His prices were great too. Now that I have a mechanic I can relax knowing that my car will give me long service for many years to come. Just remember to do all your scheduled maintenance and you can protect one of your biggest investments rather than letting it fall apart and having to pump several $1000 into a new vehicle. Tommy just came through for us again. My son Eric was driving the old Tahoe and started noticing a coolant leak. He diagnosed it as a water pump and we gave Eric the number for Quantum. Tommy took it in, diagnosed it as a shot water pump and gave me a quote with options for replacing with an original Chevy part or a less expensive aftermarket that he knew to be reliable. Frankly, the quote was hundreds less than I expected. I am a fairly decent mechanic and would gladly pay his quoted price. He got the work done the day he was able to diagnose the problem. On time, exactly as quoted and functioning perfectly. I have recommended Quantum to friends for a decade and they all agree that you get honest work done right at a fair price. I was provided a video and told the oil pump solenoid/sub-harness was the main issue. My paperwork also states that this was the "primary cause of the Check Engine Light," which was confusing because my check-engine light was never on and never came on. Because the diagnosis didn't sit right with me, I decided to get a second opinion before paying for the recommended repair. I took my Mercedes to another shop, where they diagnosed the water pump as the actual cause of the overheating and confirmed the oil pump solenoid was not causing the problem. After replacing the water pump, my overheating issue was resolved. I understand that diagnosing vehicles isn't always perfect, but I specifically paid $225 to determine the cause of an overheating issue, and unfortunately, the actual cause was missed. I'm very glad I trusted my instincts and got a second opinion before spending money on a repair that would not have fixed the overheating.

My brake light was coming on occasionally and so I figured I needed to have my fluid checked. I went to NTB on I-30 by Ridgmar Mall (6550 West Freeway) on 2/4/2010 and said I needed brake fluid. I was told my fluid was very low, which they added, and I was then asked permission to check my brakes. Well, they came back and said I had a front brake problem. The estimate was $473.78 to basically get a new pad and 2 rotors. I told them no thanks and then starting calling around, using my detailed NTB estimate to compare prices. I had also done some research on brakes, so I wouldn't sound so stupid and get fleeced. I called another place and they quoted me ten bucks higher! I then called Car Care Center and talked to Bill. He spent quite a bit of time with me on the phone, asking a few questions, and educating me on brakes. I told him what NTB was quoting and he was surprised. Bill then gave me a figure to do the same job that was less than 1/2 the NTB quote. I told him I'd be there the next day, which is today. He explained they didn't take appointments -- it was first come first serve, but that he would work with me because I had to pick my husband up from rehab at a certain time. They don't really have a waiting area, as his customers usually just drop their cars off, but he said he would put the space heater on in their little office and warm the place up before I got there. I was in their warm office for a short time when Bill came in and asked me again about my brakes. He then said I needed to come out to my car so Larry, the other owner, could show me what he had found. Larry and Bill then explained to me what the brakes would look like if I needed new ones. Bill even showed me an example of a pad that needed to be replaced. Larry then pointed out a variety of things on my brakes. The bottom line is --- THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY BRAKES!!! I had just needed brake fluid, which is what I had suspected the entire time. Bill was only going to charge me $20, but I happily wrote a check for $50. I am so impressed that I had to post this right away! These guys rock!

Most recently I brought in a ridiculous dealer quote for a new transmission among other things to get a second opinion and Derek went through with me all of the issues and explained how it would not be financially prudent to go through with any further repairs on the car and to sell it as is for its parts value.
