Introduction to Dewey Beach trip:…read more Representing 1 of 2 from September 2023 in Scrapbook series is Crab House. Both are from this Dewey Beach stay. I had gotten an invite for my friend organizing this trip at a house accommodating a large group. On Tuesday, August 15, 2023, I had surgery for testicular cancer. One of the stipulations for recovery was no getting in a pool or beach for 3 weeks. My community pool last day is Labor Day, the day before that 3 week mark. So, I wrote off going back to my community pool the rest of the season. In late August roughly 2 weeks after surgery, I was in a walk in my neighborhood talking to another friend. He was trying to convince me to go on the trip. I was on the fence, but ultimately decided it'd probably be fun & worth going. The weekend portion of the trip was booked. Experience with Crab House: So, I arrived on Labor Day Monday and went straight to Crab House in the late afternoon to meet up with the group for early dinner opting for the buffet. Food was solid, and it was a cute place. Buffet was more good than bad, a few things were kind of weak. Service was decent. It was pretty pricey, but was a good variety of various seafood & other items. Conclusions: I'm SO glad I went on this trip. The next day I was able to go in the beach, and it was a heat wave that week. More importantly, that Tuesday was when I first met my girlfriend, which will be 3 years in February.
