Continuing mom and I's annual tradition of getting a fish fry during Lenten season, for 2026, we…read morequickly decided we had to try Tapped on Main's (Mark's Pizzeria of Medina) fish fry and wow-ee, was this great! On a relatively busy Friday, around 6pm, we managed to get a parking spot along Main St., practically right in front of Tapped on Main's entrance! Upon walking in, the main dining room was packed. Although there were a few spots at the bar, my mom knew there was another dining area, which was practically empty except for a crew of people playing darts, so we checked in with one of the young women at the bar and she said that we were more than welcome to grab a table in there and she'd be right over with our menus. We easily found a table in the other dining area - This was a nice area as it wasn't nearly as busy and much less going on, the music was lightly playing overhead so we could carry-on a conversation with ease. I think there was a TV or two with MLB opening day 2026 games playing but no sound, which was absolutely fine with us. Our waitress was a very courteous young woman who did a good job checking in on us throughout the evening. We ordered drinks and our fish fry right away and the wait time was incredibly reasonable! We had a short wait, which was nice for catching up and sipping on our beers, which I ordered Big Ditch Brewing's "Long Haul" honey lager, which was brewed for the Erie Canal bicentennial and dang, I wish I had tried that sooner, this was delish! Onto the fish fry! Beer-battered haddock over a bed of French fries, with a cup of tartar sauce and a lemon wedge, a side of coleslaw, and a garlic knot. First and foremost, the fish itself was HUGE! We were really impressed though with how well battered it was, fried perfectly as it was sturdy but still easily cuttable with a fork. The haddock within was hot, fantastic flavor. The fries underneath were also REALLY good, cooked perfectly, gold and crispy. What surprised me the most was the coleslaw - I'm not a big fan of vinegar-y, runny coleslaw and this was not. It was on the creamier side, had a really good flavor, almost tasted like there was a bit of a black pepper note on the end. I would eat coleslaw more often if that is what it tasted like! The garlic knot was excellent too, doughy with a nice amount of garlic butter and parmesan on top. We were so impressed though with the quality and the portion size - We ended up taking some home! As for the price, I thought I saw the bill say $17.95 (that could be before tax) but that is a reasonable price for everything we received, in my opinion anyway. Tapped on Main, i.e. Mark's Pizzeria of Medina, surprises, and impresses, me once again! The staff and food continue to be great! I look forward to coming back for another meal, and a cold beer, when I'm passing through Medina!

We were starving, so we ate it anyway. Mediocre sauce. Cheese and toppings kept sliding off. The waitress was annoying and clueless. She kept coming back to ask how everything was even though she'd already dismissed my concern over the burnt pizza. The best one was when she came over as I was literally in the middle of a slice to ask if I was needed a box. I explained that what she was seeing was someone who was, in fact, eating. The place looked really cute and I had high hopes, but after $30 for a burnt pizza and a pint, I won't be going back.

The innkeepeers are super friendly, and the breakfast is prepared fresh. The fruit plate isn't the best, but it's out-of-season fruits, so you do what you can. The hot dishes were very tasty--crepes one day, oven pancakes the next--but not _so_ exceptional that I'd go out of my way just for the breakfast.

Location: It's in a beautiful neighborhood, on a picturesque block, within walking distance to Park Avenue, which has several great restaurants and shops. Comfort: The beds are insanely comfortable (reminds me of the W Hotel beds) and the rooms are very spacious with everything you might need (Netflix, mini-fridge; closet; complimentary lux bath gel, shampoo, conditioner; iron; hairdryer, etc.). The entire place is charmingly historic but also thoroughly updated / remodeled, so everything is in perfect working order and clean/stylish. Service: Gary, the innkeeper/manager, is amazing. He treated us so well and makes the most delicious homemade muffins and eggs for breakfast! He's friendly, caring, and a great resource throughout the stay, who is accessible but not intrusive. Getting around: Like I said, great location and also very easy for Uber/Lyft to find. We were going to rent a car but honestly didn't really need one. If you do, though, there's parking on site in the back and also plenty of parking on the street. Overall, just a terrific place!!!

Unlike the cookie cutter rooms of the typical hotel, each guest room here is unique, decorated with different antiques and amenities. In contrast to the antique 4 poster bed and traditional decoration, our room had a modern bathroom with a small shower. We also had a large jacuzzi which we enjoyed and a fireplace that we didn't try out with temperatures in the 80's. You can check out the decor and amenities of each room on their website to see which room you would like best. Note that the prices for some rooms do not include breakfast, for those who do not want to indulge, although their breakfast is something you do not want to miss. Scattered throughout the B & B are small refrigerators stocked with complimentary soft drinks and ice. There are several coffee stations with assorted K-cups and a nice selection of teas. Each day freshly baked cookies are put out. Each room has a basket of complimentary bagged snacks. Also scattered around and in the rooms are "emergency boxes" filled with things that you might need, but probably didn't bring, such as scissors, a flashlight, band-aids and batteries. As you wander the halls you will find bookcases with books to read and games to play and displays of tourist information. The grounds of the house are beautifully landscaped and you can sit in a rocking chair on the veranda, or have a picnic at the tables and chairs in the garden. For the more actively inclined, there is a woods behind the house with several walking trails. Each morning the guests would gather in the antique filled living room awaiting the start of breakfast. Breakfast was a communal affair, with all guests seated around the dining room table. Each morning Chef Nate would prepare a five star, three course breakfast. The first course would be a fruit dish such as a fruit parfait or fresh local fruit, the second, a savory dish such as Eggs Florentine or Baked Eggs (like a quiche without a crust) and the meal would conclude with a sweet dish such as crepes, a cinnamon scone, or a waffle with fresh maple syrup. Also available to nibble on were local grapes and freshly baked coffee cake, After breakfast Nate would discuss with the guests what their interests were and would provide us with recommendations on where to go, brochures and maps. While most of the wineries in the Finger Lakes are on the other lakes, there are a few in the area and Nate had passes for a discounted tasting. Lake Canandaigua is a short drive away as is Main Street in Canandaigua. Main Street is filled with interesting little shops, bakeries and cafes and you can spend the day walking from place to place. There are a few minor things about the Sutherland House that some people might find negative. The building is not handicap accessible. There are several steps going up to the main floor, and most of the rooms require a trek up a long, narrow, winding stairway. There is not daily housekeeping service. If you need somebody to pick up after you, this is probably not the place for you. There is no Innkeeper on the premises in the afternoon or evening. In the morning Nate takes care of things, but after that if you need something you have to make a call. The A/C in our room didn't work very well. Fortunately there was a ceiling fan that cooled the room off pretty well, and the floor to ceiling windows could be opened to let in the cool night air. Hopefully, they have repaired or replaced the a/c by now. All in all, if you're looking for a relaxing stay in the Finger Lakes, in a beautiful old building with a gourmet breakfast, I highly recommend the Sutherland House.

He made the booking process incredibly easy and was fully transparent about pricing and policy (was not surprised with any hidden charges even at the end of the trip). He picked us up right on time at our hotel and offered us bottled waters and some restaurant recommendations around Niagara Falls, which was so considerate! We are out of town so we did not really know the area very well so his recommendations made it SO much easier for us to enjoy our trip without any added hassle. He also graciously made any stops we requested despite it not being on our official itinerary. We were so highly impressed with Enzo's professionalism and character that we asked if he was available the next day but unfortunately he was fully booked (AND FOR GOOD REASON!). My family and I all agreed that this day spent with Enzo in Niagara Falls was the highlight of our trip. Definitely the best limousine and transportation service I have ever used and would highly recommend to anyone! I live in NYC but will definitely be making a trip back out here for a wine trip per Enzo's recommendation and will ONLY be booking Imperial Limousine & Transportation!
