I came into the store to inquire about the price of getting a regular French pedicure and I said I wanted French Gel nails. The manager or person in charge who spoke pretty good English said it's right there on the board. I looked at the board, which was very confusing and then I said to him, just tell me how much because, that's too confusing and complicated. He quoted me $78 dollars, so I came back a few minutes later to get the services done, after checking at another nail salon, who quoted me the same price. When I went up to pay, now the price was $95. I reminded them of what the manager had quoted me, and a woman said m, he must have been confused and this is the price you must pay. I argued for a minute and saw it was not going to do me any good, so I just paid it. I told them great bait and switch. read more

#1 nails has been by far my favorite nail salon in Dubuque! My nails always turn out great, down to the shape to designs- usually pretty spot on. I don't have anyone I specifically go to, but they all have been kind, friendly and personable! read more

Don't get your nails or toes done here. They'll look nothing like the picture reference you show them. On top of that they'll price it way more than it's worth. They knew they'd do a bad job and said claimed to be able to do it. Nails will be lumpy, crooked, and sloppy. read more

Save your money and go somewhere else!! We came here to surprise my sister for her birthday and I booked a gel manicure for myself. The service was completely rushed and she was finished in 18 minutes! It's now 3 days later and they already look so grown out and 2 nails have chipped. Super disappointed in the service considering it's about $50 and she only spent 18 minutes doing my nails. read more

I called 2 days in advance for an appointment... got right in for my pedicure but was thrown from one person to the next for my acrylics. Because the first woman doing my nails "had her appointment come in", then I was sent to a young man who is clearly new my nails are lopsided. I'm sorry but an appointment is an appointment and I'm over coming here. It's my 3rd time and each time I just feel like I'm unappreciated as a customer. Other places in DBQ understand the value of customer service. I was there for 1 hour 45 for a pedicure/set read more

No 1 Nail - Hard to tell from photo but it's not "level" I asked for it to be fixed because it was worse but I gave up after the third time - Nail Salons Near Me - Dubuque, Iowa

Went in for a gel polish change. Had a great manicure from three weeks prior from Nails for U. My nails were looking great! I was in a hurry but not a 25 minute half assed manicure hurry. He took off the great Nails for U manicure and did two coats on my nails. They were already thing from the previous manicure and he further thinned them with excessive filing. I asked for a clear coat shellac. It's been one day- not even 24 hours later and I have broken two nails and the sides are already coming up from that place. I was charged $42 for a half of a manicure! $42!!!!! Where are the rest of the coats? He also cut one cuticle too short and I bled a bit. Happens sometimes... but just topped off a crappy manicure. Never going here again! I've since heard from others to not waste your time or money here. Go to Nails for U on JKF and Pennsylvania. read more

I wish I could give less then a 1 star. I went here with my sister and got a pedicure (see picture) and it chipped over night. I live 45 minutes away and they said they couldn't do anything for me unless I came back and I am leaving for vacation tomorrow so I had to drive back or waste $58. I went back they fixed my toe and then I STUPIDLY decided to get my nails done while I was there. My nail chipped in less then 5 hrs. I am so disappointed! I have never had such a bad experience at a nail salon and I will never be going back there other then to get a full refund for my nails! Flush your money down the drain it'll be easier then going here. read more

I went for an acrylic fill and a pedicure. The pedicure was so-so, basic, rushed, and not at all relaxing. I asked for a hand painted design on my toe and its definitely sloppy. The acrylic fill was pretty standard but I asked for hand painted designs on 4 of my fingers. I gave very clear reference photos. The designs I got are crooked, uneven, shaky, and none of the lines match up. I would say if you just want basic services this place may be for you, but if you want something more complicated go elsewhere. read more

Visiting from Des Moines and thought I would get my nails done while I have time. Regular nail polish pedicure and shellac manicure. NO NAIL POLISH removed 75$ are they out of there mind. But as I'm sitting in there the owner is bitching about media com and how he canceled the internet cuz it was high. Wow. Glad Won't be going there anymore. And I tipped less because of the high price so ur hurting ur employees. Plus it was an ordinary job. No one hardly talked to me. I also help looking for a color and no one helped me. Can't wait to go back to my better service for cheaper. My nails look done quickly. My toes looks very good. read more

Went here to get my dip polish re-done, made an appointment, and was seated about 20 minutes after I got there. They then let me sit with my hands soaking in acetone for AN HOUR AND A HALF without anyone even helping me remove the polish. I was literally using my own nails to scrape it off because I was being completely ignored. After being in the salon for an hour and 45 minutes without anyone even touching my nails I left and did not even get polish put back on. They then had the audacity to charge me $16 for the 'service'. This place is BAD bad. read more

Manually added a $10 tip to my card. First all of the nail tech never got all the old dip powder off my nail he left it. Then proceeded to put new dip on my nails . Ok whatever I was in a hurry to leave. I went on a Tuesday. So I paid with my card $53.50 2 days later my card sent notification that my purchased updated from $53.50 to $63.50. Mind you he half ass'd his job so I didn't tip at all. Call up there she say the card machine has been acting crazy ok cool. She told me come in with receipt. Go in she compares receipt steady stating I've only been charged $53.50 no tip added I show her my text and charge on my card. She kept denying it like yeah I see what the receipt say but y'all go back in and add tips later on. So yeah they stole $10 from me read more

Number 1? haha no way! This place is terrible. I don't think they clean or sanitize their tools. When I got there I had a reservation but it didn't matter because they were letting anyone come in and get services done so we had to wait 20 minutes. I finally got to sit down in my pedicure spa chair and the water was ice cold! I asked for warmer water and the woman seemed very bothered by my request. The services were extremely rushed. My mother in law got her pedi and mani in less than 30 minutes. How is that possible? I had nail polish on my skin and they didn't bother to take it off. The bowl of water for my nails to soak in was ice cold as well. I'm pretty sure I soaked in someone else's water. Please avoid this place and try VIP Nails instead. I will NEVER go back here. It's disgusting. No thật kinh tởm. read more

Went in for a bridal party. Multiple bad experiences. One girl left with a toenail not even painted and then her big toe peeled completely off in one piece within two days. I use to go here regularly until it started to slowly go downhill. I would get the same exact service everytime but it was always a different price. I get an acrylic overlay on my natural nail with gel. This time i went for the first time again in a year or so. I made an appointment with Julia and when i got there i was with someone else. My nails looked great but i have nicks and cuts all over the skin around my nail and cuticle. It was not only super painful during my fill but now 4 days after. I've been nicked before but not this bad. She also was being extremely careless and continued to run over the spots she just nicked with the drill. My bill was 52$, which is ridiculous to begin with for what i'm getting(other salons have charged me as low as $35 for my service). But for her to not discount me for cutting me several times? read more

I came in to get a fill. Ive been here a couple times so I know how the prices go. $35 for a fill. $5 for designs. so I was thinking $45 for the whole set. which ive got charged that before, so I knew what I was getting And how much id he getting charged. I get there, they're busy as usual. I finally sit down after an hour of waiting (which they told me 15 minutes). They start doing my nails, and it took 2+ hours to fill. Whatever. Towards the end, he goes, "I didn't do what you showed me in the picture, I did my own style". Which was NOTHING reportedly close to what I asked for. I showed my friend and she told me it looked exactly like one of those tik toks people make as jokes. Anyways... I go up to pay and he says it's $69.90. what?!! I call the boss and he tells me he can fix it but I'm not getting my refund. I'm super, super disappointed. read more

This place is outrageously overpriced! I was absolutely shocked. $50 for a standard manicure and pedicure with no additions or specialties (ie. gel or acrylic) and an additional $35 for a gel manicure for my grandma on top of an already $50 for a mani/pedi.... $130 out the door for 2 people for a basic mani pedi is absolutely ridiculous and I will not be coming back here. read more

Very disappointed in my experience today. Went in with my daughter to get pedicures and came out feeling like I should have done my nails myself. They got me in right away but after taking off my polish and trimming my nails the first gentleman had to leave to go get his kids. 15 minutes later another woman came and did a half xxx job finishing the pedicure. My end product only had one coat of polish and she got polish all over my skin and didn't wipe it off. I wasn't even sure if she was finished because she just walked away. Never going back!! read more

I am a regular customer here, and this nail salon has always been average, but I've just had a terrible experience. First, they did not change the towel they were working on when I sat down, which had nail color from the previous customer and was damp. Then the entire time, the technician doing my nails was in a huge rush even though there wasnt anymore customers, filing my nails too fast and messing up her previous work, then knicking my skin with the nail drill. And she wouldnt let me wash my hands after soaking in acetone when I asked. read more

Rude. I scheduled an appoitment for 12, waited until 12:30 because stuff happens then asked one of the girls at the front how much longer. She asked the gentleman named Sam who I requested because he did a good job the first time I went there. He stated it would be at least another 30 mins. I think that's ridiculous, why have appointments then ? The time before this , I had a woman do them and my shellac only lasted 8 days before it completely peeled off. I don't recommend this place at all. Horrible customer service. read more

I was very disappointed in the owner of #1 Nails when after being a regular customer for several years, I asked him for a donation of a gift certificate for a non-profit local organization that is having an auction to raise funds.
