The Food: I would not call this Chinese but American with an oriental slant. More than half a dozen heaping tables recede into the distant middle of the space ending in a grill area where you can get made-to-order items. Items on the lunch tables when I visited included steamed shrimp, small steamed clams, baked salmon, French fries, pizza (you can see not all the food is Asian or Cantonese), hot and sour soup (excellent with matchstick vegetables and just enough bite), egg drop soup, sweet and sour chicken, Buffalo wings, Chinese string beans, macaroni c and cheese, chicken with broccoli, General Tso's chicken, stuffed mushroom caps, carefully presented colorful sushi, cakes, ice cream. The groaning board offers something for everyone. The evening version can include snow crab legs, crawfish, lobster and raw beef. I appreciate the attempt to meet American gastronomic sensibilities, but I mourn that many fine Chinese options may get crowded off the steam tables. Children: Surely a child can find something edible on a buffet that includes macaroni and cheese, pizza, fries, cakes and ice cream. Vegetarian Options: Salad bar, some sushi, a grill you can walk up to and ask for made to order. Lots of options here. Alcohol: none. The food was pathetic. There was absolutely no beef on the menu. The place has not been updated and it shows. The hibachi grill choices were shameful. I would not and will not be returning to this place ever again. The host is like a robot. The ambiance was dirty, dingy, so you can really see the place. The bathrooms were clean. Oh forgot to mention, the food was cold, below holding especially the salmon. The soups had film on top, which means no one stirred them or refreshed them. This was a BIG HELL NO! Stopped by on a Friday a bit early wanting Hibachi, they have several tables. Was told I had to have 2 people for Hibachi. I said maybe I'll have an appetizer or some sushi and wait to see if anyone else came in for Hibachi. Staff told me they weren't expecting it to be busy that evening (Friday) and doubted Hibachi would open. Ordered a spicy tuna roll and smoked salmon sashimi, both of which tasted like yesterday's leftovers. Salmon had no smoke taste to it at all. read more

There's a good amount of food options, and the quality is pretty standard for a buffet. The prices are pretty cheap for all you can eat. They let me change booths when I asked and the service was good. The server was nice, and by the time I was back at my seat my drink was there and refills were quick. I gave this 5 stars because as far as Chinese buffets go, it really doesn't get any better. If you want to nitpick about one or two items not being perfect I suggest you go to a regular restaurant. When I first walked in I was immediately impressed with the overall decor. It's tastefully modern with many antique Chinese touches and woodwork. Great seafood: the baked salmon, oysters,shrimp and blue claw crab were spot on. Sushi was very good and fresh for a Chinese buffet. I guess if I had a complaint it would be that the crawfish weren't seasoned like they usually are and the buffalo chicken wings were on the sweet side of the classic franks/butter sauce. read more

The food was terrible! It was cold, and the soup tasted and felt like grease. They were handling the sushi with ungloved hands! We will never go back. We paid for the food and left with the food uneaten. There was 3 people in our party. It cost us $30 for food we did not even eat! read more

It was ok! The staff wasn't the liveliest, but hey, I was there to eat. Food selection was your standard Asian buffet food, but I can say the best past of the whole buffet was the hibachi grill. Select what you want, slap it on a plate, hand it to the grill master and wait for your dish. Other than that part, everything else flavor-wise wasn't anything outstanding. But hey, for 11 bucks and some change I wasn't expecting casino standards the restaurant was very clean though. Please don't go here. The food is cafeteria food and unsanitary. Came with my boyfriend and we were the only ones sat in the section then 4 other families were sat right next to us when the whole restaurant was empty. Guys. Seriously. It's a buffet. Why are you trying the oysters at a buffet? Stop it. You want a good experience at the Flaming Grill and Buffet? Here's what you do: 1. Order a Hibachi plate. Unlike most Asian buffet restaurants, there's no extra charge for the Hibachi here, which is *awesome*. The food is fresh and tasty, prepared from raw ingredients you pick yourself right in front of you, and if you pick correctly it's even healthy! 2. Get a sushi plate. No, it's not the best sushi in town (that'd be Sushi de Kanpai, which is approximately 10x more expensive), but where else are you going to get a plateful of sushi and a plateful of Hibachi for less than $12? 3. Pick a dessert wisely. Most of the cakes are just fine (probably frozen in a box). I had an espresso tart last time I was there that was quite good. 4. Repeat until you are full. It's a buffet; if you aren't uncomfortably full and slightly regretful when you walk out, you're doing it wrong. Flaming Grill and Buffet does the Pan-Asian buffet schtick better than any other place in Salisbury. If that's not your thing, don't go there expecting something different. I was on the fence between 3 or 4 overall but the food is just okay. Not bad but not the best I've had. The staff was very friendly and attentive which is always a plus. The 3 is solely for the mediocre food. The buffet is clean and the space itself is clean. The restroom was also very clean. They have a good selection of food as well. Good for large or small groups. Host was texting on his phone when we first arrived. Completely left us behind while taking us to our seat, and didn't understand a word he was saying. Restaurant was in disrepair with wall paper coming off the walls, and carpet seems were held together with duct tape. Carpets were greasy and had a terrible odor. Glass petitions between booths were covered in grime and fingerprints. Overall restaurant not well maintained. Our waitress was attentive, and asked often if we were doing alright. It is a buffet, and used plates were removed from the table in a timely manner. Food could be considered high end cafeteria food. Some good some really bad. Approaching the end of our meal we were given our check before we indicated we were ready to leave. Upon leaving, host again was on his cell phone having a conversation. He remained on the phone through our entire final transaction, very detached from the customer. Our bill was $45.00 for a party of 3, which isn't terrible for all you can eat. Reading the reviews of this place I'm slightly surprised. When they decided to open up, being only a stones throw away from the other chinese buffet in the area, I knew it would be war. While I don't believe that all the reviews below to be erroneous, Yelpers know that it's not above competitors to post bad reviews of the competition in order to drive business away. It's pretty clear that this is the best chinese buffet/hibatchi in the area. Whoever opened the place recognized the trend away from the pure chinese buffet(which I'm not actually fond of), and put in a hibatchi grill. I stick almost exclusively with the grill, personally, and have found it to be a wonderful alternative to the $25 per plate offerings of the Tokyo across the street. I realize you get the "show" there, but at my age I just don't seem to care anymore. I can enjoy some tasty japanese stir fry for under $10(I think it's $7 for lunch but I normally bring a coupon from the local mailer that knocks it down even further). The steak, as with most hibatchi's, is tough, so I stick with the shrimp. Or, I use their pepper steak with my noodles. That's pretty tasty as well, and not as tough. I have been there with many people that ate from the steam tables and there were never any complaints. This place is normally packed but I've never had a problem getting right in. Furthermore, if you happen to go for dinner, it's unlimited crab legs. Though they are on ice rather than hot, I still found them quite tasty, and it's still under $10(weekdays), I find that pretty hard to beat! Having sampled both buffet's, this place is clearly the winner! It would appear, based on the crowds, the public at large concurs. I love this place. Fish, fruit, the California rolls, the dessert, soup and a few veggies. There is salad also. I love the mussels, the salmon and the rice noodles. PROs The variety is what draws me. CON stay away from the grill. I tried the create a stir fry. The stir fry guy does not pay attention. He scooped up my food and all my meat went into someone else's pile! He did not even notice. I said ,"where is my meat?" No response. I don't think he understood my English. Then the dish tasted like pure water. I added garlic. I could not eat it it was that tasteless. Honestly I don't think he knows what he is doing just stirring stuff and it gets mixed into others. It was a Sunday afternoon. Busy Yes so my suggestions is if you want stir fry first go when it is not busy, ask the guy if he speaks English, and if he does add oil to the mix because the way they grill it kills flavor. Lastly I will add meat from buffet to those veggies to complete the meal and flavor the palette. PS the flan was bland .I eat it every time and it is usually great today 5/4/14 not so great. Horrible service. I'd be better off filling my own drink rather waiting over 10 minutes for a refill. Dirty plates piling up. The food was disgusting. I did not try any sushi. Ribs were dry, tasteless and lacked sauce. Crabs were overcooked, dry and grey. They had a sign that said lobster and it was clearly imitation seafood. This place used to be good, but is not any more. They advertise all you can eat crab legs, but they were in ice, soggy and mushy and when we asked if they would heat some up for us they said no. There were alot of low class people there that did not know how to act in public. The Mexican that was cooking on the grill used the grill spatula to shove down the burnt food from cooking aka grease trap, and then tried to give me my food with the same spatula and I just walked away at that point.The desserts were not cold, like the frig in that section didn't work. The other seafood that was there was crabs that tasted old and terrible, and they deep fried shrimp with the heads on and shell, so when you peeled it, it was a greasy mess. I went months ago and the food wasn't bad. I went last night and it was terrible! The hibachi is usually my favorite, but it was awful. My steak was not chopped up and it was tough to cut with a knife, my eggs weren't chopped either, rice was hard. The food on the bar lacked taste and the broccoli in the chicken and broccoli was mushy. What a waste of money ! read more

Still doing their "take out" it works well for me. However, I have to give them a 4 star for improper food rotation they should always remember FIFO: First-in First-out! Meaning don't pour New/Fresh food over old food! Otherwise, they would have gotten a 5 star.
